Last foreclosure crisis started 12 years ago, & it went on for years.
Kids who were 5-15 then are 17-27 now.
Now unemployed and still pissed about parents crying at the kitchen table trying to save their childhood home.
There will be riots.
No boy watches his mom cry twice.
There has been a change in perception since then.
More talk about structural unfairness in economy.
More "we're all in this together"
People already lived through a recession and crime wave where houses were stolen without consequences.
Hope I'm wrong.
A survey among Sanders supporters was 25% personally knew someone who died bc of no healthcare.
Obama to Trump precincts exactly track largest percentage foreclosure precincts.
Interviews with kids who were foreclosed on are brutal.
Kids don't see shades of gray, they hate. 1/
Right now some US cities have eviction rate of over 30% per year. That's some never evicted and some evicted 3x.
Much more homeless school kids, working homeless families, people depending on food pantries.
We've gone from <2% needing pantries to much higher numbers.

5+ year wait for subsidized housing (section 8)
In my area hasn't been open to join waiting list for years at a time since 1980.
You apply now, wait 8 years for interview, if you're still poor you get a voucher. So no quick response.
Most jobs created after 2008 paid <$20/hr.
Most jobs lost after 2008 paid >$20/hr.
Gig economy, on call status for all minimum wage jobs, they won't pick how many cashiers in advance.
Most workers kept under 35 hours, punished with under 20 if they "cause trouble"
No OSHA enforcement, poor safety & training = accidents.
I don't have links for this stuff, but it can be looked up.
Democrats passed covid relief #4 without help for people, say it will be in #5 after they recess for 30 days.
Rent is due in 7 days, most places don't have rent/eviction policies in place.
Hope I'm wrong.
I'm not rooting for riots, I'm scared of them.
That said, what do you do with no job, delayed unemployment, 6 weeks of front line risk as cashiers.
Min.wage workers see nobody cares if they die. We could require stores to provide PPE as health department law but don't.
Talk of strikes & anger in current workers who see benefits going to office jobs.
My big fear is rental evictions by swat teams, tanks.
2nd fear no food.
3rd overwork, illness for min wage workers..
Pelosi could prevent this, but they'll be too late for June now.
