Breakdown In Civil Order

This is a frequent problem here;

Firefighters are battling a brush fire they believe started at a homeless encampment in southern California. Footage of the blaze shows large clouds of smoke billowing alongside a busy Los Angeles County freeway Thursday evening. Although dramatic looking, the fire, which spanned approximately four acres, wasn't a threat to any structures. However, it did shutdown Interstates 605 and 105, causing major traffic jams.

Aren't you at least a little curious as to whether a bunch of homeless encampments were destroyed in the process? I thought that would be an -on the bright side- moment for folks hell bent on getting rid of them without offering solutions.

No, there is unrest because left-wing prosecutors do not go after rioters so they do it again and again. 2014 was bad, 2020 was 10 times worse. Why? Because the 2014 rioters got a slap on the wrist at best. And so did 2020 rioters, so you already know the next series of race riots will be bad.

Was Ricky Shiffer a "member" of Antifa? Are you really so blindered that you fall for Hannity-Carlson lies, or by now do you just parrot their talking points reflexively, unconcerned about truth?

You've been told, over and over, that it is right-wing terrorists who pose by far the larger threat to America. This information comes from the FBI. Or do you agree with Shiffer and others of your ilk that the FBI is now part of the Marxo-Islamic/Soros/AOC/Pedophile axis?

That the FBI is under attack by something other than the America is fascist crowd points to our descent into disorder.

I'm the last one to defend Derec but he's not a Fox News worshiper. In fact, regardless of him being wrong about some cases (like the George Floyd incident to give an example) and seeming to only focus on the left, he is correct about the acts of unlawfulness and terrorism that comes from the left. I've been warned/wrong when attempting to describing him before so..... embracing fallout.

So you are interested in ancient history.

Donna Joan Borup is wanted for her alleged participation in a violent anti-apartheid demonstration at JFK International Airport in Queens, New York, on September 26, 1981.

On July 31, 1972, Wright, and others who were arrested, hijacked a Delta Airlines jet en route from Detroit, Michigan, to Miami, Florida.

Cheri Laverne Dalton is wanted for her alleged involvement in the Brinks Armored Car robbery which occurred on October 21, 1981

Catherine Marie Kerkow
is wanted for her alleged involvement in the hijacking of Western Airlines Flight 701 which was to fly from Los Angeles, California, to Seattle, Washington, on June 3, 1972

Elizabeth Anna Duke
is wanted for her alleged involvement in a series of criminal activities during the late 1970's and early 1980's

Leo Frederick Burt
is wanted for allegedly participating in the bombing of Sterling Hall, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin, on August 24, 1970.

Ishmail Muslim Ali is wanted for his alleged involvement in the December 31, 1984, hijacking of American Airlines Flight 626

Jose Espinosa Caballero is wanted for his alleged involvement in the September 8, 1980, hijacking of Eastern Airlines Flight 161

Ambrose Henry Montfort is wanted for his alleged involvement in the September 22, 1983, hijacking of American Airlines Flight 625

None of those people have appeared on the FBI's"most wanted" list for some years now. Maybe they were caught. Or they died out. All but one of them would be in their mid 70s or early 80s now if they are still alive. Times have moved on, and unlike you, the FBI has been aware of this for some years.

From the report by Dale L. Watson, Executive Assistant Director, Counterterrorism/Counterintelligence Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Washington, DC February 06, 2002:
During the past decade we have witnessed dramatic changes in the nature of the terrorist threat. In the 1990s, right-wing extremism overtook left-wing terrorism as the most dangerous domestic terrorist threat to the country.
And from Jill Sanborn, Executive Assistant Director, National Security Branch, Federal Bureau of Investigation's Statement Before the House Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies, Washington, D.C. April 29, 2021:
The top threat we face from DVEs [Domestic Violent Extremists] continues to be those we categorize as racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists, specifically those who advocate for the superiority of the white race, and who were the primary source of fatalities perpetrated by DVEs in 2018 and 2019.

Derec's not wrong about it. It's just wrong to bring up in the context.

One thing describes unruly people in a situation of civil unrest, and the other describes distinct terrorist acts committed against people for enforcing against acts of nuclear treason, sedition, and attempting to overthrow an election of a military superpower

Which one of these folks is "right wing"?

The existence of other people who also commit crimes is not, in any way, a defence.

The existence of vast numbers of currently active left wing terrorists, even if it were a real thing, would STILL not change in any way the fact that right wing terrorists are a threat to Americans, not excuse their terrorism, nor even suggest that resources spent on combating those right wing terrorists were misspent.

WTF is it with the right wing that makes them think "Other people do it too" is a valid defence, when it is instead quite clearly an admission of guilt?

They are lazy and apathetic, and do not have the ability to exist as unique individuals outside of the hive mind. And many of them are downright stupid as well.

The civil rights movement was won by America being given an opportunity to look at itself in the mirror. It was done non violently by many people with the balls to not rely on Molotov cocktails, burning businesses and the like. Just sayin.

I don't want to drag the whole thread off topic, but I definitely think there's room to ask whether an all-carrot-no-stick method would actually have worked. In a way, suburban white America chose the Civil Rights effort they were least afraid of. I don't think there's any guarantee, without Malcolm as the sacrificial counter-example, that King would ever have been beatified as the patron saint of reasonable Blackness.

Thanks, Hermit. You saved me some clicking. (And it looks like you took much effort to expose that that page is obsolete,)

So, the FBI website seems to have a "Domestic Terrorist" section of its Most Wanted List, that may not have been updated for almost 40 years! Perhaps "Domestic Terrorism" stopped being used as their search term — the webpage organizer replaced it with something else — and the webmaster forgot to delete or update the 'dt' page. (The details must be more complicated since FBI didn't have a website 30 years ago!) Or perhaps there's a mole for the right-wing liars inside the FBI website operation who dug these old wanted posters off an old backup tape, put it on the website and leaked the URL to FoxNews or a troll farm, just to abet the faulty Oleg/Derec meme.

Let's ask Oleg.

@ Oleg — There IS one way you can be useful here. How did you get fooled? Where did you get your URL? Did it show up in a Google search? Did you find it on Facebook, or some other venue where trolls abound? Can you remember what the troll wrote to convince you he or she (or it) was on the level?

And what was your reaction when Hermit showed you that the most recent act of terrorism in your link occurred in 1984?

The award-winning 2014 movie Selma hints at this very point. Malcolm X is depicted in the film and, IIRC, he almost makes this point himself!

If you do a simple search you’ll find it. Are you suggesting the FBI’s website has been compromised, or something? Really. Type in “FBI most wanted domestic terrorist.” Sorry to bust your narrative.

I had a post abortively and haphazardly assembled that was going to say this much less eloquently.

Hey, Oleg, I replied to your bullshit here. Enjoy.

For example, I view black-on-black violence as a signal that society needs to be compassionate and seek better opportunities and outcomes.
As a society we should always look to offer more opportunities and better outcomes. But that does not mean violent crime, no matter the race of the perpetrator, should be excused.
The Ilk uses it to scoff when blacks are killed by cops, or when demonstrations attract looters.
Most people, black, white or otherwise, killed by police did something to justify that shooting. In most cases, firearms or other weapons were involved. In most of the others, the perp was attacking the police officer.
So yes, I scoff when activists, media and not few politicians pretend these people are "gentle giants" or that justified killings are "murder" (see Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren)

I think MTG, Boebert, Hawley and Gaetz are very despicable and are among the very most disgusting Congresscritters. Derec probably thinks so too, but he never admits it. Instead he directs much misplaced venom against AOC!
You are not wrong that I dislike the four you mention just like I dislike AOC and her Squad. It's not a matter of "admitting" it. MTG et al do not have any fans on here, but the Squad does. So what's the point of me writing against them when people already agree? There is discussion to be had about the Squad. And my dislike (I would not call it venom!) for AOC and her policies is well deserved, and not at all misplaced.

Also, Congresscritters are not really on topic on here unless they opine or introduce legislation on matters related to civil order. Like when AOC wanted BdB to cut NYPD budget even more than he did.
Ocasio-Cortez dismisses proposed $1B cut: ‘Defunding police means defunding police’

I do realize that AOC often comes across as unpolished, extremist, and not particularly intelligent.
You are right on the last two, but I do think she is a polished product with her social media presence especially.

I actually think AOC is quite intelligent, but I recognize that she may not come across that way.
She has a very superficial understanding of things, I think. She did well in school, and maybe she would score relatively high (top decile or at least quintile) on an IQ test, but she is not a deep thinker. Her embrace of "defund the police" mantra alone should show you that.

My demeanor and diction often cause people who first encounter me to assume I'm dumb.
Well, you do not come across as dumb on here at least. Often misguided, but not dumb.

I mentioned Maryland because, regardless of party alignment, The Wire showed that the City police was dependent on financing from the State.
I never claimed states play no role.

I was NOT asking whether their gun purchases were LEGAL. My question is: In an improved version of the U.S. would it be appropriate that such semi-sociopathic immature and hate-filled wannabes have guns?
I do not think right to bear arms (or privilege to bear arms in a version of the US with no individual 2nd amendment right) should be contingent on somebody's politics or on popularity. The only reason people hate on Ritt is that he killed some Antifas in self defense during a violent #BLM riot for Jacob Blake (whose shooting was 100% justified btw).
Now Z is a more complex issue. He really is an asshole who just happened upon another asshole and lived to tell the tale. Asshole on asshole violence. So I could see him not passing some requirement.
What would you base gun ownership in your "improved version of the U.S."?

Matt Gaetz hired a 17-year old hooker. Is that someone we want in Congress? It's not my fault that transporting her across state lines triggered a "trafficking" statute.
If it does, that's bad law. Did he even know she was 17?
If Gaetz gets convicted and sentenced to prison, he would not have to give up his seat. He would be allowed to attend sessions and vote in House.
Who is this "we" anyway? I have no say in Gaetz. I do not live in FL1.

A "distraction" you spent 16 words on. Would it have been so onerous to type the single word "Disapprove"?
Or can't you bring yourself to condemn sedition when it comes from the Ilk you align yourself with?
Again, this obsession with Trump is misplaced in his thread as there are dozens of threads about him.
Yes, I disapprove of sedition. Whether Trump committed any crime, I do not know.
None of this is relevant to this thread though.

In the local news.

A 14 year old girl and a 15 ye\ar old boy arrested for armed robbery. They car jacked somebody but had trouble with the car. They stole anoher car and ran it into a business temporarily holding a kid hostage.
In Seattle? Will probably get a few months in juvi.
