It looks like a regular jacket. Are rich people stupid or something?

I mean, Manafort spent $15K on this jacket? I would not spend $200 on it.

On the other hand, if you have a secret bank account the Russians are sending money to you through, wouldn't you want to buy a jacket that actually shows feathers?

The tailors of Manafort

Wednesday was a legal red carpet moment of sorts for representatives of two menswear boutiques.

The first to testify was Maximillian Katzman, who took the stand in a tailored blue suit, a striped tie and a pocket square. Katzman, 29, was the manager of his father's boutique, Alan Couture.

Katzman described Manafort, who paid the firm nearly $1 million over a five-year period for suits and other items, as a Top 5 client. He said he was the firm's only customer to pay by international wire transfer.

Judge Ellis asked whether all of the company's clients are important. Katzman paused, then replied with a grin: "I don't want to answer that," drawing a burst of laughter from the courtroom.

The other well-dressed individual was Ronald Wall, who is the chief financial officer for the menswear retailer House of Bijan. He testified that Manafort spent more than $330,000 there over a three-year period, all of it paid for by international wire transfers from foreign bank accounts.

Yes, they're stupid. The jackets have big craters where the ostrich's feathers used to be, and I think they look awful. They are, sadly, fashionable to the kind of scrote who thinks Lions make good floor coverings or wall hangings.
 
the leather is supposedly softer. Also, it sounds exotic, even though we have people with ostrich farms here in Minnesota.

Yeah...and Ostrich Steak is a real restaurant item. I'm a carnivore, but Ostrich was just awful - tough and chewy, and not such a great flavour. On the plus side, a leg lasts a whole week ;-)
 
And if you ever need to make an omelet for 20 people...
 
What good is being rich, on paper, if other people don't know?

Ridiculously high prices for clothing is necessary for rich peacocks.
 
Usually I think PETA activists who throw noxious substances on people wearing leather are assholes. But I might make an exception in this case...
