Trump's Major Announcement.. OMFG!!!

I read that it “sold out”. Wut? How can a digital image sell out? Why is what sold out any different from a screenshot of what sold out?

Apparently these stinky NFTs were limited to 45,000. And now are being resold for up to $200. I will hand it to Trump. He is a grifter's grifter.
Is this grift, or is this a way to "anonymously" give him money?

So Trump is comparing himself to Homelander. First decision he's made that I agree with.

I might open my wallet for the right NFT. Maybe in a cell with Bubba. On a toilet. Kissing Biden's ass. Handcuffed. There are possibilities.
Apparently you can't pick and choose. They're like loot boxes.

Trump’s new NFT collection is already losing value in the secondary market

It varies from NFT to NFT, of course, but a look at OpenSea sales shows that bids for many of the Trump cards have dropped. Take, for instance, Trump Digital Trading Card #10337, which shows the former president ripping open his shirt to show a superhero outfit (with a giant T across his chest) and the Statue of Liberty and an American flag waving in the background. Originally sold for 0.095 Ether (about $120), the best offer on it by midday Thursday stood at around 0.0565 Ether (roughly $71.89). Similar bids are offered on several other Trump NFTs.

Someone hacked the buyers list. Several notable names from it.:

V. Poutine
Vladimir Pootypoot
V. Puttin
MBS
Mohammed B. Lakeperch
Momo Catfish

I never noticed he has eyes like a chameleon.

Was he always able to point them in different directions or is this supposed to be a superpower?

I am experiencing some schadenfruede that the value is dropping. When I read that they sold out, and gave trump $4.6M I just shook my damn head with sadness. But on seeing that those 45,000 people may be getting feedback from the invisible hand of the free market that they are supporting a con…. I feel a little bit glad that the message might get through.

I think "might" is a bit strong. I feel it is closer to "a very small probability" of getting through.

I'm seeing reports of a lot of complaints that people thought they were buying real, physical trading cards. And complaints that the actual .jpg purchased is is of such poor resolution it's not suitable for printing.

A fool and his money...

I also saw Michael Flynn, Steve Bannon, and Sebastian Gorka complaining about the scam but blaming it on some unknown underling at Mar A Lardo who came up with the idea and talked Trump into going along with it. That just had to be the explanation. To them, Trump remains blameless.

Wenn das der Führer wüsste!

Many more examples in the thread.

In Donald Trump’s long career of licensing his name to seemingly random products like steaks, airlines, and online courses, his launch of an online art series is surely the strangest yet.

Posting what he called a “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT” to his “Truth Social” website on Thursday, the disgraced ex-president urged supporters to buy “digital trading cards” of crudely made memes of himself which can be traded on cryptocurrency markets as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Some of the images, which were offered at a $99 initial price, appear to be based on copyrighted photos which may not be properly licensed.

Holy crap! You all really have to read this one. Way too much to just include a short clipping. Kurt Eichenwald shows just how far and deep this scam goes.

Leaning toward “highly unlikely”. Just change up the scam and come at them again. In the meantime they’ll be snapping up Franklin Mint collectibles.

How is this not fraud? From the article alone some key callouts were not supplying terms and conditions, a fake address that leads to a post office box and the fact that 2710 Thomas Avenue seems to be a sharehouse for every scam in the fucking Northern Hemisphere.

I'm quite fucking serious - how is this not fraud?
