Bidengate Breaks... err... down

Does anyone believe Biden when he says he knows nothing about his son's financial doings?

Does anyone believe Hunter Biden did not get a position on an energy company in Ukraine because he was Biden's kid?

Does anyone believe Hunter Biden is not trading on and pedaling influence based on his father?

Does anyone believe the Earth is flat?
If you really care about how much nepotism there is un US politics (and you should), naming one specific individual probably means no one will take you seriously.

And? You didn't mention any reason why anybody should care.

Trying to make a serious issue of nepotism in politics is laughable. It is routine in congress and there will never be any moves to seriously limit it.

The general repose would be tell us something we don't know. In the 50s 60s I grew up hearing 'you can't trust city hall' and 'you can't believe everything you read in the papers' from my extended family. See my thread Business As Usual In American Politics.

MY point was and is corruption in politics is not exactly breaking news. Remember Chappaquiddick?

Somebody mentioned Kushner, I do't see a big difference between him and Hunter Biden. The Hunter Biden issue is pure political theater.

By the yY, who names a kid Hunter? About as bad as Frank Zappa naming his kid Dweezil.

Seems a little odd to me too, although not nearly as strange as Dweezil. I've actually known another guy named Hunter.

And I've got a brother-in-law named after a spice. Apparently, Basil is an old family name. He was named after a recently departed great uncle.

I guess my point is that not all forms of corruption are even remotely equivalent. "All corruption" is bad is not "all corruption is the same". Hunter Biden is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down the list of corruption via nepotism anyone should be worried about.

And still no proof that there is political corruption or nepotism here. Nepotism is when you favor your relative, not when somebody else favors them. Kushner is nepotism, Hunter is not. That a company hired him because of who his father is doesn't make it either political corruption or nepotism. That's just between him and the company.

Well, it wasn't remotely clean from an ethical standard. But Hunter was being used as window dressing. It is unlikely he had to do anything at Burisma. He was being used to whitewash their corporate image.

This whole "laptop" thing has been a massive undertaking of trying to turn Hunter's image into a Presidential scandal using stuff that didn't seem to come from a laptop.

But unethical by who? Not JB. And it's not so much unethical as it is not best practice, since it creates the potential for corruption. HB should not have taken that (legal) job, but that's on him and his employer.

I consider "best practice" issues to be ethical issues. Maybe that isn't the correct way for me to label it. Certainly, there were people raising red flags with the deal to begin with, back then... and not too much from the right-wing, if I remember correctly.

Yes, nothing was ever uncovered, or really specifically suggested regarding the deal or a quid quo pro. It was more the potential for providing an avenue for it. Meanwhile Trump...

No surprise the FBI were interfering with the "Laptop From Hell" story;

Timothy Thibault, the FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the case, reportedly retired from the bureau at the end of last week and on Friday was escorted out of the building for the last time, according to Fox News. Thibault was one of 13 assistant special agents assigned to investigate the Hunter Biden laptop saga and was removed from the supervisory role by FBI Director Christopher Wray earlier this month after agency whistleblowers shed light on an alleged pattern of political bias from multiple high-ranking officials.

Great news! Maybe finally we'll get some evidence that Potus is the "big guy" and that $10,000 was paid to him. Should be pretty easy to prove if true.

No political bias in Billyboy Barr announcing that the Muller report didn't say what it said...
Funny how Swizzy failed to take note of that.

You deliberately ignore the point. So predictable and boring.
What? That Hunter Biden's laptop was seized and has indisputable proof of President Biden using his influence as VP for economic gain... but The Daily Mail has failed to provide anything other than an email or text message, and have provided no documentation that would be admissible in court? Was that your point?

Because The Daily Mail has gone Taco Bell on this laptop... providing essentially the same darn claim wrapped up in a taco or burrito shell in a dozen or so different ways. I wouldn't be shocked if The Daily Mail starts citing their own articles as new news.

I tuned to Faux Nooz again, and again they we’re going on about Hunter’s laptop.
It reeks of Republitard panic. They GOTTA talk about something besides the orange albatross hanging around the GQP neck. But it’s sad/comical that the mythical Laptop-of-No-Consequence is the best they can do. Carry on, you self-interested fools!
When in early 2016 I told a trumpsucker that Trump was God’s gift to democrats, I had no idea how starkly it would be demonstrated. It has taken a lot longer to materialize than I anticipated, but here we are!

Nearly two-thirds of Americans feel that the information from Hunter Biden's laptop is 'important,' despite whistleblowers' claims that FBI leadership tried to suppress the story and downplay its contents. A Rasmussen Reports survey tracking the public's perception of the Hunter laptop story shows that 44 percent Americans think it's still 'very important' to follow the findings while another 19 percent say it's 'somewhat important'. Continued skepticism over the importance of Biden's laptop comes as whistleblowers from the FBI and Justice Department are stepping forward to allege a stream of bias within the bureau and agency. Senator Chuck Grassley said in July that he spoke to 'highly credible' whistleblowers alleging an effort within the FBI to downplay or discredit negative information about Hunter and the laptop story.

Alright! More Hunter Biden laptop... Taco Bell style.

Now instead of talking about any data on it (or how they've reported on almost nothing from a laptop)... they are reporting on what people allegedly think about the Hunter Biden laptop. And I honestly have a hard time believing the poll results from Rasmussen. Because, the only people that even know about, forget care about, the laptop are those who watch Fox News or worse. And the poll says 44% think this is "very important". The funny thing is, only 38% said they are following this "very important" thing "very closely". That 44% is likely bullshit as those type of people would find anything potentially bad about a Democrat to be the "MOST IMPORTANT FUCKING THING EVER!!!!"

Had the media not covered up the story, would Biden have been elected?

29% Very likely
17% Somewhat likely
25% Not very likely
23% Not at all likely

What in the heck is the difference between not very likely and not at all likely?

This is really a Schrodinger's Laptop.

TSwizzle: There is a laptop that has no power to it. It has data. That data could be detrimental to President Joe Biden.
Person B: So what's on it?
TSwizzle: The media isn't saying.
Person B: What about the investigators?
TSwizzle: You aren't listening! It has data. That data could be detrimental to President Joe Biden.
Person B: When will we find out?
TSwizzle: President Biden won't allow that.
Person B: So we have to wait 2.5 more years of this bullshit?
TSwizzle: THERE WERE EMBARRASSING EMAILS AND PICS!!!

So we're still trying to make Hunter Biden's laptop a thing, huh?

In other news:
Security camera video made public Tuesday shows that a phony elector who tried to reverse the results of the last presidential election escorted a group of computer experts into the elections office in Coffee County, (Georgia) where they copied confidential software and files in January 2021...

“It looks to be a coordinated effort at the highest levels of the Trump campaign,” said David Cross, an attorney for the plaintiffs in the lawsuit. “What we see here is what looks to be an interstate effort to get access to the Dominion voting equipment and in particular the underlying software.”

On the video, Cathy Latham, the chairwoman for the Coffee County Republican Party at the time, greets four technicians for SullivanStrickler outside the county’s elections office on Jan. 7, 2021. She then walks them into the office, where they copied half a terabyte of files from an elections server, memory cards, ballot scanners and other computers.

Latham exercised her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination about 300 times during a deposition last month, according to a transcript. She didn’t return calls to her listed phone numbers Monday.

Before the video surfaced, Latham had denied that Trump supporters were given access to election equipment, telling The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in May, “That’s bull hockey. If that had happened, that would have been all over town.”
The article notes that there were also attempts to steal voter data in Colorado and Michigan, and among the people associated with this effort are (unsurprisingly) Sydney "Kraken" Powell, Doug "Cyber Ninjas" Logan, and Mike "My Pillow" Lindell.

But hey...Hunter Biden's laptop, right?

Rasmussen Poll Question 3
How likely is it that Joe Biden was consulted about and perhaps profited from his son Hunter's overseas business deals including at least one involving a company in mainland China?

There's nothing on Joe and Jill's tax return. There is something about a Xinjiang VocTech center on something called 1120-F, whatever that is but other than that, nothing.
