The Partisan American... the real issue with American Politics

Trump saved the country from being invaded by open borders.
A bullshit Republican talking point. Biden followed the law as written. Someone that comes to the border and asks for asylum by law must be allowed to have the claim tested in immigration court. Biden also deported more people than Trump.

Trump killed the bipartisan immigration bill prior to being elected to keep the talking point for his campaign so thousands kept coming. That's on Trump, not Biden.

Somehow he still filled that promise even under the conditions he had to work with.
Easy. He broke the immigration laws to do so.

I voted for Obama too. He turned to shit just like Trump has and for the same reasons.
Really? I don't think he fucked any children.

What more of a difference do you need? That one is pretty damn hard to ignore.

Even if you are dumb enough as to see no difference at all in their economic policy, not voting for Epstein's bestie who fucked children would seem like a simple decision.

I did not know Trump broke any laws but (if true) I doubt the average American knew either. Certainly no impeachment charges were ever brought for this issue even though everything else Democrats could dream up for an impeachment were. And assuming you are correct that Trump did break a law it would appear the law itself is a problem.

Because the only obvious conclusion a reasonable person can make is that there was a serious problem, no one in Washington was getting fixed under Biden. As Trump himself said, "we did not need more laws passed we simply needed a different POTUS".

lol. Just remember how we got here.

The Democrats could always try putting up a viable candidate next time.
True, but no one was forced to vote for Trump.
Yes, we sort of do have to vote for either the republican or democrat candidate. And neither choice makes any difference at this point because our country is really being controlled by power structures who pay both parties what they want. Regardless what the majority of the population really wants.
No, you don’t have to vote for anyone, especially someone who you think would make matters worse.

I don’t buy your conspiracy theory.
Not voting would work in theory. But the population is not well enough organized, informed, or motivated to pull such an event off and the power structures can count on that. In the end the financial industrial complex (FIC), the military industrial complex(MIC), and the technology industrial complex(TIC) make sure your only choices are their choice they want you to have. Sometimes the money appears not to win right away as when Bush fought against Trump in the beginning of his first term. But in the end the money always wins. It won with Obama being the sponsor of terrorism in Libia. And the money is indeed winning with Trump in Iran today. This is not conspiracy theory this is just common sense reviewing history. The POTUS does not really run America, he/she is just middle management whose real purpose is to make sure you are ok with what the power structures really want to do with America.

When was the last time you voted for someone you really wanted? Not just the best of two bad choices? Regardless who you voted for in the last election, the MIC will make sure we will be fighting in useless wars (Ukraine and Iran). And the FIC will make sure all their profits are privatized and losses are socialized to the tax payer. And the TIC will make sure we have more surveillance data centers the public does not want consuming more power and carbon. You can count on those type of things happening regardless who you vote for or do not vote for.

America is not a democracy, we are a dictatorship led by capital. A dictatorship that could still be brought down peacefully but can not be brought down politically anymore.
The war in Ukraine is not useless to the people of Ukraine, nor to the people of the Europe, nor to the people of the world, including United States.

The last time I voted for a Presidential candidate I wanted was Obama. No candidate is perfect.

Money always wins because money has the multitude of options and the flexibility to win.

The US was moving away from using more carbon under the Democrats. But people like you put Trump in power (twice) and that stopped.

Frankly, your response sounds like an excuse for voting for absolutely the worst Presidential candidate in a very long time.
How is the war in Ukraine helping me or you? Is it improving our standard of living somehow or helping us to become more free and prosperous?
Yes. It promotes free trade. Ukraine is a major exporter of wheat which helps keep the world price lower. That allows people around the world to have better nutrition. So not only do they have more income to spend on our exports (via lower wheat prices) but there is less violence around the world. And, helping Ukraine bolsters the US's standing among most nations, and good will is always a positive.

Finally, I realize this is a bit naive, but I feel the no need to feel direct help when we aod a nation defend itself from barbaric invaders.
I voted for Obama too. He turned to shit just like Trump has and for the same reasons. Who was it again who bailed out the banksters during the 2008 financial crises? Who was it who paid for the bankster bonus packages right after Obama saved their asses from their own mistakes?
If you are referring to the TARP - Congress passed it and President Bush signed it into law.
Money should win in economic transactions but it should not be allowed in democracy. In China (as bad as they are) at least the government still rules money. In the US money rules our government.
How does one outlaw money in a democracy?
When it comes to moving away from carbon the only thing that matters is the whole world which has nothing to do with Trump.
Since the US is a major player and emitter, it does matter.
Trump saved the country from being invaded by open borders. Somehow he still filled that promise even under the conditions he had to work with. I view him no worse or better than Obama. Perhaps a little better than Obama when it comes to fooling the public.
"Invaded by open borders"? Come on. Trump should get credit for reducing the flow of immigration.

I voted for Obama too. He turned to shit just like Trump has and for the same reasons.

The people writing the checks do not want Epstein events to be disclosed. A lot of people even more than Trump should be going to jail but they won't.

Here we go. This is the problem in America. The voter.

Biden inherits a pandemic and all of the economic issues that it creates. People are upset and his polling numbers dwindle. Dwindle so badly with an America that was certain that 2024 was worse than 2020 somehow, and elect the guy whose poll numbers dropped below 35% in 2021 because he instigated a riot at the US Capitol... and egged it on.

But that isn't my problem. My problem is that Trump has desecrated America's honor (assuming we have any) with the Iran negotiations. He went into Iran saying we'd overthrow the Government and now we are giving them $300 billion, at least, for having the plucky spirit to survive. And Trump's approval is 36%. Inflation is up solely because of his tariff and war policies. Costs are still up, not declining. Nothing has improved, rather things are worse... and he still has the support of 1 in 3 Americans. Biden wasn't the greatest President of all time, but his ratings were in the dumps because people didn't like how things were, not because Biden instigated the economy to go into the dumps by pissing off every trading partner on the planet. Things are notably worse now, and the globe is still gliding to a global energy crisis because of Trump (and Netanyahu) criminally undercalculating the Iran attacks. But the approval ratings are still about the same.

So much shit has come out of the White House, that it could be easy to forget two Americans were murdered by ICE this past winter and people thought maybe that was the first term Trump!

WTF America?!
Inflation is not up solely because of tariff or war policies. It is up because our government and the fed who is responsible for inflation wants it to be high. They need it to be high because it is the only way at this point to extinguish the US out of control spending that has accumulated over many years. By making the dollar worthless this hides taxation on the stupid savers who thought they would someday retire in dollars. But more to the point of your OP, it will make absolutely no difference which other moron in the future becomes elected. Or which tariffs or other taxation are in place because we will see non stop high inflation from this point forward. Austerity of any form is politically unacceptable. And it is either austerity or inflation from this point forward to survive the debt that has accumulated.
Not this... you know what. Never mind. You have never listened.

Inflation is not taxation or spending money on wars. Those actions might cause prices to rise but that is not inflation. Inflation is the reduction of the dollars buying power. Caused only by our government printing more currency.

You are stunningly incorrect. I confess that it is my fault that I continue to be stunned by your lack of knowledge and understanding and that is on me. You have proven your lack of knowledge and understanding countless times. I should know better.

Here is a pretty simple discussion of inflation and its causes:

What are the causes of inflation?

Inflation is linked to three factors: demand, supply, and inflation expectations. There can be positive or negative developments in these factors, but generally one or more of these factors is at work when inflation increases or decreases. When these factors are not putting upward or downward pressure on inflation, inflation is equal to its underlying level, which usually measures about 2 percent.

Inflation can increase when growing demand outstrips changes in the supply of goods and services. Economists call this “demand-pull inflation.”

Another source of higher inflation, known as “cost-push inflation,” occurs when the cost of producing these goods and services rises notably or when they can’t be produced in sufficient quantities to meet demand.

Inflation also depends on people’s expectations about where it will be in the future. These expectations influence economic decisions, and this, in turn, affects inflation.

To make this discussion clearer, we illustrate the causes of inflation by using examples that focus on a change in the price level. However, it is important to remember that inflation involves ongoing increases in the price level.

The people writing the checks do not want Epstein events to be disclosed. A lot of people even more than Trump should be going to jail but they won't.
At this point, I fairly well expect that while Trump knew Epstein in his earlier years and they were friendly, Trump (as he has many other industries) made his own swing at building a business such as Epstein's, his own Mar-a-lago Resort to mirror Epstein Island.

This meshes well with what Epstein said about Trump in emails.

I think that the proven activities of procurement and using his pageants as a recruitment front for girls qualify him as the literal worst in the lot, an industrial-scale child groomer.

A lot of people beyond trump need to go to jail; he ran a business, ostensibly, and that means there were clients, and a lot of them.

But they don't need it "more". They all need Justice just as urgently, I think, and there's no penalty Trump could see that would answer the severity of his crimes.

Well, the same felony, just repeatedly. Had he just written a normal check....

It's pretty obvious to any sane person who the "more viable" candidate was, but the fact that people voted for the guy with 34 felonies tells me a lot more about their judgment and that it is complete shit.

Most were tricked into voting for the criminal perv.
Deceived by their own indifference, and their willingness to buy what Fox Entertainment News was selling.
