He'll certainly make nice with the EU. He is for adopting the EU currency. He is against fast tracking Ukraine into the EU. He is not outright opposed to Ukraine's ascension. He said Ukraine's candidacy for EU membership "does not correspond to the values, principles, or regulations of the European Union" so we can assume from this Hungary most definitely will. Magyar and Ursula von der Leyen are both members of the European People's Party so hopefully this brings a good working relationship.
Conservative and a bit nationalistic but head and shoulders above Orban.

And Orban didn't work for Russia in the same manner Lukashenko doesn't work for Russia.

Oh, and about that. Did you know 65% of under 30 y o voters in Hungary voted for Tisza/Magyar? Do you think they had “ younger version of Orban” in mind when they did so? Do you think Tisza/Magyar will stay in power if that is what they get? With Orban they got low wages, inflation, corruption, and failing healthcare and education systems. This is what people the world over will vote against every time.
Do not look past how tilted the playing field was for Fideaz/Orban in this election they lost. It showed every authoritarian around the world that rigging the system is not enough.
If Magyar turns out to be an Orban Mini Me, he had better be prepared to imprison and poison the opposition in order to stay in power.
I’m not worried about it though. I really think Magyar is sincere about being pro EU.

Annexation of Crimea was the result of removal of Yanukovych, who was later replaced by Poroshenko.
NATO tried it in Iran too, but failed.

Actually it was tilted for Magyar. It just how gerrymandering works. You risk crashing defeat in order to have crashing victory.
