Given his low popularity and all the outraged people at him being president, what are the odds of Trump being offed? Maybe by a government agency. This could be the new JFK type conspiracy. They should be very careful with security for this president. I think he's far more at risk than Obama was even at the height of the racist stuff going around.

Most of the truly dangerous hotheads who would be the most likely to shoot a President are amongst his strongest support base. The worst he needs to worry about from the people who hate him is finding himself on the receiving end of a snarky tweet. Also, the people who own the government agencies are going to be making out like bandits with Trump in charge as he dumps a few tons more sludge into the swamp, so they're not going to be part of any conspiracy against him either.

Even among those who know it would be better for one person to spend their life in prison or be executed for such an act than live in a world where that jackass is president are generally smart enough to realize that doing so would just put Pence in his place, which is arguably worse.
Bodies would need to be stacked quite high before an acceptable person ended up in the oval office, and I would think this is by design. The only worse options for president are exactly the options we get if people get trigger happy.

But when they feel betrayed? That's when the assassin might show up.
But the reason that they were betrayed was because of everybody except Trump. Fox News and Breitbart were very clear on this matter every time the Trump Administration went and did the exact opposite of something they campaigned on doing. Trump has been on their side the entire time - and I don't want you going around responding to that by linking to a clear and straightforward statement by Trump which proves the exact opposite like some kind of "fact checker" or other such nonsense.

I think the chances of Hillary catching a bullet might be higher. There's a lot of Trumpsuckers out there that are royally pissed that Trump has dropped plans to have Hillary prosecuted.

I agree with Loren - it ain't Hillary's fault that Trump turned his back on Justice, that's Trump's broken promise! Trumpsuckers will have legitimate gripes about unfulfilled promises, and pre-existing license to address their grievances with a "second amendment solution".
As far as the odds... pretty long, but maybe one our English forum members could check the betting boards?

You don't think radical leftists are capable of political violence? In PD I had started a thread about commutation of Judith Clark's sentence. She was involved with Weather Underground who worked with Black Liberation Army. These leftists terror groups murdered cops, robbed banks and planted bombs. So why do you think leftist radicals would be beyond trying to assassinate a president they hate?
I'd bet heavily that there will be attempts on Trump's life. The question is whether his bodyguards are up for the job to protect him.

That is exactly why he is at risk. The Deep State doesn't want him, they don't know if they can control him and fear they can't. He's in a particularly good position to disrupt a lot of establishment power.
From history I learned that the last president capable of cutting the defense budget was Eisenhower because anyone accusing him of being soft on defense would look an utter fool. Trump isn't in that category, he knows that his detractors will never give him any credit for anything he does, so he has no reason to try to please them. I'm not referring to the average voter, I'm referring to the movers and shakers within the government.
He has the potential to be very inconvenient to those who seek power for themselves. And they don't like being inconvenienced.
