Trump is headed for a win, says professor who has predicted 30 years of presidential outcomes correctly

Except Trump would be nuking Europe to help Russia.

The Americans don't seem to realise that the cold war ended (or should have) with the collapse of communism. The US and Russia now have common goals to combat global terrorism which should be the main issue.

The cold war continues. Only not with the USSR but with Russia. Putin's aggressive policies keep it going.

Who called a truce and then bombed the other side, killing seventy-odd troops? Why? Why are foreigners trying to overthrow the Syrian Government by backing terrorists?

I'm not aware Putin is aggressive to the West (USA or Europe). However it is NATO who is piling missiles on Russia's borders. There are more pressing issues the 2 sides should be looking at such as global terrorism.

Putin's aggression to Crimea, Georgia, Ukraine, Chechnya, and the Baltics. Hmmmmm. Is the US being aggressive to poor lil Russia for no reason at all? Bad behavior of Russia to it's neighbors goes back decades. And that is a form of global terrorism right there. Yes, Russia gets no blame at all, right?

True, but Putin doesn't give a flying fuck about terrorism.

He has offered several times to work with the West to combat global terrorism. He mentioned Nazi ism because he sees that also as an underestimated threat. There again no one in Germany took the potential of the Nazi party seriously when it was first formed.

“We must defeat this evil, and Russia is open to join forces with all countries and is ready to work on the creation of a modern, non-aligned system of international security.”

According to the Russian leader, the lessons of the Second World War showed “double standards” and “short-sighted indulgence to those who are nurturing new criminal plans” are unacceptable.

He added: “The lessons of history show that peace on our planet doesn’t establish itself, that you need to be on high alert."

This minor compared by the US policy of regime change resulting in worldwide disruption warfare and terrorism which Russia is offering to assist with. Instead the US candidates seem to be involved in mud slinging, particularly Clinton but no real issues have been addressed yet in the US election campaign which seems to have more entertainment value than addressing the economy ww security, healthcare, the national debt, the armed forces and America's economic future. Cooperation with other countries whether or not allied can help increase the positive security for all countries.

Despite its faults, the Syrian government is by far the least worst. (Rather like trying to choose between Donald and Hilary). The Assad family created discontent amongst the Mullahs by separating church from state, and protects all religions.

Certainly it was a case of the Pot calling the Kettle black when the US criticized Russia's involvement in a war which it stirred up then funded various groups, some of which it soon became apparent were ISL allies and other fanatics of their ilk.

Anyway Assad claimed last year the Russians were more effective against ISIS than the Americans were.

On 22 November 2015, Syria′s president Bashar Assad said that within two months of its air strikes Russia had achieved more than the U.S.-led coalition in its fight against Islamic State for a year.[26] Two days later, the U.S. president Barack Obama, speaking after a meeting with his French counterpart François Hollande,[27] said: "Russia right now is a coalition of two, Iran and Russia, supporting Assad. Given Russia’s military capabilities and given the influence they have on the Assad regime, them cooperating would be enormously helpful in bringing about a resolution of the civil war in Syria, and allow us all to refocus our attention on ISIL. But I think it’s important to remember that you’ve got a global coalition organized. Russia is the outlier."[28]

At the end of December 2015, senior U.S. officials privately admitted that Russia had achieved its central goal of stabilising the Assad government and, with the costs and casualties relatively low, was in a position to sustain the operation at this level for years to come.[29]

Largely agree. What's more, the fate of President Assad involves that of all the minorities who support him. A Sunni victory will mean vicious massacre, on all the evidence of the groups involved.

Thanks to US policy.
