More Trouble In Israel

So, the death toll among Israelis is at 10, over less than a quarter of those that died in the stampede at a religious event. And likely competitive with those that just died in a bleacher incident.

Meanwhile, here is a fact check on the recent events in Gaza.

Israel Claims A - This is mostly exaggerated and false.
Hamas Claims B - This is mostly exaggerated and false.
Iran Claims C - This is a flat out lie.
Holocaust Survivor Said D in a Meme - While a holocaust survivor might believe it, there is no evidence any such thing was put forth by a Holocaust survivor as they generally don't make grand statements in fucking Memes!
Footage on Twitter - Is fucking fake, misleading, footage from some other year in some other country, or flat out bullshit.

FAQ

I want to know what is really going on, how can I find out?
You really can't. Israel won't tell the truth. Hamas won't tell the truth. Getting information on Twitter is about as reliable as reading your palm.

So what can we know for sure?
People on both sides are dying needlessly.

What can I do?
Sadly, nothing. This shit show has been a thing for 70 years now. You have European guilt at war with European Indifference and European Ignorance. Add in a other number of parties with agendas and you find out quick, too many people don't want peace.

 Human shields (law),  Human shield
Neve Gordon and Nicola Perugini, in their study of the phenomenon, note that Israeli citizens in densely populated areas like Tel Aviv are never spoken of as human shields when Hamas fires rockets towards the Israeli Defense command located in the centre of that city, whereas Palestinians in Gaza are depicted as human shields when Israel fires rockets at, or bombs, equally densely populated cities like Gaza.[53]
Um, are you sure that you, Gordon and Perugini understand the concept of a "human shield"?

A "human shield" is not like a Spam shield, where what you're relying on is the impermeability of meat to supersonic metal projectiles. (You've probably never heard of Spam shields; that's because they don't work very well.) With a human shield, what you're relying on is not the mechanical difficulty of getting the attacker's weapon through the shield to the target; what you're relying on is the preference of the attacker not to kill the interposed human.

That is why Israeli citizens in densely populated areas like Tel Aviv are never spoken of as human shields.

This has gone on because the US provides cover at the UN which is the only institution that could reasonable achieve a peace agreement. The US and Israel on their own will never achieve one.

But the many and continual crimes of Israel would have to be recognized before a real peace could be made.

The crimes of resistance from the Palestinians are already well known.

I remember the horror of the suicide bombings inside Israeli cities.

Instead of ending them by making peace Israel built huge walls increased the oppression and stole more land.

Media bias in favor of Zionism used to be the profitable bias. Now, media bias in favor of Islamism is more profitable.
I've highlighted a phrase which surprised me. Which media is in favor of Islamism?

Just about everything. There are about 100x as many Muslims as Jews. There's no way to report so as to not repel one of those groups--thus they're going to pick the side with more eyeballs.

Also, the Palestinians are masters of staging situations--you need a lot more understanding to see what's going on, the Palestinian position doesn't require as much thought.

(I note that nobody figured out the building bombing video I posted was Pallywood.)

Except for the little detail that what I linked doesn't show the same thing.
Building collapse is real. Palewood special effects guys thought it was not effective enough and added additional explosions and fire.

"they're"

= they are

...

= who?

who is they?

the media.

Does anyone realize how weird it sounds when people talk about "the media" or "they?"

...

I mean, this is some crackpot shit here we're talking about. There have been more Muslims for a long time. A very long time. BUT there are more non-Muslims. And we're not talking about Muslims, but instead Islamists. Also, we were not talking about Jews, but instead Zionists.

This is just like two steps away from some Elders of Scion shit. Did you not read that first part: "Media bias in favor of Zionism used to be the profitable bias."

Whatever happened to taking a step back when you read something like this and just thinking about what you are reading?

This is some weird shit.

BLOWBACK: HOW ISRAEL WENT FROM HELPING CREATE HAMAS TO BOMBING IT

Hamas wants to destroy Israel, right? But as Mehdi Hasan shows in a new video on blowback, Israeli officials admit they helped start the group.

WHAT DO YOU know about Hamas?

That it’s sworn to destroy Israel? That it’s a terrorist group, proscribed both by the United States and the European Union? That it rules Gaza with an iron fist? That it’s killed hundreds of innocent Israelis with rocket, mortar, and suicide attacks?

But did you also know that Hamas — which is an Arabic acronym for “Islamic Resistance Movement” — would probably not exist today were it not for the Jewish state? That the Israelis helped turn a bunch of fringe Palestinian Islamists in the late 1970s into one of the world’s most notorious militant groups? That Hamas is blowback?

This isn’t a conspiracy theory. Listen to former Israeli officials such as Brig. Gen. Yitzhak Segev, who was the Israeli military governor in Gaza in the early 1980s. Segev later told a New York Times reporter that he had helped finance the Palestinian Islamist movement as a “counterweight” to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah party, led by Yasser Arafat (who himself referred to Hamas as “a creature of Israel.”)

“The Israeli government gave me a budget,” the retired brigadier general confessed, “and the military government gives to the mosques.”

“Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel’s creation,” Avner Cohen, a former Israeli religious affairs official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009. Back in the mid-1980s, Cohen even wrote an official report to his superiors warning them not to play divide-and-rule in the Occupied Territories, by backing Palestinian Islamists against Palestinian secularists. “I … suggest focusing our efforts on finding ways to break up this monster before this reality jumps in our face,” he wrote.

And how many people in Israel are having the darnedest time getting re-elected and can use this arbitrary violence as an attempt at finally winning a majority in Government?

All of these attacks by Israel are to accomplish what? Hamas isn't going to stop existing. This won't weaken Hamas. The Israelis aren't going to be safer, the danger to them now is about what it was a month ago. Israel, at some point will stop the military strikes. And there will be a return to the status quo, with nearly nothing different but a few dozen dead Israelis (fewer than those killed in a the self-imposed stampede) and about 5x to 10x dead Palestinians. There again is no end game with these military strikes.

I can't say I knew about this, but I can't say it surprises me either.

My own country has a history of supporting violence and tyranny when it suits their short term goals, only to have it bite them in the ass over the long term.

Nothing to see there Ziprbro. Every country highers the rogues of their enemies to do their dirty work.

And Israel not sharing sensitive intelligence data is evidence it wasn't??

Israel refers to these strikes as mowing the grass. They know it won't stop Hamas, the intent is to keep the level of violence down.

I've long thought that sharing useful intelligence was the main reason U.S. Presidents haven't insisted on Israel behaving more humanely if they want to continue receiving the huge aid they get from U.S.

Is this not the case? Then shame on the U.S. for continuing to enable hideous monsters like Netanyahu.

Trump had a nasty habit of leaking intelligence we got from Israel for political purposes. It may be a while before Israel trusts the U.S. again...

Good thing he's not getting the intelligence briefings former presidents used to get. Right right?
