Trump's Appointments

tRump reminds me of a teenager that pushes the boundaries his parents set just to see how far he can get.

RFK JR is on the hot seat. Looks and sounds like death warmed over.
/serious
Just what we want in an HHS sec.
/sarcasm (tag for our Trumptards)

I am not one bit surprised, but hope that after the limp dick house republicans give him a pass, there is some vestige of rational humanity that might prevail in the Senate.

Pretty certain RFK Jr isn't in front of the US House. In the Senate, they need four GOP votes. Maybe the Senators from AK and ME, maybe Rand Paul, but I suspect only maybe Rand Paul if it just gets to 50, not to 49 votes to confirm.

Excuse me while I sharpen a razor and get a tub running.
Sen. Marshall (R-Kansas)... a doctor said:
I believe for such a time as this that you’re not just one of 300 million people. I think that you are the person to lead HHS to make America healthy again, that God has a divine purpose for you.
GOP are rounding the wagons.

That's assuming he recognizes there are boundaries. I think he just acts unless someone gets to him and shows him it's a bad idea.

Wack Crazy Worm in the Brain made it past committee.

Now it's on to test the Repubs in the Senate for loyalty

Congress should just adjourn for four years - it’s not like they’re going to do anything, apparently.

The title of the video is "Caroline Kennedy reads her cousin Bobby for filth."

What a measured eloquent clear indictment of Robert Kennedy Jr. But Caroline Kennedy's description of young RFK Jr sounds it perfectly fits Trump and explains his appeal to Trump.

What can they do? Whatever laws they might introduce, interpreting and executing the law is now the sole province of the executive branch, and that branch is not itself subject to legal review. If they write some law or other that the president dislikes, he can just refuse to implement it, at least as it pertains to the federal government.

That's not true. At least, not yet. You can't criminally investigate Trump. But it stops at Trump. Also, Trump isn't the Government. You sue the government. Legal standing and ability to sue should still exist. But one needs to be able to say they've been harmed... and that is what Musk seems to be covering up.

Breaking: NIH has been told to stock 2 years worth of Vagimoochloroquine (for menstrual cramping in cows) against the next covid variant outbreak.

Legal standing and ability to sue should still exist.
And everyone should have a pony.
Two years
Then another 2 years, then another 4…
It is nuts to believe the GQP, having wrested full control of the government from the citizens, is going to relinquish it, no matter what they need to do to retain it.
They will cheat in the next election, and if it looks like that’s not going to work, they will cancel it for National Security reasons and the FOXwashed masses will applaud.

That is not what Trump's executive branch has actually said about the nature of his power as they understand it. If that is true in some abstract philosophical sense, it is not how the federal government is functioning at present. There are quite a few lawsuits circulating, yes. But Congress cannot sue, except as individuals. Standing is an issue, as you note, as is sovereign immunity. But you or I can sue, as long as the government itself consents to the suit.

I'm pretty certain Congress can sue. They won't, but they can. Trump isn't the Government. So lawsuits can still happen, but in order to have a lawsuit, the person suing needs to have legal standing in a case. And to have legal standing, you need to demonstrate you have a claim that you can justify with regress. That last part would be the tricky part if Musk able to do all of this in secret, because you can't sue for a wrong you don't even know happened.

And whatever protects Trump, doesn't protect anyone else in the Executive Branch.
