Credit Where Credit is Due: a shout out thread for Things Trump Did Right

No wonder this place is becoming a shithole.
Ya think? Just becoming a shithole? Where have you been living not to notice your shitty living wages way before the arrival of Trump over the last 20 years? You must be living in some protected coveted ivory cove on one of the elite coasts.

I guess you haven't visited Detroit or any of the other shitholes in the midwest since 2008. I guess you haven't wondered why everyone excepting tech billionaires or people already owning assets are doing worse and worse each and every year. I guess you haven't wondered why there is no auto industry or heavy manufacturing to speak of anymore. I guess you haven't wondered why our own government cares more about moving manufacturing to China than the US. I guess you haven't wondered why China's approach seems to be working and the US doesn't. I guess you haven't wondered about the fake and fabricated system the government keeps in concert with the fed.
I have to wonder on what facts do you base your views. Why do you think our gpv't cares more about moving jobs to China than the US? Why do you think Detroit is a shithole? Or why you think China's economy "seems to be working" because it is on the precipice of a disaster.
Why do you think the MAGA movement started in the first place? Just for a social activity and a good time?
If your views are representative of the MAGA movement, I'd say a vast reservoir of equal parts resentment and ignorance.

The true Faithful only “think” what they are told to think.

When Musk first took over Twitter many said that he ruined that company when he demolished the kitchen and the garage. But look at X now.
Yes. Let's look at X now. According to Visual Capitalist, X is worth $673 million dollars today. Musk bought it three years ago for 44 billion. Probably the worst financial transaction in history.

Look at Tesla and SpaceX. Tesla is doing what GM said couldn't be done
Huh??? GM actually proved it could be done when it introduce the EV1 in 1996. Tesla even said the EV1 was their inspiration. And this was before Musk came on as an investor.

and SpaceX is doing what normal people thought couldn't be done. Musk has unusual skills at succeeding where normal people routinely fail.
Please cite someone who said it couldn't be done. Almost anything that doesn't break the laws of chemistry or physics can be done if enough money is thrown at it. The United States V2 #3 rocket reached space in 1946. Musk is standing on giants of technology and you're worshipping him as if he was the first. Musk would be nothing without those that came before him.

in a broader context it may have bought him an election and subsequent control over the country’s treasury. So perhaps not as bad an investment as it looks on paper.

True, even though he had to cough up another 3/4 billion$.

Exactly.
The deep state doesn't need to be secretive anymore.
The billionaire oligarchs can buy presidents and scotus judges and nobody can do anything about it.
Because they are rich and powerful and we are not.

I give Trump credit for challenging Google.

Just now I entered "Gulf of America" into the Google Maps search window. The response was
Google Maps can't find Gulf of America
Make sure your search is spelled correctly. Try adding a city, state, or zip code.
So I tried "Gulf of Mexico." The page silently replaced "Mexico" with "America" and showed me a map, with the Gulf labeled "Gulf of America." Sounds like the left engine doesn't know what the right engine is doing. "Posting is currently turned off" at that Google Maps location.
"Trump Sucks" finds "Donald Trump Sucks Ass" in Calgary.

I access 'Net from Thailand. How does Google label the Gulf in other countries?

And this was before Musk came on as an investor.
`And rewrote the company history to make it sound like he was the mind and talent behind it. Musk has offered two things to Tesla - first was the voice command of "Open butthole" to open the rear power port and the second was the cybertruck.

Don’t forget the S3XY naming scheme.

Bringing us back OT again. Looks like Trump is well on his way getting us out of war (another of his campaign promises):

Using a VPN and picking Switzerland it returns Gulf of Mexico with Gulf of America under it. I would they would put a laughing face next to that.

We're not getting out of the war, just surrendering a country to the enemy.
YEp...When Trump was asked about giving back land taken from Ukraine he said "they just have to deal with it" Basically giving Putin everything he's taken so far.

Trump did offer to bring the US military in to Gaza to get some real genocide going.

He kinda makes the IDF look like a bunch of damn hippies by comparison.

Also, I thought it would be interesting to give our forum conservatives a space to talk about the positives of their guy as they perceive him. I predict they will actually be giving this thread a wide berth. They are not, on a fundamental level, truly proud of what they have done to our country. But who knows? Maybe we can all learn something.
You would call me conservative but I'm not a Yank so did not get a vote.

Though I might been like all those 90 million (!) wallies who did not bother voting.
You are welcome to contribute to the thread, no matter what you would consider yourself, or who you voted for. Sometimes I think our friends Down Under have franchise envy about US elections, your media certainly seems to get invested in the race.
We do not envy your elections.
Its amazement mingled with disgust, leavened with bemusement and garnished with "What have you done!"
I meant that you seem to sort of wish you had a vote in it. This would be understandable, imo. It is frustrating to watch an allied nation - for me, this was France recently, and the Brexit and Remain fiascos before that - make terrible mistakes in the ballot box that are likely to have global consequences. Though it seems in your personal case, your plan would have been abstention in any case.
I would not have abstained. Though I might have defaced my ballot with "A pox on both your houses". A vote is a precious thing and must be used wisely. Just noting that no-votes got more voted that either Trump or Harris. Which is a poor reflection is so many ways.

It is true that there is very little confidence in the basic functions of government, in my country. It's no secret that we are in considerable peril of collapse, by apathy as much as malice. Though, we have weathered such storms before. What can one do but organize, resist, and hope for the best?
