Trump's Appointments

And whatever protects Trump, doesn't protect anyone else in the Executive Branch.
but Trump’s pardons can. If he is willing to pardon cop assaulted why not his own cronies?

What possible political price can Trump pay at this point? I cannot conceive of any.

Congress should just adjourn for four years - it’s not like they’re going to do anything, apparently.
What can they do? Whatever laws they might introduce, interpreting and executing the law is now the sole province of the executive branch, and that branch is not itself subject to legal review. If they write some law or other that the president dislikes, he can just refuse to implement it, at least as it pertains to the federal government.
That's not true. At least, not yet. You can't criminally investigate Trump. But it stops at Trump. Also, Trump isn't the Government. You sue the government. Legal standing and ability to sue should still exist. But one needs to be able to say they've been harmed... and that is what Musk seems to be covering up.
That is not what Trump's executive branch has actually said. If that is true in some abstract philosophical sense, it is not how the federal government is functioning at present. There are quite a few lawsuits circulating, yes. But Congress cannot sue, except as individuals. Standing is an issue, as you note, as is sovereign immunity.
I'm pretty certain Congress can sue. They won't, but they can. Trump isn't the Government. So lawsuits can still happen, but in order to have a lawsuit, the person suing needs to have legal standing in a case. And to have legal standing, you need to demonstrate you have a claim that you can justify with regress. That last part would be the tricky part if Musk able to do all of this in secret, because you can't sue for a wrong you don't even know happened.

And whatever protects Trump, doesn't protect anyone else in the Executive Branch.
Nope. That actually came up several times under both the Obama administration and Trump's first term.

It is true that what applies to Trump does not apply to others. I strongly suspect that at some point Musk is going to mess up and seize a document he has no authority to so much as view let alone steal, and that this will result his being criminally charged for some brief period of time. I also think he knows this and doesn't give a shit, because why would he?

the problem with how things are going and how the GOP is letting it happen is that we don’t know if this has already happened.

You can't pardon an offense. You can only pardon a person. If Musk does A and something sues the government about A, Musk isn't looking at time in jail. Courts would find A is unconstitutional.

The trouble would be in the next offense of A. At which point if Trump pardons then, SCOTUS would need to seriously sack up to say such pardon power was intended. And if they did, our democracy is in ashes.

this will result his being criminally charged for some brief period of time.
Which will result in him being pardoned 5 minutes later.
Likely several months later, they need to milk the situation for propaganda for as long as the eye of the media can be trained on it.

I'm waiting for the class action lawsuit from the prosecutors and agents that have been fired for working on J6 prosecutions.

Noem attacking the real issues.

Tulsi Gabbard just got approved, 52 to 48. Mitch voted against her. Next up RFKjr.

Mitch is a profile in courage when it doesn't matter.
Sometimes I think he's feels guilty for not getting rid of the felon when he had the chance. He could have helped remove him from office when he was impeached by the House, but nope, he refused, allowing him to run for another term. Now he has to live with his lack of courage and poor decision. Fuck him. Still, there are currently 4 Reps who might not support RFKjr. Mitch is one of them. We can only hope that at least three of them will do the right thing for a change. Not optimistic, but not giving up hope until the votes are in. I fear the damage that RFKjr will do even more than the others, considering he has no experience with our health care programs, thinks raw milk is healthy, fluoride should be removed from the water, believes vaccines are harmful, and seems to has a thing for dead animals, etc.

The US House is investigating the investigation of Pres. Kennedy?

He kind of had courage when he told the GOP to shut up the night of January 6th. That'd be about it. These no votes mean nothing.

I agree, unless he can persuade a few others to vote against RFKjr and a few others. He's not running again, so it's hard to understand why he won't stand up to the felon. Stupid Republicans have no balls.
