I saw him interviewed by Jon Stewart and he was great. He has a wonderful sense of humor and was laughing about all the assholes who have accused him of so many horrible things. He is very charismatic and bright. Good you get to vote for him. We need more politicians with his courage and willingness to help the poor and the middle class, instead of the wealthy assholes who are now ruining the country.

Meanwhile, I mentioned on another thread that a stupid nurse I worked with briefly had posted on Facebook that she's praying Mamdani will lose. Stupid Trump supporter. Doesn't she realize that is Jesus were around, he'd vote for Mamdani since the two of them have a lot in common, even if Jesus was a mythological character. I just don't get such stupidity.
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER * In the spirit of George Carlin and Christopher Hitchens, the son of a former Catholic nun and a Franciscan brother delivers a deeply irreverent and biblically correct takedown of far-right Christian hatred—a book for believers, atheists, agnostics, and anyone who’ll ever have to deal with a Christian nationalist.
The author of that book was on one of the late night shows a few weeks ago. I've thought abut getting it for my kindle, but there are so many books I'd like to read so not sure if I'll get that one.I saw him interviewed by Jon Stewart and he was great. Another Mamdani puff piece, this time focusing on his Islamic faith. And too many on this supposedly freethinker forum are eating it up with a spoon. SMH.
I do not think he is very bright, because otherwise he would not espouse cockamamie ideas like freezing rents. He also had an academically less than rigorous major in college (Africana Studies). He has also been, from all accounts, a pretty unimpressive state legislator.I saw him interviewed by Jon Stewart and he was great. I do not think his policies will help the "poor and the middle class". A lot will also depend on how steadfast Hochul is, because many of his proposals require assent from Albany. Unfortunately, she may fear a primary challenge from the Left and thus be inclined to roll over and submit.Good you get to vote for him. You don't have to be a Trump supporter to reject Mamdani, both his socialism and his hatred of Israel.Meanwhile, I mentioned on another thread that a stupid nurse I worked with briefly had posted on Facebook that she's praying Mamdani will lose. Stupid Trump supporter.
Why do you think Jesus would vote for Mamdani? And which Jesus do you mean? The Second Person of the Trinity or the Judean carpenter? Or the hypostatic union of the two?Doesn't she realize that is Jesus were around, he'd vote for Mamdani since the two of them have a lot in common, even if Jesus was a mythological character. I’m sure she wishes they had that in common.Doesn't she realize that is Jesus were around, he'd vote for Mamdani since the two of them have a lot in common, even if Jesus was a mythological character.
Another Mamdani puff piece, …
Two new polls released on Thursday showed Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani maintaining or expanding his sizable lead in the New York City mayoral race, as the two other major candidates strive for a late surge in the final days of the campaign.
A poll by Emerson College showed 50 percent of likely voters supporting Mr. Mamdani, the Democratic front-runner, who has led the field since his upset victory in the June primary. His main rival, former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, had the support of 25 percent of likely voters, a few points ahead of Curtis Sliwa, the Republican nominee, at 21 percent.
The other poll, by Marist University, showed Mr. Mamdani with a 16-point lead and as the only candidate viewed favorably by a majority of likely voters. The poll also showed a closer race in a hypothetical matchup between Mr. Cuomo and Mr. Mamdani, with Mr. Cuomo trailing by just seven points.
On Wednesday, Mr. Cuomo and Mr. Sliwa campaigned on Staten Island, looking to attract Republicans and independents, and Mr. Mamdani traveled to the Bronx to court voters who cast their ballots for Donald J. Trump last year. On Thursday, the candidates — and voters — are facing rain and blustery winds, with up to two inches of rain in Manhattan. though the campaigns said the weather would not dissuade them.
