An Iraq War veteran who was killed in the Planned Parenthood shooting ran back inside the building after being shot to warn others to take cover, his brother told NBC News.

Chandler said it was his sibling's Army experience that prompted his final act of heroism.

"I believe that's his military instinct, you know: Leave no soldier behind, leave no civilian behind, just leave no one behind," an emotional Chandler said. "So he ran back inside, trying to help out others. I don't know where he was at, as far as how many more breaths he had, but he knew. And before his time ran out I guess that was his main priority ... to help and save other lives."

This is very true. He busted into the building yelling and ranting about how someone is coming to "get them". Only reasonable conclusion was that he was crazy and better to shoot him first than wait to find out if he had a gun on him.

I wouldn't go that far. People of moderate views with reasonable elasticity of thought to understand that there are degrees of difference tend to not be extreme in the scope of word usage, and instead of broadening the scope beyond reasonable limits, they look to other terms to encompass the extreme ends; however, people angered by the wrongs of others tend (in the usage of terms) broaden the scope beyond what might otherwise be reasonable. The prevailing result tends to side with those extreme in thought and the evolution of meaning more often favors those most emotionally charged by the wrongs of others. The consequences are outlandish stipulative meanings that goes beyond what people might otherwise have regarded as common sense. An example would be a legal definition of kidnapping. Another example would be a legal definition of terrorism.

When blocking someone from exiting a building for two seconds is kidnapping, and when threatening to beat someone up is terrorism, it might very well fit the newly broadened scope of what terms have been redefined to mean, but to say it's common sense is a bit much.

I disagree. You can have a lone terrorist. The essence of terrorism is scaring the people into doing what you want. It's hard for a lone person to accomplish much without getting caught but that doesn't mean it's not terrorism.
