Violence Erupts at Trump Inauguration

Are the first three pictures of Donald? I see kittens. It must be my Kittens browser add-on that removes images of Donald and replaces them with images of kittens.

Also, the right wing authoritarian followers are all expressing horror and outrage at the mass carnage wrought by liberals upon the inauguration festivities.

There were certainly idiots smashing up shop windows and getting themselves arrested. They need to get over the fact that the Democrats (though I am sure some were extremists) lost the election and look forward to campaigning in the future. This is how it works with Democratically thinking individuals.

Prophetic.

Is there a point to this? Nobody here (To the best of my knowledge) is named Sally Kohn. So who's face are you trying to rub this in exactly?

What she is saying what is obvious to the brain dead yet she seems to have gotten quite a few likes and re tweets.

Besides that, you'll always have anarchists. They don't support anyone.

And given that they were breaking the windows of a Starbucks, I seriously doubt they were liberals.

They would't be, but groups of anarchists and extreme splinter groups. Maybe one or two could have been 'liberals' as in extremists who sometimes join the liberals.

Donald Trump looks out at America and sees carnage.

And cannot put two and two together.

To have great individual wealth you need deprivation as well. You need motivation and a hook to hang people from.

With modern capitalism there is always carnage and a need for robust social services. That is the only way to make capitalism bearable.

But my guess is Trump will reduce social services, even eliminate some.

His talk of carnage is hollow and sadistic.

Of course America + Foreign Policy = Carnage
If he ceased entering into any more wars then that could solve the healthcare system in terms of available finance.
However the US Healthcare system, would need to reform its methods of treatment where patients are pumped with drug cocktails. So patients who have taken pain killers get addicted and then purchase street opiates
Castro's Cuba still has a cost effective yet free for all health service. Libya also had one. Of course this is taboo territory

If I were an anarchist, I'd probably throw things during a Trump protest, too. I mean, Trump is going to make authoritarianism great again.

I'm withholding final judgment until we find out exactly who was breaking windows and why - obviously hired disrupters are a thing.

But in the meantime, I guess Trump supporters found out that they're not the only ones who can get angry.

We've had anarchists in the UK on quite a few occasions. These are not the mainstream.
The large protests are mainstream but there is no relationship with banning illegal immigrants and racism. I'm not sure how women's or gay rights will be under any threat which seems to one of the reasons for the protests.

Maybe I missed some news on gay and women's rights.

Maybe the signs should be amended to read,"Love Trumps Hate!*"

*unless that doesn't work, then start vandalizing
The damage was done by anarchists, who aren't Democrats either.

This the most likely correct answer.

Anarchists are rare in the US, too, but if you were watching Fox News or Sky News or some other right-wing slanted news, you might have thought they were mainstream in the protests.

I am not sure you missed it or willfully ignored the ramifications. I mean, if you heard that as soon as Trump took over, they removed the LBGT rights pages from the whitehouse.gov website, but refused to understand why, then there is no convincing you. If you know that Trump attended tons of beauty contests and grabbed vaginas at these events, but refuse to understand why, then there's no convincing you about women's rights either.

Washington, D.C. residents say that the state violence on display this weekend extends far beyond the individuals hit with felony riot charges.

“A mother carrying her toddler was pepper sprayed in the face,” said Miller. “An elder from Standing Rock was sprayed in her face. A woman with crutches tried to intervene, and she was sprayed.”

Sorry, that comes from AlterNet. There is no quality control on AlterNet, thus it can't be considered a credible source.

People who live in DC are telling a bit of a different story on facebook. they acknowledged a violent element but it was clear to them that the majority were polite and peaceful. Some were saying it was the friendliest protest they'd ever seen.

I never thought about it before but now I'm wondering how many protests you see if you live in DC. I live in the suburbs of DC, and I've had my share of missing meetings because protesters blocked my path to the office when I worked inside the beltway, and things like that. I've only had direct experience with protests and marches when I was in them, so maybe 5 or 6 in my life. I've never lived where protests could erupt on my doorstep on any given day.
