I see where you are coming from. But for a guy at least, real sex can and often is a physical workout which will not take place with masturbation. And the work out itself releases other endocrines favorable to health and well being. On average, I really think we have evolved for having sex with each other.

But in the absence of nature, masturbation is clearly the best next thing though no argument there.

My tuppenceworth regarding this sub-dispute is:

1. I think someone can only say that for them personally, masturbation is better than sex. This would be the case even if the sex in question was the somewhat extreme hypothetical version devoid of anything other than, say, the presence of a pussy (assuming it's a straight male incel, which it isn't always, since there are female incels, and presumably homosexual male ones and others). Furthermore, my own guess is that the general claim that masturbation is better than sex would not be borne out in opinion polls. That said, my guess would be that some, possibly many, would say masturbation is indeed better, particularly in relation to 'just sex' with another person.

2. Whatever incels say (and to be honest I have not heard any say that all they want is a pussy) I would doubt very much if most if not all don't want some of the other things that accompany sex with another human.

3. For me, the bottom line is that if someone is an incel, that's a predicament which imo is deserving of understanding, compassion and sympathy, and that includes the anger. This is separate from whether it's regrettable or even downright bad or wrong that some seem to channel their feelings in very unproductive or even hateful ways.

ETA: one last pedantic point. Since masturbation is in fact sex, the bare question 'is masturbation better than sex' is invalid. It may even point to a mild form of discrimination, or a prejudice, against masturbation/masturbators. See also: the common British phrase 'sad wanker'. Usually applied to men, I think. It is an example of the polarization that has taken hold of us. That everything is a zero-sum game,, in order for one group to move forward another group has to suffer a movement backward. That for women to advance means that men must lose something. That blacks can only improve their position by whites being disadvantaged. That the collective is forced to trample the individual.
