That's OK; You can just carry a tank of Xenon for extra-atmospheric flight. It's a short range fighter. He's headed for that small moon. That's no moon, it's a space station. I have a very bad feeling about this...

And turbo lasers aren't a thing. And spacecraft wouldn't move as depicted in the Star Wars movies. You might as well complain about the magic in Harry Potter being unrealistic. :p

It is. Rowling clearly describes non-verbal magic as a rare talent, the movies have teenagers pulling it off with ease and constantly. Respect the canon!
