Why the Constitution is now null and void

The president made an executive order on day one that security clearances can be given out without any background checks, financial disclosures, or conflict of interest disclosures. Then Musk was given some kind of “special government employee” status.
Musk already had the highest security clearance you can get because of his rocket business.
No, Trump has a limited clearance. His lawyers advised him to not ask for more.

The space entrepreneur Elon Musk is unlikely to receive government security clearances if he so applied, even as his SpaceX launch company blasts military and spy agency payloads into orbit, according to a report on Monday.

The billionaire, a close ally of Donald Trump, who is set to join the incoming administration as an efficiency expert and recently became the first person to exceed $400bn in self-made personal wealth, is reported by the Wall Street Journal to have been advised by SpaceX lawyers not to seek highest-level security clearances owing to personal drug use and contacts with foreign nationals.

Musk currently holds a “top-secret” clearance that took years to obtain after he discussed use of marijuana on a 2018 podcast with Joe Rogan, according to the outlet. But that may not be enough to have access to information about US government payloads in his rockets.

Typically, candidates undergoing federal security screenings by the department of defense may not receive clearance if the agency expresses concerns about drug or alcohol use, criminal conduct, psychological conditions, sexual behavior or allegiance to the US.

According to the Journal, Musk’s lawyers outlined scenarios in which he might inadvertently disclose secrets to foreign officials with whom he regularly speaks, including the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, with whom he is reported to have been in regular contact since 2022.

Musk’s use of another semi-legal drug, ketamine, in pursuit of what friends call “pure creativity”, along with reports of LSD, ecstasy and magic mushrooms, could also be an issue.

That was prior to Trump’s EO, right? Now he wouldn’t have to pass a background check for at least six months.

I mean we know they paid 90% of Ukronazi-media, and we know BBC were copy-pasting them like crazy,
No we don't know that. We only know you keep saying it. One of Rump's tricks. Say an opinion loud enough and long enough, and people will believe it.
That's perfect. USAID paid media does not say they are paid by USAID, hence they are not

Rumpsuckers are stupid on average, but their outstanding and defining quality is not stupidity, but intellectual sloth.
Spent some time with one of my bro-in-laws yesterday who voted for Trump. He had no idea of what was going on with Trump and Musk.
My sister and bro-in-law is like that too. It's aggravating.
My brother in law, despite being highly educated is a Trump supporting idiot. He's still trying to convince Mr. Sohy that Trump is doing a great job as president. :angryfist:

I waved to one of my Trump supporting neighbors, the really nice one across the street and then said, "you stupid Trump supporting idiot" No, he had no idea what I said as we were in the car at the time.

Mister Musky needs to be subpoenaed by Congress like, yesterday.
I don't know why Dems aren't making more noise.
They tried it but were denied because they are the minority party.
Maybe some States need to put out warrants on him, start seizing properties etc.
And your side is the side that calls Trump Hitler?

Even if you do think Musk is Hitler, he is only working for Trump. Trump is the one you should be putting out warrants on and seizing property because Trump is the only one who has the authority over the executive branch. Trump created DOGE and a federal judge has assumed a non-existent authority to block the Department of Government Efficiency from Labor Department data essential for the Department of Government Efficiency to do its job.

So you should be going after Trump the elected POTUS who ran his platform on this issue everyday. But if Trump can't see this data who can see the data? If it is protected by privacy laws, how could it have been collected? If the data is private, what is the Treasury Department doing with it? Why can one Department that reports to the President have the data, but not another? Can judges deny the President from having information in departments that report to him? Can the CIA deny the President national security data? Somehow it is “unlawful” for the President to know what is going on in his government. If the government is not the President’s, whose government is it? The establishment’s? The civil service’s? The judiciary’s?

It looks like Trump needs to start cleaning out DOJ corruption even before he can have Musk continue with DOGE.
Jesus Christ, you really love fascism and tyranny so long as it's your own tribe doing it don't you?

Wow.

Even I knew that denying security clearance to the CEO of SpaceX was something of a cause célèbre. And here is RVonse -- the distinguished researcher who has spent hundreds of hours poring over objective scholarly articles clarifying the relationship between USAID and the CIA; who has a firm grasp on all the details of Project 2025; and who knows more about the FedRes than all the FedRes Governors and Economics Professors put together -- telling us he somehow overlooked this interesting tidbit.

But still, one has to admire RVonse's self-confidence! He didn't ask "Doesn't Musk already have ..." or "I think Musk already has ..." He just boldly announces that "Musk already had the highest security clearance you can get because of his rocket business." This reminds me of what computer experts were saying several decades ago about the earliest efforts at AI:

"Often wrong, but never in doubt."

Wow.

Ok I stand corrected. I saw this on fake news and assumed (incorrectly) it was true since Musk does have a top secret clearance.

A top secret clearance should still be enough for this job though. All Musk is doing is auditing the cockroaches out of the government that I do not want to pay for. And some of you might feel the cockroaches are useful but I don't. Trump ran on this and is only doing what he said (on a daily basis) he was going to do.

Are we supposed to vote for candidates who don't do what they say they plan to do?

He does not even have clearance to go look inside a storage in Area 51 :D
By the way, CEOs of companies sometimes have lower clearance than their workers.

Is a security clearance a blanket clearance or are there limitations? Would I want someone with a security clearance in the FDA walking into a meeting of the joint chiefs of staff? There would be less backlash if the person doing this investigating wasn't the same guy the provided the bulk of teh funding to the president's campaign? Would there be less backlash if they invited members of BOTH parties to look into things? Would there be less backlash if someone other than a bunch of 21 year old kids enamored with a social media sensation doing the investigation? Would there be less backlash if the man sitting in the oval office acknowledged that he represents ALL Americans and not just the 48.8% who voted for him?

For everybody who has no problem with what is going on I can only ask - if Harris had won and done the exact same things with different people...and those people find the exact same things that has been found so far...would those "don't worry" folks be okay with that? Or would they expect more respect for the processes laid out in the constitution. Because they proclaim to love the constitution, which set up three branches of government as a form of checks and balances, but are fine with just one branch, which was designed to be the WEAKEST branch of government running everything.

Another thread asks if they regret their vote yet. No. They are all this delusional.

I think you lack the appreciation that clearance doesn't mean across the board clearance. A lot of clearance is need to know. Just because he has technical levels of clearance in some areas, doesn't mean he can stroll wherever he wants. And certainly not his acolytes.
All Musk is doing is auditing the cockroaches out of the government that I do not want to pay for.
A lot easier to support tyranny when you dehumanize people you don't even know... heck people that might not even exist.
Trump ran on this and is only doing what he said (on a daily basis) he was going to do.
Actually he ran away from Project 2025.

Meanwhile VP Vance suggests the courts have no say in what the Executive Branch does. One will note he didn't find a flaw in a court finding, merely said the Executive Branch is free from being harrassed by the courts as long as the Executive Branch is exercising their "legitimate power". That is Dictator level stuff.

OMG! Joshua H. Frigging**ck Chrestus. Would it be safe to assume that "fake news" refers to CNN? The Associated Press?
I was lathering praise on you: "RVonse -- the distinguished researcher who has spent hundreds of hours poring over objective scholarly articles clarifying the relationship between USAID and the CIA; who has a firm grasp on all the details of Project 2025; etc." and you go and spoil it all by driveling out some 6th-grade MAGA hogwash meme! Have you no self-respect? How many MAGA beanies do you own?

What's next? Are you stockpiling bleach for the next Covid epidemic?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Top Trump administration officials are openly questioning the judiciary’s authority to serve as a check on executive power as the new president’s sweeping agenda faces growing pushback from the courts.

Over the past 24 hours, officials ranging from billionaire Elon Musk to Vice President JD Vance have not only criticized a federal judge’s decision early Saturday that blocks Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from accessing Treasury Department records, but have also attacked the legitimacy of judicial oversight, a fundamental pillar of American democracy, which is based on the separation of powers.

But don't call them fascists. That's unfair. :(

What's next? Are you stockpiling bleach for the next Covid epidemic?

That’s a low blow.
Everyone knows real MAGAts don’t need bleach; they have plenty of Ivermectin stashed in the EOCAWKI bunker!

Also, RVonse, please explain what legitimate government work requires "employees" to set up beds in their offices to work 24/7?
