Credit Where Credit is Due: a shout out thread for Things Trump Did Right

It may be but I may not live to see it if I die in another pandemic due to these batshit insane people in power
The health organizations made Trump look bad in 2020 so we sever ties with the rest of the world and then neuter or domestic health organizations. And they don't trust that Covid vaccine, that was one thing Trump did RIGHT in 2020 - fast tracking the development. Now, none of his supporters want it and his HHS secretary is very anti Covid vaccine. If there is another pandemic, or even just a round of "regular" flu (that killed millions in 1918) proves to be one of teh "tougher" strains....who will Trump blame?

who will Trump blame?
The usual suspects.
That’s why they’re the usual suspects.
The trouble with the cult of personality is that as long as people are willing to believe anything, Trump could blame anyone or anything and they'll buy it.
Luckily the dullard has a very limited repertoire to draw from - the black guy, crooked Hillary, sleepy Joe, shifty Schiff …
It takes him a year or two just to come up with nicknames.

I'm still waiting the hear about what the orange Turd did or is doing right

Apple will spend more than $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years

What I do see is that Trump knows how to grab the attention of the media, hold it, and then use it to his advantage. I also see that he can take ideas and polices that were previously so poisonous that those ideas were off the table, even in Conservative circles, and revive them in a creative manner.
Fortunately, Trump has(had) the balls to enact tariffs and lower regulations even though the paid off economists have always said otherwise. Trump is only copying China's playbook, which has served them extremely well over the past 30 years. Thanks to our egg head economists destroying our country, Trump's tariffs may indeed be too little too late. We will just have to wait and see what happens next 4 years.

But either way that still beats the Democrat playbook of doing absolutely nothing but listening to idiot paid off economist's while our country goes into the night.

He wants hundreds of millions of Americans to work for starvation wages in near slavery, while forbidden to even complain about the government of their one party state?

I agree that this looks like his goal, but an astonished that, as one of the victims of this. you consider it "fortunate".

Yes, the China tariffs led to thousands of new jobs in America when they were supposed to lead to millions.

Can you please explain to me how you think it is financially and structurally possible for Apple to spend more than $500 billion in the US in the next four years? Even if they planned on building 50 new $10 billion facilities... you think it is remotely possible to do that over the next four years both fiscally and design plans wise?! Do you realize how impossible that would be to pull off?

These gargantuan spending announcements are playing Trump for the fucking idiot he is. Not being a competent developer, he has no idea how impossible the Apple announcement is, but he loves hearing about how all this spending is happening now. He doesn't need to really care if it doesn't actually happen, because he created something more important than jobs... he helped create "jobs".

I guess all those fired civil servants can go work for Apple now and truly make something of themselves while finally positively contributing to society.

It doesn't take "balls" to enact tariffs and lower regulations - it takes stupidity and ignorance. By lowering regulations I suppose you mean things like removing environmental protections whilst at same time creating new regulations and practices on what people can do in their own bedrooms, what women can do with their own bodies, and what most people can do with their own minds (book censorship).
Most "egghead" (that is intelligent, educated, knowledgeable) economists know that it is Trump that is destroying the US economy, and only a very small number of economists who are unprincipled right-wing shills support Trump.

You are right that your country is going into the night, as from January 2025.
It is ironic that you are calling qualified, sensible economists idiotic.

Economists as a group are generally in favor of reducing regulations.

Our economy is going strong by any generally recognized standards.

So, I don’t understand the basis for your distorted view of the economy.

RVonse conflating issues with trade and tariffs with American tax policy. The US economy is the strongest in the world, but it isn't the most spread out. This is mainly caused by our tax setup whoch has allowed the wealthy to become much more wealthy.

RVonse mistakes that having production in the US equates economic utopia, clearly unaware of the US economy in the 70s.

Does winning the presidency count as getting something right?
Remember that the average IQ of any nation is 100.
This means that half of the population has an IQ below 100.
And generally, they choose for each position a person who fits their own reference group.
That's why Dump.

"Astonished"? You seem to be unfamilar with Mr. RVonse:

By many objective measures (though NOT income equality) the country has never been more prosperous, so only in a spoiled wet-dream could it be "going into the night."

Are the economists "idiots" or "paid off[sic]"? Who's paying them off? AOC and the Jihadists? The Haitians who are eating the cats and eating the dogs?

Note that if "Trump's tariffs" fail to buy every toddler his own unicorn it will be the D's fault: The tariffs were "too little too late." (Why the geniuses did too little isn't explained.)

The "idiot paid off[sic] economists" have libtard PhD's but "Trump loves the uneducated people." RVonse has a PhD also -- P**ed H***er & D***er.

Students of international politics know that this is by Putin’s design.
Trump can’t take a shit without his permission.

We all live and observe different things so that makes sense to me. If you have been in heavy manufacturing you would believe our country is in dire straights and on its last ropes. But if you were a college professor receiving generous endowments you might believe our country is just fine. You would think the college professor would at least see a dim future, concerning our $30+ trillion deficit with interest greater than the military budget. But those people aren't because life is great for them so they put this out their mind and everything has to be good for the rest of us too. Even and after 6 or 7 zeros the deficit numbers all just look normal to them. So if your life is good I can see why you would think Trump is such a pig that you should not have to put up with. That makes sense to me.

Since I have personally been in involved in 2 major plant closings and possibly a 3rd, my opinion is no doubt tilted how I view the economy though. The fact that this 3rd plant (I still work at) was marked for death but now survives only because of Trump causes my bias to be even more pronounced.

I do see some good news and rational thinking coming back though. At least the majority opinion today seems to have altered their view that heavy manufacturing is good for the economy. I can remember a time not long ago during Clinton and Bush when CNN would not even say that much. The propaganda back then said manufacturing and making goods was for evil suckers and that real money was made hedging stocks and manipulating financial instruments. Will this late coming common sense and rational thinking be enough to save us all at such a late stage? I guess we are about to find out.
