Running for mayor while white

Hasn't it occurred to anyone that it is not unlikely that Mr. Brown is suffering from a serious mental illness?
If he is, that would be all the more reason not to release him into the world. He has definitely demonstrated to be a danger to others.
However, I do not think he has been diagnosed with any particular mental illness. Do you excuse other (attempted) killers like that or just leftist/black ones?

And why hasn't Derec decried the seven year sentence handed down to Dan White, who assassinated Harvey Milk, and George Mascone? Especially since he planned to kill two additional people.
That was over 40 years ago. What a timely reference!
It seemed up your alley.

At the writing of the OP title (and this post), there is no indication race had anything to do with this attack.
A #BLM/black nationalist activists tries to shoot a white Jewish candidate and you do not think race had anything to do with it?

Would you be thinking the same if a white nationalist shot a black mayoral candidate?

Here's the link directly from University of Louisville, not cache. Where did you get information that the page was scrubbed?
That page returned a 404 error when I wrote the OP. Either there was an unrelated website problem, or, much more likely, somebody hastily scrubbed it and then they thought better of it.

You could have made an error, your computer or network could have done something weird, you could be remembering wrongly, or they could have had a weird website problem or site maintenance. I think it's your side of the fence because your cached link in the op is from the same day as your op and my link was checked just 8 hours after your op. In any case, you could review your internet browser history.

The CNN article is relatively short but gives a direct link to another article from a different site that mentions Brown's activism and "social justice" yada yada yada. It ought to be obvious that is likely BLM in context. No?
So why was CNN reluctant to state the shooter's #BLM affiliations? They surely would not have been so coy if he was a Proud Boy or something.

You are adding emotion and intent speak. This article was a description of the event with very little description of suspect because focus was the incident not a background profile of suspect. They provided a direct link to more info on the suspect for people who wanted to read more on the suspect. As discussed, that info includes social justice and activism.

I don't disagree with this being questionable and your use of the phrase "attempted assassin," BUT I find your implicit declaration of guilt to be logically inconsistent with screaming in the past about how white males charged with crimes are just "suspects" and this difference seems to be a common theme with your posts.
There isn't any doubt that he was the one who tried to murder Greenberg. That is very different than cases that basically boil down to "he said, she said".
Rather than be political,
But this is a political assassination and thus it is political.
As is the group who bailed him out.
As is the media downplaying this attempted assassination or the evils of black nationalism.

in the case of Chauvin who murdered Floyd that we observed in a video.
These two cases are very different. Regarding intent, motivation (race, religion) etc.
Race, religion are irrelevant to whether someone is a murderer.

Another day, another "BLM are bad, m-kay" thread by Derec. *yawn*

I don't know if it did nor not. Maybe it did, maybe it didn't. Do you have any actual sourced information now to support your assertion?
Would you be thinking the same if a white nationalist shot a black mayoral candidate?
#BLM or black nationalists are not necessarily racists. In my experience, white nationalists are racists. So I reject your loaded question.

Development: the hapless #BLM assassin was charged federally and taken into custody.

Federal charges filed against man accused of shooting at Louisville mayoral candidate

WDRB41 said:
The man charged with shooting at a Louisville mayoral candidate in February has been indicted by a federal grand jury.
Quintez Brown 21, was arrested by federal officers Wednesday night on a sealed warrant.
Brown had been on home incarceration with an ankle monitor, having been released on Feb. 16 after the Louisville Community Bail Fund posted his $100,000 bond.
The indictment was unsealed Thursday afternoon. It charges Brown with interfering with a federally protected right, discharging a firearm during a violent crime and attempting to kill a candidate for elective office.
[...]
Prosecutors plan to ask the judge to keep Brown in custody pending trial. He will remain incarcerated at least until a bond hearing next week. If convicted, Brown faces a minimum of ten years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.

His lawyer was quick to play the race card, of course.
Attorney Rob Eggert, who represents Brown, said federal agents took Brown from his grandmother's home on Wednesday, as a helicopter circled above.
"We had zero notice federal authorities were going to do this," he told U.S. District Judge Colin Lindsay on Thursday.
[...]
In a federal hearing on Thursday, attorneys for Brown argued federal court did not have jurisdiction over Brown and asked that the case be dismissed.
"We believe this prosecution ... is politically and racially motivated," Eggert said.

I missed this thread until it got bumped. What's the point of such Threads anyway? "Oooh ooh! Look here! Out of 300+ million Americans, one is mentally ill. Guess what color is skin is?? Guess? Hunh?"

So why was CNN reluctant to state the shooter's #BLM affiliations? They surely would not have been so coy if he was a Proud Boy or something.
Is CNN really so "leftish" as to be so "coy"? (I don't know; I ignore ALL of the popular American news channels.) Media Bias Chart 9.0 shows CNN (Web) roughly midway between Salon and WSJ.

Given how quickly the OP played the #BLM card, this is incredibly ironic.

He tried to assassinate a candidate for mayor. He is a #BLM activist, and he expressed anti-Semitic statements online (and his would-be victim is Jewish).
I would say that that makes it relevant to the Politics forum. That you are trying to dismiss it is the very reason why the thread is necessary.

If a white right-winger tried to assassinate a candidate for office, would you be this dismissive? Probably not.

WSJ is center-right while Salon is very left. So even being midway between the two puts you on the left. But CNN's bias is not even across the board. They tend to be very biased on #BLM issues, more than on most others. Take a load of this gem, where they outright lied and deceptively edited video:

I don't know what that crap is, but www.ocubee.com tried to download malware. It's certainly not a trustworthy site!
