If anyone anywhere needs any more evidence that they real "witch hunt" was against Hillary Clinton, we need look no further than the fact that these fucking idiots are STILL at it:

"Clinton is starring in the Republican Party's 2018 midterm strategy. With no Democrat to attack in the White House for the first time in nearly a decade, Republicans are betting big that the ghost of Clinton will serve them well in 2018.

"Even if she avoids the spotlight moving forward, the Republican Party plans to evoke her early and often in key congressional races, particularly in regions Trump won, which feature most of the midterm season's competitive races."

It's just a lock-step figure of the right now. You have to viscerally hate Hillary to be a true, blue Republican. For every GOP not running, there is one willing to gladly hitch his wagon to Trump. In the long run, it will end the party.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...the GOP has been running against Hillary since 1992. They've been on this kick for 26 years.

Like any other long term addiction, giving it up doesn't happen overnight. It starts with a genuine desire to quit, but as anyone who knows addicts can tell you, it can take years of fits and starts before you finally let go...and even then the possibility of a relapse is ever-present.

We just have to accept the fact that the Republican Party is hooked on Hillary, and right now they're just not ready to admit they have a problem. Maybe someday they'll take that first step, but even then it could be years before they get it under control.

I don't know, man... I've heard that addicts often don't get it until they hit rock bottom. And I know Twitler's hairdo looks like rock bottom, but really this isn't. Things could get much, much worse before Republicans decide it is in their self-interest to give up on Hillary's persecution. We could be at full fledged war with the economy in a depression which would be unusual but possible with all the weird trade stuff going on. Nazi numbers in the US could double and we could start to see rallies in our own neighborhoods or at least in nearby cities. There's a lot more that could happen.

Well, in the GOP's defense, they don't want Blankenship to win the primary. I doubt it has anything to do with those dead miners though.

I sure as hell hope she doesn't run again. I like her (sometimes), but I'm not willing to surrender the entire country to the Republicans for her.

Hillary has exhibited amazing shelf-life as a voo-doo doll. Just as Trump is God's gift to Democrats, Hillary is God's gift to Republicans. I only hope her magical properties wear out quicker than Trump's.

Don't forget about Pelosi and Obama...the GOP will through them in as well...

Later,
ElectEngr

They won't get nearly the needed mileage out of those two. It will be hard to get Obama Democrats to respond to Obama-bashing the way they do (did?) to Hillary bashing. And Pelosi's career as an object of GOP vilification is in its nascence - nothing like the three decades of hate-cultivation they piled up against HRC. The visceral hatred against Trump is in the same class as the hatred against Hillary; Obama, and even Pelosi, don't come close.

Woah! Trump is not God's gift to the Democrats!

Oh? Tell me that on November 7th!

Seeing that I don't suffer from memory loss, I can still remember November 2016... the cruel ending of a seemingly unending General Election run that started 11 months earlier. The Dems in '18 wouldn't be getting a mandate to do shit. They'd just be elected because people that fell asleep in November 2016 forgot what was actually at stake and this would be something to bring back a little bit of normal.

What's the alternative? Running on Trump's record?

no. running on his make-believe record they invent on the fly.
The economy under Trump is the best it has ever been. Fuck you Obama!

I wasn't meaning to be flippant - I really meant it. If there's no "blue wave" in November, then I'm wrong and Trump is NOT God's gift to Democrats (at least not in the same way or to the same degree that Hillary is God's gift to Rethuglicans).

DOW down ANOTHER 140 points right now... and more trade war BS coming. Good thing for Cheato that his drooling sycophants don't have money to invest in the stock market.

Ya, that's exactly why he is able to say every point increase is his win and then go silent on every point decrease. confirmation bias that is not accompanied with an actual brokerage account (all of his supporters, less the top 1% that are making billions off the tax cut and deregulation) are left with the impression that the economy is good. Never mind the fact that the stock market is about as good a measure of economic health as a casino's profits are on the commercial health of a neighborhood.

The OP quote (understood to have been a good example of the Tu Quoque, or "the Standard Trump Defense") assumes that only one thing can happen at a time. When it rains, only one raindrop falls, hits the ground, and only then does the next raindrop begin to fall. When a person is arrested, the entire process through conviction must complete before another person can get arrested.
.. and when an investigation into potential criminal activities of the leader of the free world is needed, we must first wait until any other investigation is started and completed.

What I used to say about "Hillary this or Hillary that" is:
"Hillary who? What position of power is this person in that I should be particularly concerned about - as opposed to all the crazy people walking around with guns and the like"?

Lately, my response is
"You're absolutely right. They're doing it just like you said they should. not really making the news because they haven't found anything YET.... but anyway... back to what we were talking about..."

This is true, and it works for them. The funniest (or saddest) part of it is that Hillary (who their voters have a visceral reaction to) still insists on thrusting herself onto the stage to be associated with the Democratic Party. It makes it very convenient for the Republicans to campaign against her rather than against some unknown or lesser known candidate who wouldn't otherwise draw that reaction without her association.

They didn't forget. Hillary was just THAT unpopular. The Democrats should have seen it coming. They must have known that the Republicans have been running her down for decades. Add in her pro-corporate image and lack of personality and why did they think she could win?
