President-elect Donald Trump has picked Dr. Mehmet Oz to serve as the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

“I have known Dr. Oz for many years, and I am confident he will fight to ensure everyone in America receives the best possible Healthcare, so our Country can be Great and Healthy Again!” Trump said in a statement on Tuesday.

Well, I think coverage of snake oil will go up now. Dr. Fucking Oz?!?! We might be three days away from Big Mouth Billy Bass being named head of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

If we survive this, it may start indicating that it doesn't actually matter who is in Government, or at least for some relative short period of time.

Although it doesn't seem likely they will suddenly grow a spine. Even if they do grant it to him, the constitutionality can still potentially be challenged in court.

I think Trump will prevail on his noms, and that SCOTUS will ably assist. As a friend of the court, I suggest the following lines of judicial reasoning to Justices Alito and Thomas. All of these cases can be decided with the history and tradition test -- rather easily.
1) Gaetz for AG - Okay, a lot of talk about intercourse with a 17-year-old. History and tradition would say that this follows a pattern set by Jefferson, who got Sally Hemings pregnant at age 16 during a fabulous Paris vacation. And Jefferson's on the nickel and the $2 bill. Confirm.
2) RFK Jr. for HHS - Yes, the brain worms and yes, the whale head. Let's stick with the bigger issue, the whale head, which is much bigger than a worm. History/tradition reminds us that the U.S. economy was bolstered by whaling for the first 100 years of our history, and that whale heads, which were chock full of spermaceti, whale oil, and whalebone, literally illuminated the country with candles and lamps and filled the nation's tchotchke shelves with scrimshaw. Confirm.
3) Gabbard for dir. of intel - Yes, she's a dumbass with no background in intel whatsoever, but hist./trad. tells us that all of Washington's government officials in 1789 came to office with no experience in the departments they were heading. I mean, duh. Confirm.
4) Pete Hegseth for sec. defense - Okay, he nudged Trump to pardon war criminals, but h/t tells us that the fed. gov. pardoned just about all of the Confederates. Yes, Petey did throw an axe that hit a West Point drummer, but h/t supports him with 3/4 of Mount Rushmore having an axe-wielding back story: GW with that damn cherry tree, Abe the railsplitter, and Teddy with 'Speak softly but use an axe to hack out a great big stick.' Confirm.

Trump is already leading in the great American tradition. Trust this man's judgment.

I have to post a few lines regarding this candidate from an article I read in WaPo.

A spokeswoman for Oz in 2022 said the physician’s interest in hydroxychloroquine was driven by his desire to find treatments for the novel coronavirus.
Some health-care groups congratulated Oz on his nomination.
“We look forward to working with the Administration to advance Americans’ health care outcomes and protect 24/7 patient care,” the Federation of American Hospitals, an association of for-profit hospitals, said in a statement.
But others called Oz’s nomination a shocking departure.
“At this rate, they should rename the department the Department of Hydroxychloroquine, Homeopathy, and Supplements,” Peter Lurie, president of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a nonprofit that focuses on food and health safety, said in a statement.

That's about right. The man is a fraud, a so called doctor who has been peddling worthless supplements for years. He is perfect for the chain of fools that Trump wants in his cabinet.
