What's truly frightening is not that she believes this, but that millions of rightists believe this. While many of our resident rightists on these boards think she is a screaming idiot, unfortunately the average rightist is not nearly so sophisticated. They genuinely believe that her arguments are brilliant, she uses facts, and that liberals are mad at her because we cannot refute her arguments.

After all, when they use her arguments in discussions with actual liberals, they get a stunned look on their face and can't respond, proving how brilliant the arguments are. Of course, they don't realize that people are dumbstruck by the sheer stupidity and hardly know where to begin, but when you live in a propaganda-fueled fantasy world little details like that don't matter.

The right is well known for projecting. They regularly ascribe their own faults to opponents.

“I took them on, and their agenda, and I went to the heart of whatever it was they wanted to advance, and tried to take it apart through evidence-based arguments, and they don’t like that,” Bachmann said. “When the left argues, they argue from emotionalism.”

Well, just because you have "communist" in your name, doesn't make you communist. In many ways, China is far less communist than Texas.

There should be. It is simply amazing how this woman can stand up there and say the things she says. I agree with her however on one point...Her business in Congress was a "nasty business." Glad to see her depart.
