Make America Christian Again

Would the anti-Christian bias include the hate on the bishop who gave that sermon pleading for Trump to have mercy on Inauguration Day?
Christians argue about which Christians are really Christians.

They sure do. As a child I was told my Catholic friends were going to hell. A friend of my mom's asked her if she tried to save a close Catholic friend right after she had died. I wanted to slap the bitch for saying that to my mom who was grieving.

Some of the local Christians have been attacking the Bishop online, being hateful and threatening her. I hope she has some security to protect her, because her god sure ain't gonna do it.

Ok. I wouldn’t know. They are all the same to me.
Growing up in the 60's as a Catholic in the south, I was spit on by a kid who said I wasn't Christian. That was odd to me because every Christian church has a cross in it, but Catholics had a cross with this guy named 'Jesus CHRIST' on it (the guy who gave his name to Christianity) and somehow I wasn't Christian?

I was told Trump wasn't going to do anything that was in Project 2025 and the fears were overblown. What gives?

She is the first in line to be hung for blasphemy.
Oh, come on. That's just silly.

It's "hanged".
At this point there's nothing stopping us from becoming more like Russia where our Dear Leader's opponents mysteriously fall out of windows.

Sure he will! If she gets shot, she'll go to heaven.

Unless she swore once and forgot to confess it, of course.

I was close to 10 before I realized that Protestants believed in the Jesus is God thing. I vaguely understood that they just went to church on Sunday because that's what everyone does.

How lucky you were not to have been forced to attend the type of church I was forced to attend. A lot of Christians these days have stopped going to church, including a couple of friends and my neighbor across the street. My Catholic friend watches the mass on tv. I find that kind of amusing. I do wonder if all these non church going Christians give much thought to their religion or if it's just a habit that they can't give up. Some of them agree with me that a theocracy might harm them too since they may not practice the right version of Christianity. I'm reading a book called, "2000 years of Disbelief". It's a reminder of how not only atheists and skeptics were often persecuted, but if one was a member of the wrong sect of Christianity, that could be a jail sentence or worse.

10?

I was 16 before I understood that Protestant wasn't a particular church. Growing up in Catholic Massachusetts, I thought there was Catholic church and Protestant church. It wasn't until going to a Catholic college I learned what a Baptist was... and why they were bad according to Catholics. It wasn't until after I graduated that I learned how fucked up it all was.

The earliest records of Christians we have list accounts of one sect of Christians anathaemizing and excommunicating each other. Even founding fathers like Marcion were no exception. Arians, gnostics, etcetera. The Huns were Arians, but Marcion was excommunicated way back in 144. Apparently it is great fun excommunicating each other.

I love it when "church fathers" are credited with creating a rich literature and a sturdy foundation for their denomination. It's always worth asking if these saints and worthies defended torture of heretics (Aquinas) or the death penalty for heresy (St. Augustine, John Calvin), and which ones were extreme bigots and displayed such traits as raving antisemitism (Luther). Know who your founders are.

Heh...
We Catholics don't bother talking in terms of decades or centuries.
Millennium.

To be fair, we should honor some of your saints. I truly believe that Jesus himself met Joan of Arc when she ascended to heaven, looked her over with compassionate eyes, and said, "Well done."

I grew up in Metrowest of Boston and when I was in grade school I was pretty sure that the religious kids in my school would grow out of it by college. They didn't. It still blows my mind. My parents were atheists.

A new White House task force announced to root out “anti-Christian” bias in the federal government. Apparently the previous administration targeted Christians and discriminated against them. I was unaware. I am sure Trump has p,entry of examples even though he doesn’t have any to share.

And I am sure that he doesn’t intend to target atheists or other non Christian believers. :rolleyesa:

I'm sure that they define anti-christian as as not allowing Christians to impose their religion onto others. Separation of Church and State is by definition anti-Christian by their thinking. They think that they have a right by their religion to rule over others.

I recall "Justice Thomas" saying something to the effect that the establishment clause doesn't apply to Christianity. Only to non-Christian religions.

HERESY!!!! It was, as all believers in the one TRUE God are aware, a great joy to excommunicate each other.

The funnist heresy must be rooted out; Please report to your local village square to be hanged, drawn, quartered, and your remains burned at the stake.

We joyists must protect the integrity of the faith.

The only thing that all Christians agree on is that 99% of the other Christians are doing it wrong.
