Very sad. Big fan of Reiner's movies. He made an amazing number of singularly iconic films in so many different genres. RIP, Meathead.

Son Nick Arrested In Connection With Parents' Murder

Rob and Michele Reiner's son Nick has been arrested and is being held on $4 million bail, TMZ has learned.
The 32-year-old is in the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department as of Monday morning, according to online records. He was booked at the LAPD jail. As we reported ... the couple was found by one of their daughters Sunday with their throats slit inside their Los Angeles home.

Oh hell -- just read that Steve Cropper died, on Dec. 3. A giant in rock/soul guitar, and the absolute perfect accompanist on nearly all of Otis Redding's studio work. There's no such thing as a bloated Cropper solo, because the man knew how to create perfect fills with a minimum of notes and was always part of a singer's support team. Crazy good moment: the opening riff on Pickett's 99 and a Half Won't Do. I've been playing Steve in my car for 50 years. He made his mark and will never be forgotten as long as good funky music is in style.

I just read that Reiner's son had a big argument with his parents at a Christmas Party at Conan O'Brian's house, and it looks like he killed his parents shortly afterwards. Still, regardless of the reason, it's a tragedy. I've gotten the impression that the son was messed up long before this happened, with or without drugs. Sometimes people who suffer from mental problems turn to drugs hoping for relief. I don't think we know enough about the son to understand his problems.

But, yeah. Once again, Trump has shown himself to be a hateful asshole. But, the positive is that a lot of his own base is criticizing him or the comments he made about Reiner. Perhaps more people will realize what an incompetent asshole he is. One can only hope.
