How do politicians make sure they accomplish what they set out to when they are in politics?

The quick answer is that with goals like these Congressional action will be necessary and thus there is no way to "make sure" these are accomplished. Likely they never will given the current state of Congress and the public's opinions on these topics. The best you can do is to say to your constituents that these are your goals and you will back and introduce legislation to attempt to achieve them. When you are unsuccessful and up for reelection it will be up to your voters if they want to see you try again. If people like MTG and Lauren Boebert can be elected more than once then there's probably hope for anyone. However, George Santos proves that you shouldn't simply lie about who you are, thus tricking your constituents into voting for someone they think you are but really aren't.

Respectfully, I think you guys are wrong. Snowflakes fit very well in the Republican Party because they are only called snowflakes if they are not Republicans. Consider Donald Trump: he's one of the biggest snowflakes there is, very easily triggered, and that's the thing, it might even be a benefit to a Republican. Their schtick is to always go on the offense and always having a thin skin allows one to imagine verbal assaults and demand apologies and all sorts of other drama that would work very well on his quest to move up the ladder.

As to your other point that people actually have to want his agenda, I think that is somewhat true, but not completely. Don't forget that QAnons are highly propagandized and can therefore change beliefs under the right circumstances. Take a look how Republicans support Russia now all of the sudden, for example. Also, consider redistricting, a successful Republican tactic that allows minority viewpoints such as theirs to sometimes have equal footing against majority-held ideas through biased representation. So, I am not sure that his views being minority views, at least some of them, are a non-starter, especially if he is in the right district...like white, Christian, conservative...look at how lunatics like MTG and Mike Johnson won in their districts.

Finally, don't forget the Overton window. He's on a plan that spans several years. How crazy will the country be by then with more and more propaganda from Putin, Trump, and other oligarchs?

So let's not be killjoys here. Keep hope alive.

Seeing as Republicans actually set out to accomplish nothing, sitting on your hands would do just fine.

You don't belong in political office anyway, Marge.
Your opinion doesn't matter anyway. I'm still gonna run for office and do all these things anyway and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
They could move to your district and switch party affiliations to vote against you in the primary and you'd never know. :codeninja:
I think that he can lose all by hisself.

I would like to know how politicians make sure they set out to accomplish what they want when they are in politics. Like some of my top goals are below how can a politician make sure they accomplish these?

These are some of my top goals are below. How can a politician make sure they have the best chance of accomplishing these goals.

1. Passing a law that men and women are the only genders recognized by the U.S government
2. A nationwide "don't say gay bill"
3. Overturning same sex marriage
4. Banning gender affirming care
5. Stopping illegal immigration
6. Overturning the law that made same sex relationships legal
7. Banning transgender athletes from playing sports.
8. Mass deportation of migrants.
Is this a bad joke? If not, your goals and beliefs are disgusting.
It’s not a joke at all I’m dead serious.
Again, your "campaign" is gonna be DOA because - to put it kindly - you're a combative, easily-triggered snowflake who can't take a (verbal) punch.

On top of that, your "top goals" listed above are not popular, and in order to get elected, you have to convince a majority of people that you have ideas they like.

1. Not popular, and certainly not supported enough to be passed into law.
2. Not popular, and runs afoul of the 1st Amendment.
3. This has been explained to you. Also not popular.
4. This is a matter between a person and their medical care provider. What's next? Banning cancer treatments you find offensive?
5. Yeah, good luck with that. There is a multi-billion dollar trade in undocumented labor, and in order to stop it you're going to have to take on some very large financial interests. They've been winning on this one for...well...as long as we've had a border with Mexico.
6. Again, this has been explained to you. This is a settled matter.
7. Who are you to tell individuals they can't play sports? Are you planning to arrest people you think "look trans" at the local softball or soccer field?
8. See above. Also, when your constituents see the impact to their pocketbooks in terms of higher priced (or simply unavailable) produce along with the staggering tax bill for rounding up and deporting millions of people all at once, you'll be voted out of office right quick.

But who are we kidding? You're not going to get elected. Because in addition to running on a platform that a majority of people support (yes, you'd rile up the villagers enough to be competitive in a deep red district primary, but never win the general) you'll need money. Lots of money. Unless you're running for state representative of a heavily gerrymandered district in Bumblefuck, Nowherestan, you're gonna need donors. For a federal level Congressional race? You're gonna need a couple million minimum. Do you have people lined up to give you that kind of cash? More importantly, do you have people lined up to give you even more money than your primary opponent...who's probably an incumbent who's got all the big donors locked up?

I'm guessing the answer is "no," and your attitude of "vote for me or I'll come down there and kick your ass" is not going to go over even with the ignorant rednecks who support your "top goals."
What your saying isn't even true I've already talked to the head of the republican party in my city and he's already talked to me about a plan of how I am going to run for a congressional seat when I run for office. What your saying isn't true at all.

The goals I am talking about I am clearly not going to say all these things to voters I am going to say what is going to get me the most votes then do what I want. What your saying isn't true at all.

So what’s your plan for so thoroughly and consistently lying to voters that your real plans and beliefs won’t don’t to light until after you’re elected?

What is your plan fir convincing other co great members to support the same things you do?

Have you ever heard of the word ethics? Do you know what it means?

You can keep trying to tell me all you want how something isn't going to work. I KNOW what I am doing here so it doesn't matter what you keep saying about how it's not gonna work.
What is your plan fir convincing other co great members to support the same things you do?
You clearly aren't aware of the fact that there are already people in congress and the supreme court who support the same things I did. You clearly aren't aware of who is in the republican congress and the supreme court.

You can probably tell the voters what your goals are in the PRIMARY. The Republicans will be okay with it because they're fucking crazy. It's later in the GENERAL ELECTION when you should lie about your positions.

I KNOW what I am doing here
I'm curious. What are you doing here?
When it comes out that you were at this forum seeking advice, then threatening people who gave you their honest opinions, this whole charade will probably be more of a detriment to any prospective political career than a help.

Reading is fundamental.

In my former career, I worked with/interacted with: Senators and Representatives at the federal level, as well as Governors, state Secretaries of State, have friends and relatives who won state congressional seats, and worked with consultants and strategists from both major parties. And while it is true I never ran for office myself....

Neither have you, champ. Considering your earlier answer about lying to people regarding who you really are....do WE here know who you really are? [removed]

So what you are saying is what you will say isn't going to be true at all.

The other thing that I find entertaining is that Buzz seems to think he's now a shoe-in for a seat in the US Congress because he talked to the head of the Republican party in his city.

It makes me want to say "oh bless your heart."
Either the local party flack is just as clueless, or 'ole Buzz is being sold a bill of goods.

There's also this to consider.
There are definitely places where Buzz's attitude and opinions would likely win. But I suspect that those places already have a bunch of other people with them. Quite likely people with better credentials.
I dunno.

The goals I am talking about I am clearly not going to say all these things to voters I am going to say what is going to get me the most votes then do what I want. What your saying isn't true at all.

What I find entertaining is that this dude that openly admits he has never ran or won a campaign before in his life thinks he knows what he’s talking about. Get outta here

Like I said you don’t know anything you have never ran or won a political campaign before in your life. You don’t know anything

There's also this to consider.
There are definitely places where Buzz's attitude and opinions would likely win. But I suspect that those places already have a bunch of other people with them. Quite likely people with better credentials.
I dunno.

Or more to the point, with better skills. I'm reminded of my former Congressional Representative. A glad-handing blowhard who never seemed to turn off his public persona. But he had confidence, a kind of charisma, and political skills, and went on to host a talk radio show after leaving Congress.
So far, 'ole Buzz ain't exactly exuding charisma or skill. Again, easily triggered into going off script. The politicians I've interacted with don't fly into a "you wouldn't say that to my face!" rage at all, let alone almost instantly.
