A meeting of the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday went completely off the rails after Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accused California Rep. Eric Swalwell of having a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy.
Yah but I used to live in her district in Georgia. Neither are they.https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...sidebar&pm_medium=web&pm_campaign=recommended
And prior to being banned from speaking, she said that Eric Swalwell was having an affair with a Chinese spy. She needs medication or something! She's obviously not sane.
A meeting of the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday went completely off the rails after Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accused California Rep. Eric Swalwell of having a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy.
Rep. Swalwell won't say if he had sex with Chinese spy - December 9, 2020Greene (R-Ga.) made the comment moments after Swalwell (D-Calif.) accused her of “anti-police rhetoric” and showed a print-out of a tweet she wrote promoting “Defund the FBI” merchandise in response to purported bureau bias.
“That was quite entertaining from someone that had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy — and everyone knows it,” Greene shot back, referring to Swalwell’s alleged romance with suspected Chinese agent Fang Fang.
I move to take her words down,” exclaimed Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY).
Asked by committee chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.) which words Goldman would like deleted from the record, the Lower Manhattan and brownstone Brooklyn Democrat answered: “Everything that the gentlelady from Georgia has said.”
“No, you need to be more specific,” Green replied.
“The accusations of an affair with a Chinese spy. Those are engaging in personalities,” Goldman said.
After several minutes of study, Green declared, “The chair rules that those words that were spoken are not going to be stricken from the record.”
Democrats protested, with Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) complaining: “I don’t think there’s any question about what the gentlelady has said … We have never had an accusation made of any member like that and I’m appalled by it. We all ought to be embarrassed by it.”
When Thompson appealed the decision, Republicans on the committee voted to table the motion, effectively denying it and keeping the accusation in the meeting’s official transcript.
Swalwell’s office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
I've only been to her district once and that was in the late 90s when I purchased two little dogs from a very nice woman in Rome. She seemed perfectly sane, although we didn't discuss politics and things weren't nearly as nutty as they are now. I do feel very sorry for the Black Democrats in her district, along with the few white ones. Prior to Marjorie, I had no idea how many nutty people lived in that area. But, thee are plenty of nutty ones all over the country these days. My Jersey sister lives a few doors down from a family that had a huge Trump flag hanging from their home. Santos was elected in New York, although at least most of his constituents want him out now.Yah but I used to live in her district in Georgia. Referring to Batman's fictional home.[New York] is disgusting. I compared it to what I called Gotham City,” Greene (R-Ga.) whined. “The streets are filthy, they’re covered with people, um, basically dying on drugs, they can’t even stand up, they’re falling over.”
“There’s so much crime in the city, I can’t comprehend how people live there,” she said of the hometown of about 9 million souls.
It was her side that did that Jan. 6 insurrection -- it wasn't some false-flag operation done to make Republicans seem like angry mobs and coupmeisters.“That’s against the law, by the way, Tucker, you see they didn’t want me to be able to protest and use my First Amendment rights and they wanted violence. I think they [Democrats] wanted that to happen because they want to repeat Jan. 6 all over again,” she said of the chilly reception.
“It was absolute chaos and that’s what the mayor of New York City wanted to happen to me. You see he threatened me and basically put out a dog whistle for violence against me,” added Greene after Hizzoner took to the airwaves to warn the provocateur to be on her “best behavior” ahead of her trip.
However,“It was repulsive, it smells bad, and I just I think it’s a terrible place,” she told Carlson.
“Yeah,” the top-rated host responded. “With some nice people, I will say that.”
notingRep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is one of the Trump supporters in town, and held a rally nearby. She left minutes after arriving, however, as anti-Trump protesters drowned her out as she attempted to speak through a megaphone. “This is a travesty,” Greene blared, calling Democrats the “party of violence” as she was shouted down by detractors.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams called Greene out by name on Monday, warning protesters to be on their “best behavior.” Greene bashed Adams for the few minutes she held a megaphone, surrounded largely by reporters. “Mayor Adams, you send your henchmen down here to commit assault against people by making loud noises,” she whined.
Sophia Cai on Twitter: "George Santos blocks away from the courthouse: “This starts a precedent..what stops the next prosecutor in two years?” (vid link)" / TwitterBen Collins of NBC News reported that the “loud noises” to which Greene was referring were at least partially the work of a self-identifying Trump supporter who had been handing out whistles. Greene later claimed New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams was also blowing a whistle.
Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) showed up to defend the president, as well. “It’s bad day for democracy,” he said. “What’s to stop the next prosecutor in two years?”
She's a cult personality, not unlike a religious guru that rakes in cash from followers. She is without a doubt the dumbest person ever to hold a seat in the U.S. House. Her followers are just as dumb. I witnessed it. I can understand her appeal in that district. Big mouth. Little brain. Now Marjorie is very popular with other nutty people all over the country. She's been raising huge amounts of money, most of it from outside of Georgia. WTF man! I get that they hate liberals, but it's hard to understand why they want someone as nutty and ignorant as MTG to have such power. I guess she reminds them of their dear leader.
A source close to Green said the chairman was furious with the congresswoman’s behavior and planned to privately reprimand her, and also said he would encourage Speaker Kevin McCarthy to remove her from the committee if she ever had an outburst like that again.
Greene told CNN on Thursday she was “surprised and angered” over the incident and said she already spoke to McCarthy. “He agreed with me,” Greene said, indicating the speaker believed she shouldn’t have silenced. She also said McCarthy would never agree to pulling her off the committee. “Speaker McCarthy is never going to let that happen,” she said.
Greene told CNN later Thursday that she and Chairman Green had a chance to talk but that they disagreed about what happened at Wednesday’s committee meeting.
Green defended his decision to silence the congresswoman, telling CNN Thursday her comments were a clear violation of the rules. But he also seemed to refute that McCarthy agreed with Greene’s contention that she shouldn’t have been silenced.
“I had a conversation that was maybe a little different with him,” Green said. Asked if the speaker agreed with his decision to silence Greene, the chairman said: “We didn’t really get into the details of it.”
Green also indicated she won’t lose her committee spot. “She understands and will comply with the rule.”
GOP lawmakers on the committee, speaking on condition of anonymity, told CNN that Greene’s behavior was an unnecessary distraction and complained they had to waste valuable hearing time over the dust-up
Republican Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has attacked members of her own party after she was barred from speaking at a House Homeland Security Committee meeting Wednesday.
Speaking on the latest episode of her Battleground podcast, Greene accused the GOP of failing to "stand up" to the Democrat Party after she was rebuked by Homeland Security Committee Chairman, Tennessee rep. Mark Green, following comments she made during a panel hearing.
Democrats twice sought to strike remarks made by Greene from the records after she mentioned allegations of California Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell having a "sexual relationship with a Chinese spy" and later accused Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of being a "liar" after he suggested the U.S. is working to control the flow of fentanyl in the country.
American Federation of Teachers' president Randi Weingarten says U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's very personal attack on her as she testified before Congress this week was "homophobic," and she is urging people to call out "cruelty" whenever they see it.
Weingarten denounced "the vile, homophobic nature" of Greene's attack, saying, "it was pathetic, and the undermining of families was pathetic."
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Twitter: "Jake Teixeira is …" / TwitterShortly after federal authorities announced the arrest of Jack Douglas Teixeira on allegations the 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guard member leaked sensitive national security documents in an online chatroom, Marjorie Taylor Greene rushed to his defense.
“Teixeira is white, male, christian, and antiwar…That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime,” the far-right congresswoman from Georgia tweeted.
“Ask yourself who is the real enemy? A young low level national guardsmen? Or the administration that is waging war in Ukraine?”
Jake Teixeira is white, male, christian, and antiwar.
That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime.
And he told the truth about troops being on the ground in Ukraine and a lot more.
Ask yourself who is the real enemy?
A young low level national guardsmen?
Or the administration that is waging war in Ukraine, a non-NATO nation, against nuclear Russia without war powers?
President Biden isn’t waging war in Ukraine. That’s what Vladimir Putin is doing. And Teixeira’s gender, color and religion have nothing to do with his arrest and looming prosecution, nor are they relevant to a legitimate, necessary debate about the degree, nature, costs and long-term usefulness of our aid to Ukrainians.
Marjorie Taylor Greene saw marijuana “zombies” wandering around New York City when she visited to protest the arrest of former President Donald Trump, she complained Sunday.
CNN should be ashamed of themselves.
They have lost total control of this “town hall” to again be manipulated into platforming election disinformation, defenses of Jan 6th, and a public attack on a sexual abuse victim.
The audience is cheering him on and laughing at the host.
This falls squarely on CNN. Everyone here saw exactly what was going to happen. Instead they put a sexual abuse victim in harm’s way for views. This was a choice to platform lies about the election & Jan 6th w/ no plan but to have their moderator interrupted without consequence.
You hate free speech and want to control the press.
Your brand is fading, old, unattractive, and stale.
And by the way, Trump won the 2020 election.
I would object to Biden’s electoral votes everyday again and again if I could because they were stolen.
Seems like a good fit.Former President Donald Trump has a slew of potential picks for who will run by his side in 2024, and, of those, the one who is "leading the pack now" is a "Confederate-wannabe troll" by the name of Marjorie Taylor Greene, according to a former GOP adviser on MSNBC Saturday.
Toward the end, MTG asked CMI whether she considered Trump supporters extremists. The remarks came during a Homeland Security Committee hearing on Thursday at the House of Representatives about whether the federal government was fostering censorship. Cynthia Miller-Idriss, a professor of sociology at the American University in Washington, D.C., who has written about the rise of extremism, said she did not worry about what people believe but whether they were tending towards violence.
The director of the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab responded: "We are worried about violent extremism—not about what people believe, but to the extent that they are moving toward violence."
"Trump supporters, specifically," Greene replied, to which Miller-Idriss said: "If they're calling for violence, it doesn't matter to me who they support."
Greene then remarked: "I haven't seen any. By the way, there's a great rally in Iowa this weekend, if you want to study people on the right and what they believe."

Marjorie Taylor Greene On Rising: Fox News CAVED To Woke Mob, SILENCED Tucker Carlson - YouTube
Interviewed by Briahna Joy Gray and Robby Soave. BJG did most of the interviewing, and RS did a bit at the end.
Some of what MTG said seemed very typically Republican, like objecting to "government spending". She doesn't want to cut military spending, just aid to Ukraine, because the US southern border is supposedly out of control.
Fox's firing of Tucker Carlson she considered contrary to the 1st Amendment.
She wanted Donald Trump to run again, because of his admin's (supposed) successes, like energy independence, world peace, a strong economy, a strong military, respect by other nations.
She said that recent-decade trade deals were bad for American workers, because American big businesses sold out American workers by getting these deals. She notes that big businesses supports lots of lobbyists, but that small businesses don't.
She says that she doesn't take donations from lobbyists, and also that she complains a lot about her fellow Republicans. She also says that nearly all her donations are small-dollar ones. She also said that she didn't go to DC to be a "performer".
LL: “Out of respect for President Trump, I’m not going to comment on private conversations that I had with the president.” and “The president knows I have always been a Trump loyalist, and that I’m committed to helping him win re-election in 2024. He likes me very much. And it’s a shame that he’s surrounded by some people that run to a publication that is notorious for attacking him in order to try to cut me at the knees instead of being loyal to President Trump and respecting their confidentiality agreements.”Former President Donald J. Trump recently told aides to hire Laura Loomer, a far-right and anti-Muslim activist with a history of expressing bigoted views, for a campaign role, according to four people familiar with the plans.
...
Some of Mr. Trump’s aides were said to have concerns that such a hire would cause a backlash, given her history of inflammatory statements and her embrace of the Republican Party’s fringes.
That proved to be correct: The New York Times’s report on the potential hire ignited a firestorm among some of Mr. Trump’s most vocal conservative supporters, and by late Friday, a high-ranking campaign official said Ms. Loomer was no longer going to be hired.
She called Rep. Ilhan Omar “pro Sharia” and “anti Jewish.”Ms. Loomer twice ran unsuccessfully for Congress and is known for offensive attention-grabbing behavior.
She once described Islam as a “cancer” and tweeted under the hashtag “#proudislamophobe,” and she has celebrated the deaths of migrants crossing the Mediterranean.
In 2018, she was barred from Twitter for violating its hateful conduct policy. To protest the ban, Ms. Loomer, who is Jewish, affixed a yellow Star of David to her clothes — just as “Nazis made the Jews wear during the Holocaust,” she said — and handcuffed herself to the entrance to Twitter’s New York headquarters.
Laura Loomer is mentally unstable and a documented liar.
She can not be trusted.
She spent months lying about me and attacking me just because I supported Kevin McCarthy for Speaker and after I had refused to endorse her last election cycle.
She loves the alleged FBI informant and weirdo Nick Fuentes.
She tried to get hired on the Ye campaign after the infamous Maralago dinner, but Kanye West refused to hire her so now she’s running to Trump.
Never hire or do business with a liar.
Liars are toxic and poisonous to everything they touch.
I’ll make sure he knows.
