This museum exists?!?

I think I am going to be sick!

https://www.deamuseum.org

Why?

The DEA has a history - quite an interesting history. Why shouldn't there be a museum where people can learn about that history?

One need not support the DEA's actions or policies in order to be interested in their history.

It is run by the DEA itself and is full of propaganda. It does not provide a disinterested, unbiased perspective on drugs in society and the drug war.

While that is a shame, it doesn't render the place valueless. I doubt there is a museum anywhere that provides a completely disinterested, unbiased perspective.

And no matter what your opinion of the work of the DEA, seeing examples of inventive smuggling and concealment attempts would be interesting and informative.

There's a museum for everything.

There's supposedly a KGB museum in Moscow that you need special permission to go into.
There's a penis museum in Iceland.

Then don't go there.

Probably funded by drug seizure money.

Also, good point AA - free association and all. But I would be surprised if you were a big fan of the DEA.

Live and learn. I just googled "penis museum in iceland" and yes, there is a Phallological Museum in Reykjavik.. Somehow I think it should be in Dildo, Newfoundland. Or have a branch facility in Intercourse, PA.

It's not as big as I was expecting; but then, it is very cold in Iceland.

The war on drugs has been just another justification to set up a group with spies, guns, handcuffs and a lot of privately owned prisons for the offenders...and the shareholders. The DEA is not going to admit it is a failure and a fraud and has already cost us many lives and a lot of treasure too. This is just some more of the tax money going to pay for cops to go after people who will always be there but are not actually criminals. How much did this little operation cost? Do you think it is good to pay taxes that are spent of political propaganda to keep loser cops jobs?

Or Fucking, Austria. (even though it's not pronounced like that)

Drugs and alcohol are probably the greatest destabilizers in poor neighborhoods. They are by far the greatest reason why there are so many abandoned and neglected kids. We were foster parents years ago. Druggie parents were the biggest causes for foster kids.
