I'm going to have to say it looks quite clearly like a loaf of bread and not a dick...but with enough attitude pretty much anything can be turned sexual...

It certainly looks like a loaf of bread, but typical loaves are larger in my experience. The obvious problem is that the catholic church has been on the ropes for decades now on the matter, so it doesn't take much. And with that history they can't just invite everyone to laugh it off as a gaff.

Maybe I'm confused...but the only laughing I see referenced is people laughing at the RCC in the cited article, and your comments about laughing. I didn't see anything about the RCC trying to laugh this off...

There is a principle of human existence which proves true through every human experience: We work hardest and most constantly to obtain what we want most. For most of us, the things we want are fairly mundane. We go to work everyday, are nice to the people we have to be nice to, and generally endure life, just to get a comfortable place to sleep and someone to sleep with.

There is nothing inherent in Catholicism or Evangelicalism which attracts pedophiles and other forms of sexual abusers. It is the positions of power over other people. Pedophiles seek jobs which put them in contact with children. This is a constant hazard for anyone who works with children, because the person who seems to be the most able and dedicated, is more likely to be a pedophile. In this way, Churches face the same problem as the Boy Scouts, Little League Baseball, and any other youth organization.

First of all, child marriage happens in America. It is legal in a shocking number of states and it is kept legal in order to appease certain Christian groups.

So if you are going to criticize 1+ billion Muslims in the world for failing to stop child marriage in all Muslim nations, then should you practice what you preach? Are you just as guilty of failing to stop child marriages in your own nation? Aren't you therefore just as contemptible as you make all Muslims out to be? I mean if you're going to paint with such a broad brush, shouldn't you, I dunno, make sure you're not being a giant hypocrite?

If you absolutely insist on pointing the finger at foreigners so that you can avoid do anything about the child marriage going on in your own back yard, then why Muslims? Why not point the finger at Hindus who have far more child marriages than the Muslims do? If you must limit discussion to child marriage in Muslim-majority nations, how much money do you give to Muslim groups that fight child marriage in Muslim-majority countries?

Either way you slice it, there must be some reason you are pointing at the Muslims and not child marriage in Western, Christian nations, nor not in Hindus in India. What do you suppose that reason is?
