Pelosi: Impeachment Is Moving Forward

The question is, will all of this poop out and fade away over the next few weeks? Or will it take on a life of it's own and doom the chances of Trump's re-election.

I mean, there's a lot of things that could happen. It could take a life of it's own and doom the chances of ousting Trump. Politically, it seems like a crapshoot.

I tend to agree that it has to be done, though. But man, it's gonna be a wild ride.

Pelosi is tired of trying to rein in the radicals of her party. They've been trying to impeach since day one. She knows what a mess it would be.

So she's letting this go forward, so that her Democrat opponents can make as big a case as they can over this, so that when Trump releases the transcript the radical Democrats all look even more foolish than before.

Plus, by trying to impeach Trump over Biden's political dealings, there is either some inoculation of Biden against these charges or there is a way to get him out of the way for Warren.

That full transcript wasn't coming out until Pelosi made the symbolic maneuver. It still hasn't technically been released yet, or the restrictions they could release it.

This could backfire spectacularly. Make sure it's done right. If they try and fail to impeach him that will only mobilize votes in his favour. If you pull the trigger make sure you have a kill shot.

Trump's approval ratings were up to 48% this week. Will the impeachment help reelect Trump? It's very difficult to understand how so many people continue to support this horrible, incompetent man, but I've already seen Trump 2020 signs and a man wearing a Trump t-shirt in the last few days. What is wrong with these people!

Trump talked with Ukraine, there was a whistleblowing event, the Trump Admin interfered (obstructed) with the claim being released through the proper channels. Trump denied everything, then parts, then admitted to most of it and we are stuck with the final piece over how the funding to Ukraine was delayed the week his call to Ukraine is made and only pushed through when the Senate got involved.

So that is either long-term false flag bullshit, or Trump did something really wrong and they are desperate to create this Biden shield to protect him. After all, if they knew Biden was dirty, they wouldn't need Ukraine to act, and they could use the info down the road. The Trump Admin is in panic spin mode and the only two things saving them are the GOP and Americans that have lost their fucking minds.

Pelosi is extremely shrewd and meticulous. She has to know more at this point, specifically info on the funding to Ukraine or quotes.

Yes, failing on this kills our country and applications to move to Canada will skyrocket.

Love how after two fucking years of Mueller gathering evidence against Trump, during which time he was repeatedly accused of rape, presided over the barbaric imprisonment of migrants that continues to this day, and flagrantly violated the emoluments clause multiple times, picking on Biden's corrupt failson was the straw that broke the camel's back.

It's not Trump they're supporting, it's the Idea Of Trump. The lone outsider, the non-politician, the self-made billionaire, the 'tells it like it is' champion of the blue collar, bullied by the Deep State, but still in there, swinging.

He could shoot someone on 5th avenue, and my family many of his voters would insist that the gun was shot by Hillary, placed into Trump's hands by Obama, while Biden was calling the cops.

Yes. Trump isn't the movement, he is just riding off of it. But boy, since Palin, has this movement exploded and looks to engulf the nation.

Yes they would, but only after having been told to by Hannity, Levin, and company.

No... it was the 'bribing' of the nation of Ukraine to dig up dirt on a political opponent that did it. The Emoluments thing is a red herring, at this point, as it slowly meanders through the courts.

Mueller gave Congress a document to impeach with. The GOP had other ideas. Makes me ponder if Barr will provide the nation with a 'review' of the transcript.

Trump isn’t panicking. Trump doesn’t give a shit. He knows he could shoot someone on fifth avenue and Republican Senators won’t vote to impeach him. This will go nowhere fast. Well maybe slowly.

Which he was fucking doing with Clinton since before being elected and nothing happened!

I gotta wonder about the Republicans, who now admit (from Cheato's own mouth):

* Trump withheld almost $400m in military aid to Ukraine without providing any reason, and while he was withholding it,
* Demanded at least 8 times that Ukraine's leader investigate Trump's political opponent.

Those are facts, agreed upon by everyone. And they are sufficient cause to remove the corrupt son of a bitch from office.
But Republicans say they want more facts, and are touting the coming "transcript" which will not be a transcript, but rather a summation of what Republicans wish he had said and implied. Knowledge of guilt is affirmed by Trump's shifting excuses for trying to bribe a foreign power with taxpayer money to advance his own domestic political agenda.

First he cited Ukranian corruption (after the fact) as an excuse for withholding the aid payment, then changed his "reason" to the assertion (lie) that Europe wasn't paying them ENOUGH. (European countries actually gave Ukraine more than 3 times what the US did in 2016-17.)

Trump says he's not concerned, which is of course why he placed this call to Pelosi:

Trump: Can we do something about this whistleblower thing - can we work something out?
Nancy: Yes, you can tell your people to obey the law.

Hail President Pence!

It's really not that much of a change, just now it hears have the imprimatur of impeachment. Good move from a media perspective.

But I agree that moving too fast is a mistake. Because the important thing now is to convince voters that impeachment is necessary. If enough voters come around, Senators will follow.

The transcript is here.

"The other thing, There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it ... It sounds horrible to me."
