The Soul

In the NT, Paul speaks of mankind as having flesh, soul and spirit. So soul is merely breathe, the property of being alive but nothing more. Spirit which lives on after our bodily death is something else other than soul an cannot be proven to exist. Is spirit anything more than an ancient brain fart?

Flatulence is clearly a kind of breath; leading me to wonder:

Are our arseholes our sole souls, or are our sole souls our arseholes?

This is all an old problem in theology, that has caused quite a bit of useless yammering over the ages.

Soul, flesh and spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
"And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

This can be fun to spring on amateur Xian theologian types when the discussion turns to souls.
