Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

Its insane but not exactly as that post reports.

It was republicans on the house judiciary Committee.

They are evil and insane but just one committee.

Republicans on the US House of Representatives’ Judiciary Committee universally voted against an amendment on Wednesday that would have prevented Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from using federal funds to detain or deport US citizens

Probably more about supporting The Felon no matter what than actually about deporting citizens.

Like all the stuff he hawks, it was made in China of course. They are not fans.
Are we sure about the reality of this? To me "RUMP" looks slightly off-center, as if the 'T' was photoshoped out.
UPDATE:
I just saw a vid of the couple talking with a reporter. Showing the watch. It is not photoshopped.

Is Trump a socialist?

If you didn't think Trump was batshit crazy, this will convince you.

Walmart should eat the cost of the tariffs. Right. Operating with a likely negative margin.

CNN —
President Donald Trump on Saturday said Walmart needs to stop “trying to blame tariffs” after the retail giant announced its products would become more expensive.

Walmart’s CEO said the price increases were a result of Trump’s tariffs being “too high,” particularly when it came to Chinese goods.

“We will do our best to keep our prices as low as possible. But given the magnitude of the tariffs, even at the reduced levels announced this week, we aren’t able to absorb all the pressure given the reality of narrow retail margins,” Walmart CEO Douglas McMillon said Thursday in an earnings call.

Trump responded on Saturday, posting to Truth Social that “Between Walmart and China they should, as is said ‘EAT THE TARIFFS,’ and not charge valued customers ANYTHING. I’ll be watching, and so will your customers!”

Trump’s comments echoed Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s comments Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that “businesses and the countries primarily eat the tariff.” Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers has called such theories “ludicrous.”

I thought China pays the tariffs. 🤔

Have you been waiting for a major Republican leader to speak sternly AGAINST Trump's acceptance of bribes from Saudi, Qatar, etc.?
Finally! A top GOP leader goes on record and condemns such bribery!
OMG......Classic. I gotta admit, I watched it for about 40 seconds not connecting to what you posted. And then....OMG. Beautiful. Uncanny how the orangey guy poses a question on the left, and the white-haired guy on the right tells him he should be embarrassed to ask such a question.

Shit just got real

An the Felon threw a hiss fit threatening Walmart for making plain that the consumers will pay the cost of the tariffs.
(Tooting my own horn)

I suggested way back that outfits like Amazon and Walmart should simply break out the tariffs and price on every affected item they sell.
Amazon did and got slammed. Now Walmart is doing it. Apparently, Trump doesn't even care about the billionaires anymore.

We'll see how long he gets away with it.

My sons went to a restaurant the other day and they showed the portion of every item that was tariff.

Heh...

I'd love to signs in the Walmart entrance lobby "We're sorry for the inconvenience. We've added the Trump Taxes to many items."
Tom

Here's another question.
Will the increase in retail prices be reflected in the inflation statistics? If a raft of consumer goods jumps in price by next month the consumer price index will soar.
Tom

He has always gotten away with everything and will continue to do so for as long as he lives. He is a useful grifting tool. The most useful grifting tool ever. Nobody has ever been such a useful grifting tool. It’s not even close. He is so useful that he must be given whatsoever he desires.
Even cash cows die eventually. That’s all a good Christian can pray for. The rest of us can only obstruct, protest and hope the insane MAGAts don’t burn down what little is left of America out of anger, once the orange jesus is gone.

Here's another question.
Here in Indiana, the sales tax on most purchases is 7%.
If I have to pay the sales tax on an item that went up in price due to the Trump Taxes (tariffs), am I not paying a tax on a tax?
WTF
Tom

Of course you are, just like you have your entire life.

Oh, this is definitely true.
Most of the price of a pack of cigarettes is tax, and yeah I pay sales tax on the whole thing.
But I am old enough to remember when Republican president Reagan insisted that state income tax needed to be a tax deduction from federal income taxes. Because otherwise it's a tax on a tax.

But that was back before the Teapartiers had taken over the Republicans. May Reagan rest in peace.

I was thinking about this a week or two ago, and did a simple calculation, in which for simplicity of calculation used a sales tax figure of 10%.
Imagine that have a product with shelf price $20, then sales tax is $2, and total price $22.
Now if it has a tariff of 30%, then its shelf price will then be $20 + $6 = $26, and the sales tax will be $2.60, so not only do you get the direct price increase from the tariff, but the sales tax will also rise.
Note that in practice the sales price increase from the tariff could be greater than $6 (30%), due to it causing other increases in costs along the line.

Why are we talking about sales tax?
Prices go up all the time. (inflation)
Sales tax goes up with it.
The issue is, the tarrif is a NEW tax, and much higher. Sales tax is inconstquental in comparison.
