Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

Yeah, dark times ahead. link

The June 11 memo tells attorneys in the Civil Division to move to strip citizenship from immigrants if they pose a threat to national security or gained the status through fraud by failing to acknowledge past crimes.

But the memo lists a number of other qualifying crimes, adding that attorneys can prioritize denaturalization even for those who are facing “pending criminal charges” that have not yet secured a conviction.

It recommends denaturalization for those “who pose a potential danger to national security, including those with a nexus to terrorism” or who “committed felonies that were not disclosed during the naturalization process” or otherwise made “material misrepresentations.”

It also notes the memo is not intended to place any limits on denaturalization efforts, saying its attorneys can also take up “any other cases referred to the Civil Division that the Division determines to be sufficiently important to pursue.”

They convinced Murkowski that the BBB is good for the country by offering to exempt her state from what's in it.
I've also heard that she thought Paul would flip if she didn't. Appeasing the entire state of Alaska is easier (and cheaper) than Paul, so they went with Murkowski.

Alaska has always sucked the federal teat. And I think for good reasons. How many states have thousands of people that still shit in bucket and have to fly hundreds of miles to see a doctor?

Not having to do with anything, but Alaska isn't cheap to live in for a place with so few amenities and which is so isolated. Oh, and which is so goddamn cold. It's a beautiful state, but it wouldn't exist in its current form without so much $ help from the outside. OTOH, we keep waiting for them and all other Trumpites to change their minds when they suffer the consequences of their vote, but it'll never happen.

Trump could slash their loved one's throats and they'd turn around and call their loved ones secret liberals.

Congress passed it, Trump signed it, now the Trump Admin is illegally impounding funding for schools to the tune of $7 billion to investigate whether the programs are part of "radical leftwing agenda."

This shit won't end with this Administration. Just assert something and then make the lives of thousands of people working in the school systems an absolute pain in the ass. It isn't like schools have wads of cash hanging around to supplement funding.

Education advocates, Democratic lawmakers and school districts were alarmed by the delay, weeks before the next academic year is scheduled to begin. Affected parties are likely to take legal action against the Trump administration within the next week, according to a person familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to address sensitive discussions.

The notice from the Education Department provided little reasoning for the delay, saying the funds were being reviewed “given the change in Administrations.” It said the Trump administration has not yet made decisions concerning funding for the upcoming school year, according to a copy reviewed by The Washington Post.

The Federal budget is actually Federal Law after Trump signs it. But these things just don't matter anymore.

GOP Freedom Caucus is flapping their plumage around, cawing away. They aren't happy with the Senate bill. There are clearly enough of them to stop passage, but we are going to hear about how it was an "imperfect bill" but they needed to "move forward".

The interesting thing is that they are actually making noise. This bill can't be changed without another Senate vote... and they didn't get that across the line easily. But they are likely looking for promises on future legislation, but will there be any?

We have a trade deal! With Vietnam at least, a place we get a good deal of clothing from. The trade agreement will stop the whatever the fuck the tariff was going to be from going int....

In a subsequent post announcing more details, Trump said the United States will charge a 20% tariff for Vietnamese exports into America, and a 40% tariff for “transshipping.” Although it wasn’t immediately clear how Trump’s transshipping plan would work, the term generally refers to foreign goods that are sent through another country before they’re exported to the United States.
The US will tax American consumers roughly 20% on goods from Vietnam. Oh fucking goody!
article said:
“In return, Vietnam will do something that they have never done before, give the United States of America TOTAL ACCESS to their Markets for Trade,” he added. “In other words, they will ‘OPEN THEIR MARKET TO THE UNITED STATES,’ meaning that, we will be able to sell our product into Vietnam at ZERO Tariff.”
So, in return for the US charging ourselves more money to buy Vietnamese made goods, corporations can sell more in Vietnam. Not seeing the plus for the American consumer. He seems to be bragging that Vietnam won't be paying any tariffs... while we fucking are!

And it is Trump, so it gets a little better.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the deal was finalized or whether Vietnam had agreed to what Trump announced. Vietnam’s state-run news outlet, Việt Nam News, reported that General Secretary Tô Lâm and Trump spoke on the phone Wednesday to patch up the terms of the deal, which it referred to as a framework.
So we don't even know if any of the above is true. Oi!

So, in return for the US consumers charging ourselves paying billionaires more money to buy Vietnamese made goods, corporations can sell more in Vietnam.
Win win win, if you’re a billionaire or one of their corporations.
If you’re a consumer, especially a poor one, you’re getting fucked by a fat orange whoremonger.

Well, prole's taxes remain about the same while services are being decreased. Hooray!

Murkin currency is already down 10% vs others this year. So there’s that loss for people drawing paychecks, even without the coming Rrumpflation.

Well, prole's taxes remain about the same while services are being decreased.
I thought so too, but @Bomb#20 assures me funding for services is being increased. I can’t find anything credible to support that assertion, but that could be down to my strict containment within a socialist bubble. /s

Maybe we can give Alaska to Russia in exchange for stopping their invasion of Ukraine.

Art of the deal, baby!!!

Today, I received an official notification from the Social Security Administration celebrating the passage of the Big Beautiful Tax Bill that kept President Trumps promise to seniors. A political ad from SSA.

I did too. I'm not sure what to make of it. I've never received anything political like that before from the SSA. It's curious that I've seen no mention of their point from the bill's supporters. Did I just miss it?

Me too. I suspect anyone on the rolls and has an email addressed registered got it too.

I don't read every post. Has anyone mentioned...

A former FBI agent accused of egging on rioters to attack police during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol is now serving in the Justice Department as part of the so-called "Weaponization Working Group," sources familiar with the appointment confirmed to ABC News.

Jared Wise was on trial when he was pardoned as part of President Donald Trump's sweeping series of pardons and commutations for nearly all of the more than 1,500 individuals charged in connection with the Capitol attack.

According to sources, Wise is now serving in the department as an investigator and counselor to Ed Martin, the former interim D.C. U.S. Attorney, whose permanent nomination to the post was rejected by Republican senators concerned over his past vocal advocacy for Jan. 6 rioters and other controversial actions he took in Trump's first four months in office.
