I need your help. I have some friends who aren't convinced Trump is racist.
Can someone point to the evidence so i can educate these poor lost souls. Thanks

Really? You're asking for a friend?
Yeah...you wouldn't know them.
It's just that..well...this is a forum where people make their own minds up based on evidence. So it's the perfect place to get the evidence.

You know...so i can help people be rational and base their beliefs on evidence

Anyone who is truly interested in the case for Trump's racism need only google "Trump the racist". You get numerous hits including

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/24/opinion/sunday/is-donald-trump-a-racist.html?_r=0 and
http://www.vox.com/2016/7/25/12270880/donald-trump-racism-history and
http://www.vox.com/2016/7/25/12270880/donald-trump-racism-history are but 3 examples.

I think they actually need some real evidence.
1980s: Kip Brown, a former employee at Trump's Castle, accused another of Trump's businesses of discrimination. "When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor," Brown said. "It was the eighties, I was a teenager, but I remember it: They put us all in the back."
Not evidence. That is an accusation about one of Trump's businesses.

1988: In a commencement speech at Lehigh University, Trump spent much of his speech accusing countries like Japan of "stripping the United States of economic dignity." This matches much of his current rhetoric on China.
Why are you claiming that is evidence?

1989: In a controversial case that’s been characterized as a modern-day lynching, four black teenagers and one Latino teenager — the "Central Park Five" — were accused of attacking and raping a jogger in New York City. Trump immediately took charge in the case, running an ad in local papers demanding, "BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY. BRING BACK OUR POLICE!" The teens’ convictions were later vacated after they spent seven to 13 years in prison, and the city paid $41 million in a settlement to the teens. But Trump in October said he still believes they’re guilty, despite the DNA evidence to the contrary.
Why are you claiming that is racist?

2004: In season two of The Apprentice, Trump fired Kevin Allen, a black contestant, for being overeducated. "You're an unbelievably talented guy in terms of education, and you haven’t done anything," Trump said on the show. "At some point you have to say, ‘That’s enough.’"
Is that racist?

Of this list only Trump's reaction to the Central Park Five really both a solid event that happened and is probably racist in his maintaining after the evidence.

If is not racist it is because he is an egotist and can't see or admit to his mistakes and can't even understand how others see it, a character flaw on par with racism.

Probably it is worse, say you have a serious racist who is compassionate to a lot of his own people and ALSO at times to a couple people of the race he hates. Maybe he became racist because he got physically attacked or swindled or by some of a race was taught racism by others when young. This person can maybe change.

A massive egotist/narcissist/sociopath is probably much, much harder to change than a racist and may damage more people.

People saying that racism is the WORST POSSIBLE characteristic of a person are really fucking things up for everyone. This is not to excuse racism.

Relying on hearsay hardly constitutes evidence that is tangable. However though without saying it, the Press could adopt the Maxim, 'A person only has to accuse; they don't have to prove anything.'

The US has the NY Times (not as bad as the Washington Post) and the UK has the Daily Mail,

In some cases it's making up their minds that what they are told is evidence.

Another bait thread.
Unless you have video of Trump personally lynching a few negroes, WW will deny and deflect. Even if you have such video, it will have have to be certified as un-doctored by a trustworthy third party like Uncle Vlad.

If people are stupid enough to think Trump is anything but a racist judging by his words and his actions, there is nothing anyone can do to help them. You can't cure stupid.

The 2nd link in my post has numerous instances of Trump's alleged racism before he ran for POTUS, such as

1973: The US Department of Justice — under the Nixon administration, out of all administrations — sued the Trump Management Corporation for violating the Fair Housing Act. Federal officials found evidence that Trump had refused to rent to black tenants and lied to black applicants about whether apartments were available, among other accusations. Trump said the federal government was trying to get him to rent to welfare recipients. In the aftermath, he signed an agreement in 1975 agreeing not to discriminate to renters of color without admitting to discriminating before.......
1991: A book by John O’Donnell, former president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, quoted Trump’s criticism of a black accountant: "Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. … I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control." Trump at first denied the remarks, but later said in a 1997 Playboy interview that "the stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true.".......

1992: The Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino had to pay a $200,000 fine because it transferred black and women dealers off tables to accommodate a big-time gambler’s prejudices.
2000: In opposition to a casino proposed by the St. Regis Mohawk tribe, which he saw as a financial threat to his casinos in Atlantic City, Trump secretly ran a series of ads suggesting the tribe had a "record of criminal activity [that] is well documented."...

005: Trump publicly pitched what was essentially The Apprentice: White People vs. Black People. He said he "wasn't particularly happy" with the most recent season of his show, so he was considering "an idea that is fairly controversial — creating a team of successful African Americans versus a team of successful whites. Whether people like that idea or not, it is somewhat reflective of our very vicious world."
2010: Just a few years ago, there was a huge national controversy over the "Ground Zero Mosque" — a proposal to build a Muslim community center in Lower Manhattan, near the site of the 9/11 attacks. Trump opposed the project, calling it "insensitive," and offered to buy out one of the investors in the project. On The Late Show With David Letterman, Trump argued, referring to Muslims, "Well, somebody’s blowing us up. Somebody’s blowing up buildings, and somebody’s doing lots of bad stuff."

2011: Trump played a big role in pushing false rumors that Obama — the country’s first black president — was not born in the US. He even sent investigators to Hawaii to look into Obama's birth certificate. Obama later released his birth certificate, calling Trump a "carnival barker."

2011: While Trump suggested that Obama wasn’t born in the US, he also argued that maybe Obama wasn’t a good enough student to have gotten into Columbia or Harvard Law School, and demanded Obama release his university transcripts. Trump claimed, "I heard he was a terrible student. Terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard?"

And for those with short attention spans, there are his various remarks during the most recent campaign:

Trump launched his campaign calling Mexican immigrants "rapists" who are "bringing crime" and "bringing drugs" to the US. His campaign is largely built on building a wall to keep these immigrants out of the US.
He called for a ban on all Muslims coming into the US. He has since expanded this ban to include anyone from specific countries, including possibly France and Germany.
When asked at a Republican debate whether all 1.6 billion Muslims hate the US, Trump said, "I mean a lot of them. I mean a lot of them."
He argued that Judge Gonzalo Curiel — who’s overseeing the Trump University lawsuit — should recuse himself from the case because of his Mexican heritage and membership in a Latino lawyers association. House Speaker Paul Ryan, who’s endorsed Trump, later called such comments "the textbook definition of a racist comment."
Trump has been repeatedly slow to condemn white supremacists who endorse him, and he regularly retweets messages from white supremacists and neo-Nazis.
He tweeted and later deleted an image that showed Hillary Clinton in front of a pile of money and by a Jewish Star of David that said, "Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!" The tweet had some very obvious anti-Semitic imagery, but Trump insisted that the star was a sheriff’s badge, and said his campaign shouldn’t have deleted it.
Trump has repeatedly referred to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who has said she has Cherokee ancestors, as "Pocahontas."
At the Republican convention, he officially seized the mantle of the "law and order" candidate — an obvious dog whistle playing to white fears of black crime, even though crime in the US is historically low.
In a pitch to black voters, Trump said, "You’re living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?"

One or two of those instances in isolation might be brushed off as missteps but the 40 year + record is clear: Trump is a racist.

If you see his words and actions in context there is nothing racist. For instrance Deporting foreign criminals, rapists and drug pushers out of the country does not mean deporting every foreigner.

Are you saying demanding proof of birth place and nationality is racist. In the UK, I have to produce such documents quite frequently. And the last sentence surely you understood what this meant and there is nothing 'racist' in that statement.

I'm saying that if I was a pro-Russian troll I'd sound exactly like whichphilosophy.

Do you spread lies about the subjects when they're black?

there is nothing 'racist' in that statement.

There is something racist in it when a racist bigot does it in order to discredit a sitting President. Is that what you did in producing those documents?

Obama proved his citizenship many times, but that did not stop Trump from continuing his claims.

My post gave 15 examples of Trump's racist actions and comments. There is a clear pattern there. In isolation, some of those examples might be excusable. But taken in context within his extensive 40 year + record, it is clear that Trump acts and speaks like a racist.

Now, I suppose it is possible that Trump is simply a demagogue and plays the racist to attract support from certain groups. Abstracting from the obvious point that until 2010 or so, Trump had no reason to demagogue, in my opinion that makes him even worse than a racist because at least racists are honest about their motives and thoughts.

That's what obligates trolls to keep sputtering.

I need your help. I have some friends who aren't convinced Trump is racist.
Can someone point to the evidence so i can educate these poor lost souls. Thanks

I don't believe that Trump is a racist. There is no evidence that I have seen that he is. In general, senior business men and women are among the least racist segments of society, at least among the ones that I have been exposed to. Racism is bad business today.

But a sizable portion of his support and of Republican support are racists, about 10% I would say. Their electoral advantage where it exists depends on the racists as much as it does on the various forms of legal and illegal gerrymandering. They are a minority party that has managed a bare majority in the government by the careful exploitation of their advantages such as these and the incompetence of the other party to take full advantage of theirs.

The Republicans and Trump don't have to be overtly racist to maintain the support of the racists, they only have to keep sounding the dog whistles that tell the racists that they are with them.

The Republicans of the 1960's and 1970's into the 1980's realized this. They were cynically catering to the racists to get their votes to enable the Republicans to disadvantage the racists and the 99% in general economically. But eventually the inevitable happened, the dog whistles became so embedded in the Republican psyche that the Republicans slowly started to believe in them. They really believe in welfare queens, in reverse racism reducing the horizons of deserving young white folks, in the poor being responsible for poverty, in Reagan single handedly saving us from forced bussing, the red menace and liberalism run wild, Bush I saving us from hundreds of Willie Hortons, etc. You see the proof of these on a daily basis here, in these pages.

The only difference with Trump is that he doesn't use many of the dog whistles, he tells it like it is but it isn't. How fifty years of Republican propaganda wants you to believe that it is.

Did you miss his interview statements about Judge Gonzalo Curiel?

And in my experience, many senior executives are extremely racist.
