Be the first to call this racist and you get 10 bonus points.

I'll take the ten points. Please do tell us of the genetic mechanism that makes blacks more likely to have HIV, racist.

"African Americans in the United States are disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS. We focus in this paper on the structural and contextual sources of HIV/AIDS risk, and suggest that among the most important of these sources are drug policy and the corrections system. "

IOW, it is your racist society and the laws that support its racist nature that contributes the most to the rate disparity between black and white people.

Nope. I am for the legalization of all drugs.

Mostly, you seem to be all for racism.

https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/basics/statistics.html

If you actually looked at the statistics, you would see that most new HIV cases in the US are among men who have sex with men. This holds true for all races and ethnic groups. Hispanic/Latina heterosexual women represent the fewest new HIV cases, including HIV cases among white men and white women. The reason that most HIV cases in the US are among men who have sex with men is that this is the population where HIV infections first emerged in the US.

The vast, overwhelming majority of Black Americans in the US are not immigrants but are descendants from slaves. In other words, we kidnapped/stole them and force them to live here in slavery, had to be forced to liberate them after which we did our best to ensure that they remained in poverty and only fairly recently have extended basic civil rights to black Americans.

Because anytime someone disagrees with a lib it considered racist.

Racist is the term they use for everything.

Not true.

I'm a liberal and I use the terms 'bullshit', 'horseshit', 'counterfactual', 'unsupported assertion', and 'wrong', too.

If this tweet is to be believed, Senators Perdue and Cotton are justifying their assertion that Trump "did not say that" because they think he said "shithouse", not "shithole". Well, I think that they are both "shitheads."

At some point you just have to hang your head and sadly say "WTF".

To the extent that people think IQ and communicable diseases are an issue here, they buy into the racist trope that Trump's unfortunate language was about the degree to which different races are intelligent or more prone to diseases. It is about a social policy on immigration and the designation of ethnic or national origin as a factor that ought to be taken into account. Racial and ethnic profiling are illegal for a reason--they do not lead to equal or fair treatment of citizens under our laws. They should therefore not be considered when it comes to immigration policy.

Ironically, Trump's defenders here are busy defending language that very few people doubt he used but that the White House now denies he used. He has no credibility, given his long record of telling lies and contradicting himself. Republican politicians are mostly avoiding comment or trying to go along with the denial. Senators Cotton and Perdue, who were witnesses to the meeting, started out claiming that they didn't remember Trump using that language. After Trump claimed not to have used the word "shithole" but admitted to using "tough language", these two senators switched their story to denying that he had used the word. Those who still defend the use of that language appear to realize that Trump is lying but feel no need to go along with the propaganda campaign. In some cases, they voted for the man precisely because that kind of language reinforces their prejudices regarding race and ethnicity.

The real issue in my mind is not that Trump is racist. Most of our past presidents have been more or less racist. It is that he doesn't have the presence of mind to guard his tongue and resort to the "dog whistle" language that politicians have relied on in the past. Trump himself only realizes how stupid his language was belatedly. That is why he is now denying that he used it.

I sort of agree with you about Perdue and Cotton, but they have not endorsed the "shithouse" alternative. That was brought up by National Review editor Rich Lowry as a defense (?) of their disagreement with Durbin. The tweet you refer to only says that there is some kind of internal debate in the White House over the two words. If such a debate is taking place at all, it is probably to decide whether there is some merit to endorsing "shithouse" as a word that they could go with in their defense of President Pottymouth.

They are both shithole and shithouse countries.

Nothing says "honoring the legacy of Dr. King" like spending his day on the golf course at your exclusive resort for rich people.

Maybe...just maybe...the staff got some extra generous tips from the members?

The hateful antifa crowd is getting restless.

At least Trump is denying he said it. Rock bottom would be saying it openly and proudly, like Kusa.

No, it couldn't about those things. If it was, then he would have simply said, "We want wealthy, educated immigrants.", without reference to country, let alone without using a 94% white country as a contrast to a 2% white country.
Countries do not immigrate, people do. So, things like nation level GDP and education are irrelevant. Both Norway and the various non-white "shitholes" Trump referred to have wide variance in how educated and wealthy people are, and it is mostly the less wealthy Norwegians wanting to immigrate to the US. Allow a random Norwegian rather than a random "shithole" resident to immigrate and you will sometimes get a less educated or less wealthy immigrant. The only thing you are almost certain to get with that policy is a white immigrant rather than a black one. Thus, the sole motive for such a policy would be to ensure the race of the immigrant.

You are giving him way too much credit if you think he actually would have thought that through the way that you did. I have little doubt that he figures people from x country tend to be the average of x country or worse than it. Remember "they aren't sending their best". He has a clear anti-immigration bent to him and has made it explicit.

His words here are not explicitly racist. Not a smoking gun. It is apparent that he has no filter and that he isn't smart enough a politician to see how his words would be interpreted by those looking for him to say racist things though.

Also, there are a number of countries with higher average wealth or education than Norway. But those superior countries have few whites, except for Luxembourg, which is still far more racially mixed and about 30% "swarthy" compared to Norway.

Do you really think he reasoned through to pick a rich white country over a rich brown one, or could it be Norway was fresh in his mind because he had just met with the Prime Minister of Norway as I noted above and it didn't occur to him that he was comparing a very white country to some very black ones? Is Trump more racist than he is oblivious and stupid?

Another thing that is disturbing here is that people get myopic on this racism charge and ignore Trump's bent against your statue of liberty concept of open immigration for all who dream of a better life and building a better society. What happened to that? You took less than a third as many Syrian refugees than Canada and we are a tiny population in comparison.

Why is this ad being portrayed as racist?

It appears to be saying "arm yourself to defend against rioters".

Everyone pictured appears to be of basically the same race, how can it be racist?

Are you playing at being dense or is it real?
I do agree with LP that the people modeled as ANTIFA in the armed resistance porn do appear to be white.

I do like (well, not like, but see the fucking inane hypocrisy) how they list Charlottesville, when it was one of them who murdered an unarmed protester (tried to kill a dozen with his car). Also, is it appropriate to hold a gun like the guy is, second from the left?
