Loose lips and drunk SOD

This calls for a serious amount of Whadabout!
Happy to oblige.
Reminded me "Fuck the EU" moment Obama administration had. In case you forgot Obama was a democrat.:D
Wow. Not even close to close.
It's actually worse. In case of Obama, his officials were using 100% insecure line to discuss their shenanigans.
In both cases they were highly disrespectful toward Europe.
Still not close.

In their defense, I believe they were hacked--that is, a hacker sent an invite to the journalist as a current invitee, either by faking or by gaining access to their account. Of course that isn't much of a defense because they never should have been using Signal anyway to discuss classified matters. I agree it is necessary to get to the bottom of how this was done and who did it because it is a huge national security problem. It's also a huge problem for all these fucktards on Signal. If they were low-level employees and did this, they'd not only be fired immediately, but they'd also have criminal charges.
Not exactly a hack. Probably someone directly under Michael Walz who had access to his signal account (with permission) who knew of the profound nature of the security breach that was going on and wanted to expose it. Apparently multile people within the government had access to these signal accounts:

One minute later, a person identified only as “MAR”—the secretary of state is Marco Antonio Rubio—wrote, “Mike Needham for State,” apparently designating the current counselor of the State Department as his representative. At that same moment, a Signal user identified as “JD Vance” wrote, “Andy baker for VP.” One minute after that, “TG” (presumably Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, or someone masquerading as her) wrote, “Joe Kent for DNI.” Nine minutes later, “Scott B”—apparently Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, or someone spoofing his identity, wrote, “Dan Katz for Treasury.” At 4:53 p.m., a user called “Pete Hegseth” wrote, “Dan Caldwell for DoD.” And at 6:34 p.m., “Brian” wrote “Brian McCormack for NSC.” One more person responded: “John Ratcliffe” wrote at 5:24 p.m. with the name of a CIA official to be included in the group. I am not publishing that name, because that person is an active intelligence officer.

It appears these officials shared their Signal accounts with underlings who would act on their behalf as the representative for these departments in these sensitive discussions when the head of the department was unavailable. I'm almost certain it was one of Michael Walz' underlings who was already given access to the account that did this, as it was under his alias/account that gave Jeffery Goldberg the invite to the group.

Nope, very close and in some ways worse.

I like how he mentions what it is and then denies knowing about it.

I think it's just another way of saying he isn't going to address it but he makes sure to try to destroy The Atlantic in the process. Always go on the offense, right....

Repubs are frantically searching their blame list. This is a new one that needs adding.

I heard on NPR this morning that the government warned against using Signal for official communications, as it risked...well...what just happened.

They’re too busy directing Trump’s every move these days. Taking Ukraine’s resources the EASY way.

Or, he's just senile and can't remember what he said from one minute to the next. Remember when over 500 psychiatrists said that Trump has symptoms of dementia? I do and based on my decades of caring for people with dementia, I saw some of those symptoms too. We already had one Republicans president who had Alzheimers but it was covered up, so now it appears as if we have another one and his toadies don't want to admit it.
