Sen. Feinstein Claims She Received Info On Kavanaugh And Sent It To FBI

I'd just like to chime in to say kudos to the FBI for doing such a bang up job with its first background check.

Nothing like having a bunch of entitled white guys verify that the other entitled white guy is good people.

In before the "Why were they going to parties where they rape girls?"

All young men need to sow their wild oats. Good girls (the kind you marry) know to stay away from these parties. Then, after these boys get it out of their system (ha-ha) and are ready to settle down, the good girls are there waiting for them to make nice homes and raise families. The bad girls end up in bad neighborhoods with lots of babies and cry about wanting the rest of us to support them. All because they couldn't keep their legs together.

The Judicial Crisis Network is the organization that Republicans have chosen to promote Kavanaugh's candidacy. Even they seem to have had enough. The are calling for further investigation of the man that they have hitherto backed to the hilt. They were singing the same chorus until now--that these women are engaged in a giant smear campaign in connection with Democratic efforts to derail a qualified candidate. Now they are worried that Kavanaugh has been less than forthcoming.

I am now much more optimistic that the Kavanaugh freight train can be derailed by the sex scandal than I was before. My reasoning is that the third allegation by Avenatti's client is too sensational to ignore, even if it were a hoax. There is no deadline to confirm Kavanaugh, so they have plenty of time to depose her and other material witnesses. Her charge is not that Kavanaugh and Judge raped her but that they participated in organized gang rapes, by one of which she also claims to have been victimized.

What I think will happen now is that Senator Flake, at least, will join with Democrats not to endorse Kavanaugh. Murkowski is also on record as being negative on the way Republicans are handling this. Mitch McConnell could bring the nomination to a floor vote, but, without the necessary votes to pass it, he would likely not do that. To do so would be to commit Republican senators to taking a stand on the issue.

We are still on track to see Blasey Ford rocketed through her pre-arranged rigged hearing tomorrow (Thursday), but I would not be surprised if that were cancelled. The nomination process is in such bad shape that I will be surprised to see McConnell bring it to a floor vote. It could be political suicide for Republican senators to vote for confirmation without further investigation. They can confirm Kavanaugh in the lame duck session, if they want to let this cloud hang over them during the October campaigns. Trump's best option is to withdraw the nomination.

ETA: Collins has now begun to make noises against the rush to confirmation. The third allegation unnerved her, because Avenatti's client has submitted a sworn affidavit that makes her liable for perjury if false. So three Republican senators may now be in opposition: Flake, Collins, and Murkowski.

My understanding is that Kavanaugh is red meat to the base, who need motivation. Backing down will give disgusted GOPers two reasons to stay home.

The latest I've seen is Grassley saying the vote is still scheduled for Fri morning.

And now another accuser, and this incident is from 1998. He was drunk this time too.

He's done.

He's done.

Listening to MSNBC. This report is an anonymous (so far) complaint, Kavanaugh was witnessed to have physically abused a young woman outside DC bar. The anonymous woman is the mother of one of the eyewitnesses. There are 4 known witnesses. Kavanaugh was drunk at the time.

A third woman has sworn she witnessed getting young women drunk and gang raped.

Today, Trump called all of these witnesses as "A big fat con job".

And then there were 4! Another Kavanaugh accuser steps into the light....

And this one was while he was in his 30s....nowhere to hide now. I hope the fucker is prosecuted and goes to jail.

Yet another report of Kavanaugh's activities

So, for the record, the report from Senator Whitehouse states, “Senator Whitehouse received a call this morning from a Rhode Island constituent [unnamed] who made allegations regarding U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. [Unnamed] reported that early on a Sunday morning in August of 1985, a close acquaintance of the constituent was sexually assaulted by two heavily inebriated men she referred to at the time as Brett and Mark.”

Thanks. Here is the relevant portion, for those who don't read it:

According to an anonymous complaint sent to Republican Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado, Kavanaugh physically assaulted a woman he socialized with in the Washington, D.C., area in 1998 while he was inebriated.

The sender of the complaint described an evening involving her own daughter, Kavanaugh and several friends in 1998.

“When they left the bar (under the influence of alcohol) they were all shocked when Brett Kavanaugh, shoved her friend up against the wall very aggressively and sexually.”

“There were at least four witnesses including my daughter.” The writer of the letter provided no names but said the alleged victim was still traumatized and had decided to remain anonymous herself.
