President Trump on verge of death! ... well... I have to assume.

I genuinely do not understand how so many people within the party—some of whom are quite intelligent and some who are also service minded have failed in their duty to prevent this disastrous, dangerous second term.
This reminds me of Alan Greenspan's statement to Congress, during the 2008 financial meltdown:
"Those of us who have looked to the self-interest of lending institutions to protect shareholders' equity -- myself especially -- are in a state of shocked disbelief."
In other words, who would have believed that the class that made their livelihoods (and fortunes) off the market could game the system until it exploded?
I don't expect even that amount of self-analysis and revelation from the castrati that surround Trump. What's a weasel like Lindsey Graham supposed to do, revert to his 2015/early 2016 assessment of Trump, and tell us that he lost his senses for a while?
(Greenspan, I believe, saw the vast destruction of the economy in 2008-09 and was still opposed to vigorous regulation.)

I will say again that I believe that this time next year, he will no longer be POTUS—and that has been the plan all along. Not his plan but Peter Thiel’s plan. The party’s plan.

I think they figured they could control him.
Nah, they just figured they could exploit the chaos he produced.

And they have.
Yes, but the war is costing them suppprt for the party. It can’t go on much longer.
Getting out of a war is not as easy as it might sound. Particularly if the country you went to war on behalf of has no intention of withdrawing. Even Democrats are afraid to say or do anything that would upset Israel.

Also, kind of difficult since there's a political "hot potato" situation going on around that I keep mentioning, about Israel: whoever "betrays Israel" after any kind of overture about building it will have done the one thing that rabid masses of believers think will signify the embodiment of all evil.

As long as even a plurality of voters are Christian, and are even vaguely aware of the idea "the Antichrist is someone who betrays Israel after a promise of rebuilding it", it's more that the Democrats can't take any significant act to censure Israel.

Someone else has to do it, literally. The UN could do it. Hell China could do it (and if they did, they might actually get their hands on Taiwan).

But the US, because of our religious Christian population, has generated a situation where neither party can outright withdraw support from Israel.

Democrats could accomplish periods of drawing down, when they are in power, but the Republicans want to force the people ostensibly dedicated to doing the right thing into doing a "right thing" that puts them in the way of a political suicide. For every half step back the Democrats could take over decades of effort, the Republicans take a fair sprint sprint of damage when they get the reigns because they need take no care in their direction.

It is not a politically stable situation.
