The SOTU

"an image of Hiden confirming his unhinged he is..." ...and you're complaining about Joe's unintelligibility?
Yes.
I never thought I would wish for Derec to join a thread to raise the level of right-wing commentary. But here I am.
So, your perfectly satisfied with the “level” of left wing commentary?

You're funny. It might be unintentional, but funny just the same.

What brilliant repartee, and what trenchant analysis. The very best MAGAt World has to offer.

I mean, you're here to present the "deplorable" defense of a guy who bankrupted casinos...a business where people just come into the building and hand you money. How do you screw that up?

I wouldn't even call it a partial truth.

During the Biden Administration, things happened. Some of those things were bad. Very bad. Why didn't President Biden prevent those very bad things from happening?

Of course, her lie wasn't even that good, because she was referencing something specific that happened around 20 years ago! Let me rephrase.

The US has suffered so many times. Pearl Harbor... 9/11... the USS Maine... even the burning of our Capitol! We can't let a person be President who does nothing to stop any of these things. The Biden Administration says that these things were in the past. Even worse, he considers the people that committed some of these crimes to be our allies!

I wouldn't tell the victims of these terrible events that they didn't matter. I wouldn't hide behind "history" to ignore these victims. And I certainly wouldn't align myself with people that have committed such crimes against us.

America deserves better.

I think President gave a pretty good speech. He stuttered just a couple of times but but showed no signs of mental decline and even had a couple of zingers ready for Republicans when they tried to zinger him.. It makes me much more comfortable with November.
He showed some frustration over how lines came out, but all in all, he's aware of what goes a bit wonky when. It's certainly a sign that he's not quite as mentally sharp as he was.

The thing is, Trump isn't even aware of when he's shitting his pants let alone making a mistake, and I'll take "a bit frayed" over "complete dementia" any day.
Except he's always struggled with speeches due to a lifelong impediment. I don't think it's a sign of mental decline.

Yes, it went pretty well as these speeches go (which isn't setting a high standard, especially relative to the last decade of them).

Kudos to the Speaker for keeping the more insane/juvenile elements of his party somewhat in line for most of it. It's embarassing to see, how much they struggle to sit still and close their mouths for an hour! Like a class of seventh graders, only with less tact.
The Speaker made me want to stand up and slap him. His eyes rolled like a petulant teen.

The suffering the US has endured, it is beyond anything any other nation has suffered.
Why doesn't Biden use a time machine to prevent these things from happening?;)
"even the burning of our Capitol" and "Even worse, he considers the people that committed some of these crimes to be allies!" The British.
Why not go even further back in time to the European invasion of the territories that are now known as the United States?
She also claimed in her speech "Never forget, we’re steeped in the blood of patriots who overthrew the most powerful empire in the world." So, the US got rid of the British Empire in 1776.
Also, most experts consider that the Maine was destroyed by an internal explosion, not enemy activity.
Also, 911 occurred when Bush was president, so why didn't he prevent it? Indeed there is evidence that it was preventable.

It has been a pretty miserable few centuries for most of her citizens, and anyone else who gets in her way. Funny how much we fear outside powers, when our sitting government has more blood and misery on its hands than a Russian opera. American xenophobia is like a bear confessing to a fear of salmon.

I was in a hospital for few days. So I watched Biden's SOTU speech on TV.
Biden most certainly is not senile or demented. Nor was he "sleepy" or
reading strictly from a teleprompter. He was fiery and to the point. Not
like a rambling Trump word salad. I feel good about his re-election chances.

Trump has announced he will debate Biden. This would be good. Biden would
beat him like a big bass drum.

I'm still expecting Trump to back out of the debate, seizing some excuse. But it will certainly be a spectacle if he doesn't.

Apparently he learned that level of respect from the Bible. He said that if we ever want to know his worldview we should read the Bible.
