I don't know about Emhoff from umpteen years ago but then I don't read the NYP or DM.
I do think the chaos that is Trump is being somewhat negated by all that is going on in the world, wars and the strike. I definitely think Netanyahu is timing his actions. I hope Biden mostly stands pat and does his best to keep the US military out of the grown ups news.
He can sit on the strike. Warehouses here have filled in anticipation. And Ukraine will suffer along waiting for the okay for deeper strikes within Russia until after the election.

I think in this, Biden actually means the exact opposite.

Does a recreation of the 1939 “America First” rally, in the same space as the first one, qualify? They didn’t deck it out in swastikas this time, but the rhetoric more than made up for that.

The insults of Hispanics, Puerto Ricans in particular, is generating a reaction that may move the needle in PA, which has close to half a million people of Puerto Rican descent. Most were probably already voting for Harris, if they were voting at all, but it’s not going to take a lot to tip the state.

And I doubt other Hispanics were happy to hear that they “don’t pull out; they just come inside”.

“We were only joking” doesn’t seem to be working this time.

I’m looking for a November surprise. An Eisenhower/Dewey kind of surprise except the reverse, where it turns out to be a blue landslide. Absent that, it’s going to be a rough few months in the best case scenario, and years or decades in the worst case (a Trump win, electorally or by violence).
