Got to hang out with her backstage at a show she did for us back in the late 90s when her career was really taking off. Nice lady. Very fun and down to earth. News is she's battling cancer. Hope she beats it.
 
Beyond "I love a rainy night" as that one randomly stuck, can't say that I care fore country music much at all. But...does this count :D

 
This woman came by the station today.

I've been seeing artists come by the station for 20 years now, but this...she's something special. Signed to a major label deal two days ago, and today was her radio tour debut.

If she doesn't become absurdly famous, then there's something wrong with the world.

And as she was leaving the building, our music director and her record rep conspired to make sure that the radio in their rental car was tuned into our station, and she got to hear her song played on the radio for the first time.

My job is cool sometimes.
