Local organizers in Washington say three buses of recent migrant families arrived from Texas near the home of Vice President Kamala Harris in record-setting cold on Christmas Eve.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Three buses of recent migrant families arrived from Texas near the home of Vice President Kamala Harris in record-setting cold on Christmas Eve.
Texas authorities have not confirmed their involvement, but the bus drop-offs are in line with previous actions by border-state governors calling attention to the Biden administration’s immigration policies.

The buses that arrived late Saturday outside the vice president's residence were carrying around 110 to 130 people, according to Tatiana Laborde, managing director of SAMU First Response, a relief agency working with the city of Washington to serve thousands of migrants who have been dropped off in recent months.
Local organizers had expected the buses to arrive Sunday but found out Saturday that the group would get to Washington early, Laborde said. The people on board included young children.
Some were wearing T-shirts despite temperatures hovering around 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 degrees Celsius). It was the coldest Christmas Eve on record for Washington, according to the Washington Post.

Christian’s aren’t better people than anyone else: they just recognize sin when they see it and are not afraid to call it out or to pay hush money to keep it quiet. God knows all but the neighbors and the press and especially the wife’s attorney do not need to.

And, sadly, some in leadership positions who are Republicans support this type of cruelty. Plus, these people are extremely ignorant in addition to being xenophobic, as we need a lot more immigrants in this country to take much needed jobs in many areas and to have the opportunity to start up small businesses. Everybody knew what they were talking about. Family was strict Southern Baptist. Mom, Grandma, and Aunt took that secret to their graves and we were raised like Mom was pure and sex didn’t exist.

Mom was scandalized when she found condoms in my brother’s room at a beach vacation. He was 24, his fiancé 21, and they had been dating for 7 years and were set to marry after her graduation. Fiancé was clearly a terrible person being valedictorian of the high school and attending a top college. Years later Mom refused to stay at our house when visiting for thanksgiving because we aren’t church married.

The double life they lead can be pretty severe even if they aren’t the modern type of Megachurch Christian who worship Supply Side Jesus with their Patron Saint Raygun.

Having been burnt and punished harshly, she really really wanted to make sure to protect her children, or at least the ones she was allowed to raise. She did what she had to do which was to embrace the church doctrine extra tight. She didn’t dare risk needing forgiveness twice and she was t going to risk the kids she got to raise.

Sure if she were a different kind of person, she would have seen what happened to her as reason to reject all that puritanical nonsense. But she’s who she is. She raised you the best way she knew how. Hid knows I wish I had a crystal ball and a time machine while raising my kids. Also clairvoyance and omniscience.

But wow. Interesting to find out about a half sibling.

We grew in the same town, were the same age, went to the same high school. Over the years we talked a number of times and were even going to go out on a number of occassions, but it just never happened.

You hit the nail on the head. That was a terrible cross for Mom to carry, alone after her mom and sister had passed. She and Dad did pretty well with my brother and me, all things considered. She gave us the world to the best of her ability.

For what? Kidnapping? Criminal negligence?

It's actually illegal to transport undocumented immigrants within the country. Humanitarian groups trying to provide aid to recent arrivals have to be extremely careful how they do it for this reason, lest they themselves end up imprisoned. Whether the bus driver is liable would depend on whether it could be proven that they know their passengers are undocumented. But all of these governors are in knowing violation of the law. They just know that they'll get away with it, because the ruling class seldom eats their own.

If any of the people on those buses were unaware of what was happening to them, over state lines, it's human trafficking as I understand that concept.

It doesn't really matter if it was aboard a bus or in the trunk of a car. If someone in Texas lied to them, then transported them interstate, it's a crime.

A crime that dwarfs illegal immigration by a long shot.
