• Welcome to the Internet Infidels Discussion Board.

Republican Senators, worse than Snowflakes, squash free speech

You just did. In fact, you brought it up.

I brought up a hypothetical situation.

Don Don called the moderators of this forum fascists.

I would point out the rule in question, but I'm not allowed to discuss the rules.

He did not say anything about this forum. He answered your hypothetical.
You were just being funny to say that, right? You didn't actually believe it? Please say you were just being funny.

I thought the most likely explanation is that the protest was infiltrated by anarchists. What are anarchists if they are not left-wing agitators? The violence may not have been from the original left-wing protesters, but I think it is still accurate to assign the violence to left-wing activists, if the violence was indeed perpetrated by anarchists.

And why is the world magically divided into left and right?

Did I say it was? I don't believe in magic, and I acknowledge the existence of centrists.

Left is left, right is right, anarchist is anarchist.

And anarchists are generally considered to be left-wing, though apparently some come from the right.

If anything, the anarchist protesters seem to help the right so where does that suggest they really are?

I would say they helped both sides. The left-wing, non-violent protesters at Berkeley got what they wanted as a result of the anarchist violence, Milo did not speak at Berkeley. The right-wing got what they wanted, cover for their narrative that the student protesters were violent and against free speech.

I'm not allowed to discuss whether a forummer might have been goading another forummer.

I'm also not allowed to discuss why exactly it is that I'm not allowed to discuss it.

There is a difference between satire, irony and just plain fucking stupid. Please learn it.

So if a moderator is being considered for promotion and all other moderators get to comment on it, but they can't because the rules don't allow it, you're okay with Fascism.

Sorry, I'm not allowed to comment on moderation.

You are taking the rules out of context, just like Fascist McConnell, which isn't really surprising if one thinks about it.

LD, this is the guy who mistook my play on words for an unintended misspelling. He likely doesn't have the intellectual ability to distinguish between literary concepts like these.

The point --->

I wasn't talking about centrists, I was talking about attempting to shoehorn the world into a left/right spectrum.

The left wing protesters were hurt a lot more than they were helped. The Black Bloc is an organized group that has the net effect of making the left look bad. If they're on anybody's side I would say it's the right--and I rather suspect somebody is funding them.

There are two kinds of people - those who believe there are two kinds of people and the world can be shoehorned into a left/right spectrum, and those who don't.
Me? I'm the first kind. I absolutely KNOW there are two kinds of people - those who believe the world can be shoehorned into a left/right spectrum, and those who don't.

Not really on topic for this thread but just wondering: how do you get 100-150 anarchists to show up at the same time/same place wearing the same outfits? Doesn't that sort of conformity goes against the whole anarchist thing?

How would people know they were anarchists if they didn't wear the uniform?

Ooh, good question! Very meta.

Of course, the problem with unmoderated speech in a given institution is you soon find yourself overrun by total and complete asshole douchebags who have such high propensity to fling about insults that they can barely focus on whether they are insulting the right person.

Like say one of the guys in this thread who is a totally mindless idiot douchebag asshole fuckhead:

I think the multidimensional irony of this response hides its utter cluelessness.

I wasn't talking about centrists, I was talking about attempting to shoehorn the world into a left/right spectrum.

In that case, please inform me as to which side of this presumed left/right spectrum I was attempting to shoehorn centrists into.

This is a tacit admission that they helped both sides, contrary to your previous statement. Please note that I did not say that they helped both sides equally.
