So, besides voting (it's too late), What can we do?

(1) Never vote for a Republican, ever again.
(2) Register Republican and vote against the incumbents in the primary.
I did, and Rump still got nominated. )-:
So what CAN we do?
Your title asks for suggestions besides voting, but then you proceed to list two voting related things.

I would suggest maybe the Democrats do a little post mortem analysis from the last election and revamp their party to be more in line with what most Democrat voters want, but that would just be crazy talk.

Democratic Party Handed Polling Blow on Heels of Second Trump Term

In the Quinnipiac poll released on Wednesday, 31 percent of voters have a favorable view of the Democratic Party, compared to 57 percent holding an unfavorable view.

"This is the highest percentage of voters having an unfavorable opinion of the Democratic Party since the Quinnipiac University Poll began asking this question," the poll notes.

The poll shows that 22 percent of independent voters have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party, versus 59 percent having an unfavorable view. Men have a 22 percent favorable view, versus 67 with an unfavorable view, while 39 percent of women have a favorable view of the party compared to 47 percent having an unfavorable view.

I think a large part of the reason for that is all the lies that have been told about the Democrats, including all the people that are hooked on right wing sources of so called news. The Dems may not have done their best in getting their message across but they did support most of the same things that most Americans said they wanted. Either that, or now more than half of Americans want a dictator, instead of a representative democracy. It's maddening.

Well, sometimes there is little that can be done when the opposing party will go well in the gutter. Anti-transgender and children sex change operation ads littered Ohio internet ad and tv waves. Much like the Swift Boat Vet bullshit in '04.

Over a thousand American soldiers died due to W Admin leadership but the GOP were able to sell Kerry as a monster. The people chose poorly.

They've done it a number of times.

Political parties "going into the gutter" has been going on since the caveman days. Its not the domain of just one party. Hillary Clinton was given debate questions ahead of time by Donna Brazille in her debate with Trump. One could go back and forth like this for hours. This is nothing new. People need to do their own due diligence when it comes to the candidates and not rely on TV political ads.

The subliminal "Rats" ad, Swift Boat Vets, and the child sex change commercials are not typical fair for politics.

There is the both side taking shit out of context ads, with the black and white video, ominous music about Politician X voting 25 times to kill your pet turn glorious music, technicolor beauty and Politician Y loves you and your pet. That is common fare.

The GOP has gone down some pretty ugly roads in the last couple decades. Even amongst their own like with the McCain black child push poll.

We, the people, need to stay strong and stand up for our institutions. That means protest, protest, protest. It means contacting our elected representatives on a persistent basis to hopefully give some of them the courage to stand against predations of the law and common decency.

Right wing media is little more than a political ad. And the leader of the coutnry successfully labeled the media as 'fake news' or even better...'the enemy of the people'. But the news sites that are "respected" might as well be a subsidiary of the GOP. Fox paid almost a billion dollars because their "stars" were reporting lies about Dominion. OAN actively seeks and and promotes conspiracy theories to support what our president wants to hear. But I'm afraid that the only media that matters is social media. Our huge national 'opinion page' that is taken as 'news'. And in the name of 'free speech', we no longer allow fact checking. We should self fact check.

But the problem is (and it goes both ways) is if you see on social media that the left wants to abort babies up to the day they are born or that Trump is Hitler, if you agree with that view, then as far as you are concerned they are 'facts'. Digging to get the real story is impossible today because the news media is in competition with social media. If we see it and we agree with it, it must be true, so no need to fact check. And if the media reports anything different, it is "fake news". The internet had so much potential, but it has made us perhaps the most ignorant society in history.

If you've been paying attention at all, democrats have been doing post mortems.

I’m afraid you are right.
The really depressing thing is that Russian influence (propaganda) over social media has increased since 2015, to a point now where it truly dominates the ‘Murkin consciousness.
I get the sense now, that because Uncle Vlad didn’t give him the WH on a platter this time, and Leon did, Cheato is delaying handing Ukraine over to him for the moment to remind him of the great ROI that bribing Donald Trump guarantees.

Do you have a better example, because as a comparison to the absolute horror show that the Republicans are, this is fucking weak sauce. I'm not saying that the Democrats aren't "going into the gutter" but you're not going to convince me this way.

Oh look a democrat not doing any reflection about why they lost (sarcasm).

Despite misinformation being a massive factor right wing idiots will still claim this is somehow not relevant.

Let’s look at the potential benefits of spending the next year or two categorizing and weighting the factors known to have contributed to the scenario that played out in 2024.
Then we can devise a plan based on these findings, to produce a platform that will allay the propaganda-spawned concerns living in Americans’ brains and inspire them to reject fascists’ promises of prosperity?

Maybe Democrats need to start doing what Ronna McDaniel once described as "legitimate political discourse".

Sure, because Trump would pardon us, because we'd be "unbelievable patriots"!!
With such a nauseating man and party in control of most of the power levers, and with lying propaganda being a weapon that Dems can't realistically wield, one can only hope that a few honest judges remain who will rein in The Asshole, and that hubris, a word Trump never heard of, will bring him down before he wrecks a whole lot more of the republic.

You mean like claiming that democrats want a woman to be able to abort a perfectly healthy fetus in the 9th month?

There are some decent judges who are trying to reign him in, but what happens if he disregards their orders? How is that stopped? The asshole JD Vance has already said that a judge has no right to stop the president from doing what he wants.

Uh oh. It's already happening. I'm gifting an article that any of you can read in its entirety..

The federal judge in Rhode Island said the Trump administration had failed to comply with his order unfreezing billions of dollars in federal grants.

A federal judge on Monday said the White House has defied his order to release billions of dollars in federal grants, marking the first time a judge has expressly declared that the Trump White House was disobeying a judicial mandate.

The ruling by Judge John J. McConnell Jr. in Rhode Island federal court ordered Trump administration officials to comply with what he called “the plain text” of an edict he issued on Jan. 29.

That order, he wrote, was “clear and unambiguous, and there are no impediments to the Defendants’ compliance with” it.

Judge McConnell’s ruling marked a step toward what could quickly evolve into a high-stakes showdown between the executive and judicial branches, a day after a social media post by Vice President JD Vance claimed that “judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate power,” elevating the chance that the White House could provoke a constitutional crisis.
“It’s very rare for a president not to comply with an order,” said Victoria Nourse, a professor at Georgetown University Law Center who served during the Obama and Biden administrations. “This is part of a pattern where President Trump appears to be asserting authority that he doesn’t have.”

But for some of President Trump’s allies, it is the judges ruling against Mr. Trump who are out of bounds.

“Activist judges must stop illegally meddling with the President’s Article II powers,” wrote Mike Davis, who heads the Article III Project, a conservative advocacy group.

Already, more than 40 lawsuits have been filed against the Trump administration challenging Mr. Trump’s brazen moves, which have included revoking birthright citizenship and giving Elon Musk’s teams access to sensitive Treasury Department payment systems. Judges have already ruled that many of these executive actions may violate existing statutes.
