Trump Vs Iran

I did just read that it's very unlikely that Russia will help Iran, especially since Russia has so many resources tied up in fighting Ukraine.
Yeah, Putin was all great mates with the Ayatollahs when Iran was supplying munitions to Russia, but if the Iranians expect reciprocation, they are in for a rude shock.
You sound almost disappointed. In reality Iran refused help. But it is true, they appear to not trust Russia (not Putin, Russia).
This whole thing looks like enemy of my enemy is my friend kind of thing.
Russia, as a culture, infinitely closer to the West than to Iran or even China. It's just west went berserk over its apparent loss of influence on this Planet.
Having said that, Russia is really into BRICS and into not meddling in other countries internal (!!!) affairs, so Iranian "Regime" has nothing to worry with respect to Russia.

What information, if any, does Trump have that US Intelligence does not? Netanyahu says so?
Yup.

The US has become a puppet of Israel. It's a bizarre reversal of normal power relationships between large wealthy nations and small less wealthy nations; But here we are.
You mean Trump has become a puppet of Israel. Oh wait. I thought he was a puppet of Putin's. Who's puppet is he really? Or is it that the Republicans are just the felon's puppets?

I did just read that it's very unlikely that Russia will help Iran, especially since Russia has so many resources tied up in fighting Ukraine. This is all some scary shit.
Russia might have a few thousand NK soliders to spare for Iran. Those soliders could really have a world tour.

More news is trickling about the Orange Degenerate’s horrendous decision to attack Iraq.

The Iranian Parliament voted to close the Strait of Hormuz.

One of Russia’s top gangsters, Medvedev, said “many nations” would be willing to give nukes to Iran. Not sure who he means, since not many nations have them, but Russia does. What if Russia gives nukes to Iran? Are we going to bomb Russia?

Word is coming out that the U.S. bombs did NOT “obliterate” the nuclear facilities, contrary to the usual lies of the fascist-in-chief.

The NY Times points out that the roots of Iran’s nuclear program go back to 1957, long before the mullahs, and is deeply entrenched in Iranian culture. You can’t destroy knowledge and ideas.

Here in New York City, I again have to worry about terror attacks, thanks to the idiot in the White House. I was scheduled to be in the north tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11 to teach a software class that got postponed at the last moment. A few years later I was two blocks away from a terror bombing in Times Square. So, here we go again.

Obviously Trump is compensating for the mushroom in his pants.
Such a callous moron. He’s truly psycho.

It seems too early to say if the bombings were effective. I suspect that even U.S. intelligence is still analyzing the situation. Also, to re-re-re-re-restate the obvious: what Trump says when it comes to true vs. false statements can never be taken seriously.

No one's giving nukes to Iran.

So there's already a pipeline linking the oil fields of eastern Saudi Arabia (or many of them) to a port on the Red Sea.

Given the near-continuous angst about Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, I don't understand why this hasn't been upgraded to make control of the Strait irrelevant...

No one's giving nukes to Iran.
Nobody with nukes wants more crazies with nukes. But if there is economic or political utility to propping up a threat of more crazies with nukes, then it will be done.
Realistically, what country would give nukes to Iran, thereby unnecessarily exposing itself to grave consequences? It's just not going to happen.

Even conventional weapons will be a problem to supply Iran with, let alone nukes. Russia is in no position to help Iran, China won't do it for obvious reasons, and neither will any other Arab states. Pakistan may be a possibility, but they're not official allies and their relations are strained.

In short, Iran stands almost wholly alone.

I agree that the U.S.'s military strike was stupid and will have predictable fallout, but in terms of nukes and military capability Iran doesn't inspire much fear.

Yeah. Medvedev likes making all sorts of cockamamie statements. He's barbos with a wider audience.

Knowing the extend of damage done to the underground facility will be from ongoing satellite photos of activity there and what types of vehicles are coming and going, for example large dump trucks carrying broken concrete would be a telling sign.

Don't forget Clinton's missile strikes and Obama's bombing of Iraq to support anti Qaddafi rebels ending in the fall of Qaddafi. Neither had congressional approval and both argued the attacks were outside of congressional war powers authority.

The result of removing Qaddafi is a fractured violent Libya.

Trump is is line with American foreign policy oing back decades,

The Tonkin Gulf resolution that authorized general militray action in Asia was based on a bogus naal attack on American ships by North Vietnam.

Johnson called for congress to act.

On August 2, 1964, the US destroyer USS Maddox was allegedly attacked by North Vietnamese torpedo boats in the Gulf of Tonkin. A second incident, possibly involving a misinterpretation of radar signals, was reported two nights later.
Johnson's Response:
President Johnson used these incidents to call for Congressional support for a resolution that would allow him to respond forcefully to the attacks and protect American interests in Southeast Asia.

The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution or the Southeast Asia Resolution, Pub. L. 88–408, 78 Stat. 384, enacted August 10, 1964, was a joint resolution that the United States Congress passed on August 7, 1964, in response to the Gulf of Tonkin incident.

It is of historic significance because it gave U.S. president Lyndon B. Johnson authorization, without a formal declaration of war by Congress, to use conventional military force in Southeast Asia. Specifically, the resolution authorized the president to do whatever necessary in order to assist "any member or protocol state of the Southeast Asia Collective Defense Treaty." This included involving armed forces.

Trump and Iran is a continuation of our foreign policy. We installed the brutal Shah which eventually led to the Iranian revolution and takeover by the Islamic clerics.

Trump is just more stupid, short sighted, and openly authoritarian.

It seems too early to say if the bombings were effective. I suspect that even U.S. intelligence is still analyzing the situation.
won’t the intelligence agencies just say whatever Trump wants them to say anyway?
It appears not, at least for now. The intel showed Iran was not close to building a bomb. Trump disregarded it.
Didn’t Gabbard reverse her position after Trump declared her wrong?

Yes I mentioned that earlier. Neither have any credibility. Not that they ever did.

No, she said they were still “on the same page.” Everything has descended into Orwellian nonsense because of all the stupid people that knowingly put a convicted felon and serial liar back into office.

Another thing that really gets me is Netanyahu and Trump pretending to give a fuck about the Iranian people.
