Who is responsible for pregnancies? (Derail from: Policies that will reduce abortions)

Sad, but true.

About a month ago, Rhea started a thread about collaborative efforts to reduce abortion.

That thread petered out after maybe a week. Less than 50 posts.

This thread, where members can argue about trivia and mischaracterize other members opinions, is still bustling along. 500 useless posts.

Rather a good look at why abortion remains a big deal in social and political media. Everyone wants to talk about it and virtue signal their friends. But nobody wants to do anything else.

That's America in a nutshell.

Every unwanted pregnancy begins with some man’s ejaculation. But sure, let’s punish women…
Every unwanted pregnancy begins with some woman's ovulation. But sure, let's punish men...
Women get pregnant even if they do not orgasm or enjoy sex or even if they are raped.

Every pregnancy, wanted or not, starts with some guy ejaculating.
and every pregnancy, wanted or not, ends with a woman's body.
the male contribution to the process - of making a donkey face for 5 seconds and then feeling better about life for maybe 10 minutes which is as long as the endorphin rush lasts before the existential horror of the rest of your life creeps back in - entitles men to nothing in terms of that woman's body.

(toni i know that we're in agreement here, i didn't quote you to try to posit an argument against your statement, you were just the jumping off point for me to soap box a little)
Abortion does enable one fortunate creature to avoid ever experiencing the existential horror of life on this screwed up planet

says the person who post-bombs every thread about abortion, virtue-signaling nonstop via baseless pronunciations without any attempt at rational argument or reasonable rhetoric.

i mean, bold move using yourself to prove your point about how much people like you suck - gotta give you that.

I simply disagree. Abortion remains a big deal because people are “doing” things about it. Roe v Wade settled the issue for the most part for the vast majority of population. A vocal minority of theocrats, misogynists and their dupes worked to unsettle it and have succeeded.

Ironically, it is people with your religious values with their “virtue-signalling” whore-opened the issue.

And the thread about child trafficking that the kids not aborted and still not wanted get funneled into is absolutely stagnant after a couple posts.

Of course that involves actually recognizing that there is a vast network of "religious affiliates" who are child trafficking.

My religious values?

Did I "whore-open" this by staunchly supporting Hillary Clinton while the Wokesters were busy telling each other that she was just another neo-lib?

Sorry.
No.
You're full of crap. That's why people like you and Toni keep misrepresenting me.

Poor Tom.
Typical Wokester.

Think about this. I'm mouthy and very honest, here as well as in real life.

I'm socially conservative and a straight Democratic ticket voter. I'm a gay atheist who is more hard core Pro-Life than the nearest Baptist Minister. I will point out that Jesus and Donald Trump are morally opposing forces. I'm a prude who thinks that everyone, including gay men, should avoid sex until they're with a partner. Etc.

Do you really believe that my morals and worldview are a result of trying to be popular? Trying to fit in with some clique or another?
Guess what...

They're not. I don't give a rats about what anyone else thinks about me on the subject of morality or virtue signaling. I'm accustomed to everyone from you and LD to JC1432 and Jarhyn misrepresenting me and my beliefs.
I do get annoyed. But I'm used to it. This forum isn't really that different, in that regard, than the various Christian forums I've been a member.

I suppose you could sue your parents for subjecting you to experiencing the existential horror of life on this screwed up planet </sarcasm>

I missed that thread about child trafficking. Its half life must have been very short.

It's how Jarhyn refers to adoption.

Yes, the idea that embryos are children or people is a religious value.
Religious values do not require a belief in god.

No. [/quote] For some you feel that nonsense is relevant

Instead of flinging stupid insults to look like an ass, explain how you believe I misrepresented you. Without an explanation, you are misrepresenting me.

A fundamental reality of the internet is that when everyone agrees threads go nowhere.

Nobody's defending how adoption is handled now, thus your thread about how fucked up it is quickly died out.

And here inlies the problem: advocates for adoption over abortion MUST be made to defend it, to answer in defense of this option if they wish to peddle it.

Getting men to take a more active and responsible role in reducing unwanted pregnancies will absolutely reduce abortions. That's the entire fucking point of both my and Toni's positions in this thread!
