Sen. Feinstein Claims She Received Info On Kavanaugh And Sent It To FBI

Good article by Lili Loofbourow at Slate: Brett Kavanaugh and the Cruelty of Male Bonding

Slate said:
For what it’s worth, and absent evidence or allegations to the contrary, I believe Brett Kavanaugh’s claim that he was a virgin through his teens. I believe it in part because it squares with some of the oddities I’ve had a hard time understanding about his alleged behavior: namely, that both allegations are strikingly different from other high-profile stories the past year, most of which feature a man and a woman alone. And yet both the Kavanaugh accusations share certain features: There is no penetrative sex, there are always male onlookers, and, most importantly, there’s laughter. In each case the other men—not the woman—seem to be Kavanaugh’s true intended audience. In each story, the cruel and bizarre act the woman describes—restraining Christine Blasey Ford and attempting to remove her clothes in her allegation, and in Deborah Ramirez’s, putting his penis in front of her face—seems to have been done in the clumsy and even manic pursuit of male approval. Even Kavanaugh’s now-notorious yearbook page, with its references to the “100 kegs or bust” and the like, seems less like an honest reflection of a fun guy than a representation of a try-hard willing to say or do anything as long as his bros think he’s cool. In other words: The awful things Kavanaugh allegedly did only imperfectly correlate to the familiar frame of sexual desire run amok; they appear to more easily fit into a different category—a toxic homosociality—that involves males wooing other males over the comedy of being cruel to women

This part of the article makes a very good point about Kavanaugh's choir boy act on Fox:

It goes without saying, I hope, that virgins are perfectly capable of doing everything Kavanaugh has so far been accused of. Offering a detail that personal was not only meant to be exculpatory in a specific sense; it was also deployed to counter an emerging image of Kavanaugh as a sleazy frat guy like his close friend and classmate Mark Judge. But he overshot the mark. If you’re going by his reactions in the Fox News interview, Kavanaugh’s wounded astonishment at the very existence of bad behavior would mean he couldn’t have known his good friend Mark Judge, who has written plenty about his own, very well at all. Kavanaugh’s strategy, in other words, was to present himself as all innocence: not just a virgin, but a virgin who’s never even heard of—let alone done!—some of the things he’s accused of. Everyone says so: “The women I knew in college and the men I knew in college said that it’s inconceivable that I could’ve done such a thing,” he said to Fox’s Martha MacCallum of Ramirez’s allegation.

This is an unwise thing to claim; first, because what people say you’re capable of isn’t actually proof of what you did or didn’t do, and second, because it happens to be untrue.

You mean Kavanaugh was the dorky one, while his buddy Mark Judge was the Aaron Eckhart character?

Actually, to have been the beta bitch to Mark Judge is even more embarrassing for Kavanaugh than being moderately skeezy on his own terms.

Also, I think that there was a way for him to have handled this by being honest about being a horny teenager at one point. All men are at 17 barring a hormonal deficiency. Young, dumb and full of cum is a phrase for a reason.

I was trying to add up how many lives Kavanaugh has harmed with his USSC bid.

In addition to the death threats and harassment Blasey Ford and Ramirez have been facing, I found myself almost feeling sorry for Judge. Then there are all of the friends and schoolmates of all of these people who are now being hounded by media.

I just can't imagine living my life in pleasant obscurity, and then being forced into a nightmare like this.

You're blaming Kavanaugh for this circus? FFS.

So you think the victims should have remained silent.

Yes, generally when you rape and/or sexually assault multiple women, all the resulting fallout is going to be your fault, especially when you seek positions of high prestige and said women take affront to the idea of seeing their rapist placed in said position.

Who are you blaming? The woman, for dressing provocatively? The woman, for attending a party where sexual predators abounded? The woman, for staying silent for so many years?
Or maybe it's the dreaded FAKE NEWS media, for pretending to believe her?
Couldn't possibly be the perp's fault, could it?
Some day, if you live long enough, you'll realize how badly you've been brainwashed.

Avenatti's witness is out. She says she witnessed numerous times both Kavanaugh and Judge drinking heavily, being overly aggressive toward girls, not taking no for an answer, grinding against girls and exposing himself.

She has made this claim in a signed legal affidavit to the FBI.

So you have already decided he is guilty. We have to believe the victims, right? He may be guilty, but should we not give the man a fair trial before declaring he is responsible for everything?

More fuel on the fire, but no smoking gun. I'm not certain how many more women need to come forth before he needs to drop out? Whoever paid off his debt must really want him on the bench.

Would you rather I add in an 'allegedly'? We now have another, pretty much inimpugnable account of his actions. There is direct witness testimony that he raped multiple women. I am going to, at this point, take the tried and true 'trust but verify' approach.

Firstly, this isn't a trial. This about determining if this guy should be on the highest court in our nation. Much higher bar needs to be cleared!

So, if this third accusation is even in the ball park of being true (I remain agnostic) then at the least Kavanaugh was a hanger on of a very sleazy group of guys.

Now, what place on the moral spectrum at the best case of this does this place the teenage Kavanaugh? Ten being a really nice and empathetic guy and zero being a serial killer?

I would say that he was maybe a 4 at best and a 1 at worst.

Even with just the yearbook stuff he was at a 3.

If this can allegation be strongly corroborated - especially locations, he should go.

But as Copernicus said earlier, he should be gone for other reasons.

If this is a hit job, this is even worse that Kavanaugh's crappy middle aged personality already is.

When you allegedly do those things, the resulting fallout is going to be your fault? No, your sentence was fine. It was your application of it here that indicated you have your mind made up.

Except that I don't, except to the extent that the evidence warrants: many women have come forward with credible claims upon which their futures hinge. These are consistent with the position to "trust but verify". Trusting has happened (I TRUST that he did it), now I'm calling for verification (FBI investigation and questioning).

If he did it, this is all his fault. At any rate, the solution is to get Judge (lol, that name tho) on a stand and under oath, and BK as well.

WaPos posted Kav's calendar from 1982. It's full of parties. Hahahaha. This man is really an idiot if he thinks that calendar is going to help people believe he's telling the truth. He's a liar, and he doesn't belong on the SCOTUS. Even his college and high school friends are saying he's not the innocent man that he claims he is, plus there is plenty of evidence that he's lied about a lot of other things. He's not on trial. He's just on an interview for a life long appointment to the most powerful court in the US. Is this the best we can do? He's not qualified. I'm sure Trump and the Heritage Foundation can find some other ultra conservative man who hasn't been a rapist. Well, maybe.

If Kav had an ounce of decency, he's simply withdraw his name in the interest of the country. He would do that even if he believes he's innocent. But no! Power means to much to
much to people like him.
