It is getting close to the end of Trump's term as president. And now it gets interesting. Will he be ousted by impeachment, amendment 25, or will he last until the 21st of January? There are now ideas circulating that Trump may be given a post presidential action preventing him from ever holding office again. No running in 2024.

He has always been going to get hit with a lot of legal problems. Investigations, subpoenas, grand juries, law suits, felony trials, tax dodging investigations, and more. The misadventures of Trump will last for years and may be very entertaining.

And now, the problems he will face for his attempts to steal Biden's presidency from him. The riots and invasion of the capitol building may very well have serious criminal charges for Trump. This will be very interesting to watch how this will play out.

As we read this, the extremist right wing Trump supporters are trying to organize for further actions, nationwide. Anyway, this has all the makings of a very entertaining few years post Trump, for Trump and his family, a toadies.

And still out there in the heart of darkest America, the Trumpistas are not going away. What will be next for them?

A lot of mutant chickens are about to come home to roost. When he is finally out of there come January 21, Trumpo the clown will finally become an entertaining figure again. And as he squalls and squeals it is going to be entertaining to see how his Faux Nooz buddies play it all.

Expect about two years of cruel humor and schadenfreude with sprinkles on it.

I think he'll try to leave the country.

Trump will head to his golf resort in Scotland the day before the inauguration and take some time to consider his options. There is some question about UK travel restrictions, but probably would not affect a US government flight.

That's the safe bet now.

Scotland has already told him not to fly there. And his resort is closed for the season.

Some have estimated about 80 million of them or around 30% of the country more or less. No they are not going away, I agree with you there Charlie.

Especially if they are not represented by our Washington establishment.

I think it largely depends on Biden and whether or not he was bull shitting when he said he would pledge unity for all of the country. So far, I get the idea he meant what he said as it looks like he is trying to put a sock in Pelosi and Schumers mouth. But we will see.

Running for office was his greatest mistake.
I don't think he truly expected/intended to win, when he first announced his run. It was a publicity stunt. But as momentum grew and the rallies got bigger, he started to drink his own Kool-Aid; by the time he actually took office, I think he genuinely believed he was cut out to be the leader of the country despite all the evidence to the contrary. He still does believe this, and is both confused and angry at those around him for poking holes in that assumption. If he is later to be jailed for his crimes, it will generate no self-reflection on his part.

We will see if the POTUS is above the same laws that the little people have to follow. And I'm betting he is.

This is brilliant!

A US representative has vowed to put forward a bill seeking to prevent President Donald Trump’s name from appearing on federal buildings or property following his time in power.
In the US and around the world, it is not uncommon for buildings and other landmarks to be named after political leaders.
However, Democratic Texas Rep. Jaoquin Castro is determined to ensure that honour is not extended to Mr Trump after the president was accused of inciting chaos at the US Capitol on Wednesday.
In a series of tweets, Mr Castro that he would proposing legislation enshrining the rule, in addition to pushing for Mr Trump’s impeachment and removal from office, even with the end of his presidency just days away...
....

Trump is becoming a political pariah. Unclean! Unclean!

I agree that air travel would be problematic. But he could get out of the country by surface transport.

The closest national border is at Niagara Falls, NY, at the famous waterfalls. It's a 7-1/2-hour drive, but it would be easy to go by air to nearby Buffalo, NY. It's about 1 1/2 hours more to Toronto, ON, Canada.

The US - Canada border is long, and much of it is wilderness. Trump could cross much of that border if he is a good hiker, something that is very doubtful. He might brag about being the best hiker, but his physical performance is far too poor for that.

The next closest is at Del Rio, TX, near Mexico. He could cross the border with Mexico is much the same fashion.

If one of Trump's friends owns a long-range yacht, then he could go further. From Miami, he could reach the Caribbean islands, Central America, and South America. I suspect that the most compatible place for him would be Brazil, since it is ruled by a right-wing demagogue, Jair Bolsonaro. But it's 3,000 mi / 5,000 km away. Yachts travel at 10 - 30 mph, so it would be 4 - 12 days of travel.

I don't know if he'd be welcome anywhere in Europe or Africa.

Distances across the Pacific Ocean are even greater.

Donald Trump did an excellent job in office......of fucking up. Politically, himself, his reputation, his legacy and arguably, the nation.

I am undecided as to whether President Trump has been our worst president. At least no genocides occurred under his watch. But he has, beyond any shadow of a doubt and far beyond most of the competition, the most incompetent president ever to disgrace the White House.
