Also, Johnny Gage from Emergency! His character was written with him being a little immature and hot headed, but it still worked. RIP Randolph Mantooth.

RIP Keegan. Thanks for all the entertainment. A great player and manager.

Here he is in the classic 1974 Charity Shield match, where he and Billy Bremner became the first players ever to be sent off in that fixture, which up until then had always been played with the atmosphere of a pre-season friendly.

Those were the days, when the only markings on the kit were the number on each player's back, and the club crest on their chest. No advertising at all.

Leeds should bring back the 'smiley' crest, their current one is far too busy.

Division 4?

This is getting depressing.

The Sam Neil news rocked me a bit. Some people are just supposed to be indestructible.

Gene Shalit died last month -- how the hell was he 100 years old????
Jesus. I better read Pride and Prejudice, Vanity Fair and Anna Karenina, if I'm ever gonna.

Hayden Panettiere passed away at 36. Which is obviously very young. She acted for a lot of her life, reaching an epic of being in Season One of Heroes, but then also being in Seasons Two to Four of Heroes. She struggled with post partum depression a ways back. I know with my wife, it never really stopped, and needs (receives) treatment.

I can't imagine the absolute horror it must be, to make it in Hollywood. The sacrifice, getting the payoff, but then the cycles of needing to remain in the system while the sacrifices of making a television show which are absurd, very much a double edged sword. And of course, the Hollywood press.

Her younger brother died in 2023 too. So very sad. She was precious in 'Remember the Titans'

MLB pitcher Tommy John passed away. By any measure, an excellent pitcher back in the day. I never saw him play but his name comes up regularly in reference to a surgical procedure that has become known as “Tommy John surgery”.

Tommy John pitched well for 13 years after suffering what would have been a career-ending injury. The doctor gave him a 1% chance of pitching again. Now it’s one of the most successful surgical procedures done on athletes, and possibly the most common for pitchers.

The first thing anyone ever says about him, even when he dies. 😒

Damn. One of the more memorable concerts I attended was ZZ Top in the fuzzy spinning guitar era at the height of their MTv fame.

Lighted stage floor and a huge mirror above the stage reflecting it. Damn good show.
